Some madams who are envious of Xi Hui for having a good husband have added that maybe the gods balanced out Xi Hui's luck in life by having a daughter who isn't good in four arts. There are few who don't easily believe the rumors just keep silent as they don't want to invite trouble.

These actions weren't noticed by Qi Fan but his grandfather Left Prime Minister Long who sits near the imperial family did.
Some madams and misses who are near Qi Chen's table have noticed that his daughter isn't around and started to speculate that Xiuying didn't attend the banquet due to being scared in participating to the competition who always happen in every palace's banquet.
"Madam Qi, may I ask where is your daughter?" A madam sitting near Xi Hui bravely asked. "She arrived with us but was called by Princess Xiang, you'll see her in a while..." Xi Hui calmly answered even though she long heard what others are talking about her daughter.
"But will she not participate in the competition?"
"She will..."
"But the lady on the stage is the last one unless she will perform with..." the same madam immediately shuts up upon seeing the smile on Xi Hui's lips. "Oh I forgot to check on my daughter please excuse me..." She's already a mother but that smile is still the same I don't want to be part of this anymore.... the madam immediately fled and walk back to her family's table.
"The ladies are so talented this empress bet all of you have now admirers in the crowd..." Empress Chu commented while smiling elegantly.
"Thank you Empress Chu!" The ladies who participated blushes at the comment.
"The same goes with the gentlemen, our Great Yan is really lucky to have you and in the near future all of you will greatly contribute to our empire's prosperity!" Emperor Zhao agreed to Empress Chu's comment, it is shown that the two are in harmony.
"Now let's see the performance of Princess Xiang with her friends." Empress Chu announced
"Oh she is performing with her friends this time?" Imperial Concubine Gao asked, Princess Xiang to only acknowledged the young miss of Kang Fu as her friend and hearing the word friends some are now curious who are the other ladies who successfully befriended the blunt princess.
"She is and they are all beautiful and talented."
"This concubine is glad that Princess Xiang finally have more friends in her circle." Imperial Concubine Fan added.
"Eunuch Chou arrange the stage for Princess Xiang's performance." Emperor Zhao instructed the eunuch beside him who immediately act after hearing it.
Everyone can see a group of eunuch places three weird instruments on stage, all have strings on them. The one in the middle is of the same kind that is seen in Ying Yue which is called as harp.
The eunuchs left after placing the three chairs and instruments. After few minutes a group of five is seen walking up to the stage, everyone recognize the only male in the group is Young Master Ji who is guiding Princess Xiang.
There are three ladies walking behind them all are wearing veils but they have noticed that the four ladies have the same style on their dresses but with different color. Princess Xiang have a light blue ribbon on the chest part of her dress, while the other three have pink (Qi Lian), light orange (Kang Hou) and dark green (Qi Xiuying).
When they are already on stage, Princess Xiang stands in the middle while Qi Lian is on her left side holding a guitar, Qi Xiuying is in the middle behind the princess, ready to play the harp and Kang Hou on the right side holding the second guitar.
"Princess Xiang it is a surprise who have three friends now." Imperial Fan suddenly commented she is still bitter to this princess who is engaged to Young Master Ji. Her daughter, Princess He is in love with the young master however when she reach out to the emperor for the two to be engaged it was declined only knowing after two weeks that the young master has been chosen for Princess Xiang while her daughter despite being two years younger was wed to the second prince of Xiangli.
"Yes Imperial Concubine Fan though I only have three I know they are to be trusted and befriended me not because of the benefits that comes with it." Princess Xiang honestly said but the concubine almost vomitted blood as it is known that during the Empress selection her friends praised her as to be the winner only to suddenly left her behind after not getting the position when she entered the palace.
