Self-reverence, self-knowledge, self-control; these three alone lead one to sovereign power” - Alfred Lord Tennyson

~~~
"My queen, I am sorry to interrupt but the girl is ready and yet she refuses to come down. I have tried everything but she won't budge and all the guards are too busy to make a spell or force her" Regina whispered into Destinie's ear. The witch nodded and rose from her throne made of thorns and bark. She walked to the small hallway in the cabin, where she went to get peace, where a magical portal took one to the halls of her castle. She went through and rushed to her chambers. She had already been away from her guests too long and she was still not ready.
She changed into a long dress, a dress made for a Queen. She sighed and used her magic to tie the bodice and the corset. She curled her hair to perfection and put on her crown. She put on black heels and then her raven charm bracelet on. She kissed it lightly and applied perfume, putting on a blank face as she opened the door. She walked to the guest room and entered, seeing the girl and being surprised at how formal and pretty the girl looked. Mainly since they hadn't left in years or had any good things. The village was junk and even before her curse, showers were a rare thing in the times they were born in.
"I've heard you don't want to come down?" She asked, her voice rising as her not having her way got her mad. "I don't want to marry a beast! A monster!" The girl yelled, refusing to admit her future. "That so-called monster will be your beloved, whether you want it or not! Dare not to discriminate my allies. I assure you... I'll kill all your family whether they are in my trap or not. I know some managed to escape. You don't want anything to happen to your friend right?" The girl shook her head.
"Now stand up, dry those tears, follow Regina downstairs, and smile like you are joyous! Be glad I didn't marry you with one of the Cyclopes" the Queen looked at the girl in contempt and disgust. Destinie walked out of the room after her reprimand and walked down the stairs to the room where many creatures were enjoying the food. She watched for a little while, smirking as she reveled in knowing she was still so young and yet held so much power over so many creatures. Vampires, werewolves, witches/wizards, trolls, cyclops, mutant wolves. She needed a couple more but she was getting there.
"Good news, my dears! The bride is coming! Daniel, King vampire of the North" Destinie spotted the King that shall marry and bowed ever slightly. The King bowed lower, knowing the hierarchy. King or not, she was above him or any other King in her palace. "Luciana, Good evening. Thank you for this... nice thought of you. I appreciate the gift of giving me a beloved" Daniel Nightshade spoke, deeply annoyed but trying to hide it as to not offend the most powerful being. "You are very welcome. Ah, here she comes" Smugness laced her voice. She had always felt bad and tried to constantly set him up but this time it was to be done. They all turned to see the girl. She was beautiful, he had to admit. "I present to you, Heather Wilson. Heather, this is Daniel Nightshade. Your beloved" she smirked softly.
Destinie's ego grew ever so bigger. Heather smiled but the disgust and hatred could easily be seen through her eyes by everyone in the room. "Well then, let us begin. Heather stand here. Daniel, there. The rest, sit" She said firmly. They do as she ordered and Destinie stepped up to the altar. She was handed a crystal bowl and water filled the bowl. She nodded in thanks to a water Elementalist. She started chanting, the air becoming dense, shadows surrounding her.
"Nella luce e nell'oscurità i due si uniscono, amano o no la gloria degli Dei!" She chanted twice before looking at Daniel Nightshade. "Daniel Nightshade. Do you accept Heather Wilson as your beloved for eternity? To love and protect her, to make sure she is safe and protected, happy, and healthy?" She said, her smile turning into a slight grim one. "I accept," Daniel said without hesitation, knowing if she wanted to make him get married, he would. The shadows grew darker, bigger and worse. "Heather Wilson, Do you accept Daniel Nightshade as your beloved for eternity? To love and protect him? To be by his side forever? Love him through anything, and bear him children?" Destinie's face was now annoyed. "I accept," Heather said firmly, refusing to cry. The shadows disappeared before appearing once again, diverting between light and dark. It seemed they were confused. Destinie did not want Daniel to marry but at the same time he deserved some happiness and she needed to control Heather.
Destinie smirked and Blake handed her the black and diamond-encrusted dagger. She motioned for Daniel to cut his palm and he does without a flinch. Daniel holds the blood to the bowl and drops fall in. Then he handed it to Heather and she did the same. She cut her palm and held it to the bowl as drops fell in. The vampires controlled their desires to feed on her. "To finalize, your palms together, the blood mixed" They did and Destinie smiled. She mixed herbs into the water. All colors began to appear and Destinie bit back the anger she had. "Congratulations. The groom may bite his wife" Daniel moved to her. Heather accepted her fate and began to bear her neck for him. He leaned in and bit her. He let his venom into her bloodstream. He let go and she fell, fainting. He grabbed her and held her. Everyone waited silently. "Blake, now" Destinie ordered, their plan set in motion.
"Alpha, the humans have been captured" Bryce, Blake's beta, entered the room and bowed. "Take them to the cells. Don't kill them" Blake ordered, dismissive and turned to his wife. Bryce looked up at his Queen. She smiled and nodded softly. "My Queen, I'll be back. Take care. Don't worry. I will not disappoint you" Blake bowed to her. "I trust you, husband. Just come back uninjured or what happened last week will happen once again" Destinie hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek. He smiled and ran off with his men in tow. A blinding light passed and soon Heather rose, new and undead.
"Good, you survived. Daniel, the blood" Daniel took out a bag of blood and handed it to her. She instantly fed on it and Destinie smiled. "Good, palms out" They obeyed, though Heather was reluctant. Destinie grabbed another dagger and cut their palms. "Segui i miei ordini, segui le mie leggi. Sei obbligato a fare qualcosa senza che io lo scopra. Questo sigillo non può mai essere spezzato" Destinie finished her incantation and smirked.
"Alpha Blake told me to inform you, my Queen, that they have captured all the villagers. They ought to be here in a bit. The others are in the big cell. Do you wish to separate them or put them together?" Bryce bowed to his Queen. "Put them together then order them to go to their families" she ordered. "Yes, my queen." He bowed and left. "I got you a gift! One last visit to your old family. For them to see you changed into one of the things they hate. And some, are dying!" Smiles.
"No! You can't!" Heather yelled as she tried to lunge at Destinie from all the way across the room. Destinie raised her hands because now the girl was quick. "Para" She stopped. "Don't you realize dear? You are bound to me. I had to renew my binding with Daniel because as his beloved he'd do anything for you. I have to control him but he couldn't kill me even if he tried. Now then let's proceed" She smirked, knowing she had won. "Let us all go downstairs before the party can begin. If you may all follow me" They all nodded and followed her. Heather behind Destinie and Daniel in tow. When they arrived, they were getting everyone in. The children, crying, the fathers and the mothers, trying to protect their children. "Welcome to my humble abode! I see you have met my friends. I have a surprise for you mortals. I present to you my newest puppet and goon... Heather Wilson. Beloved of King Daniel Nightshade, Vampire" she showed an innocent grin to them.
"Well, aren't you going to congratulate her? Don't worry though, some will die tonight. All of you, break down into your immediate family" she ordered and smiled as she faced her subjects. No one moved. "Now!" She demanded, not liking how they made her seem powerless. No one listened. "You asked. Blake, if you would" He grabbed a baby of about a year and held him above a fire created by one of their elementalists. The mother screamed and pleaded for her son's life, begging, crying. Destinie smiled. "Now I'll say this one more time. Break down into your immediate family, or this baby and more, die." She commanded. Everyone finally moved. Blake handed back the baby. The mother hugged the baby tightly to her. When everyone was spread out into their families the woman was alone with her child. "Why are you by yourself? Where is the father?" Blake never missed one before.
"He ditched me after I told him I was pregnant, then two weeks later you killed him," She said quietly. "So nice of me. Blake, grab them and take them to the chamber" The lady pleaded and begged but Blake grabbed her and took her then he came back, smiling. Destinie looked away. "Fin, hand me that baby" He snatched a baby boy from an old lady and handed him to her. She looked at his future. "Hmm. Well, who am I to defy his future. Give him back Fin. Bye-bye, little Bill. You, you, and... you will die tonight. You remind me of those men. Hmm... my Vampires!" They looked up, expectant, waiting for any orders. "Since tonight is your King's wedding, I give you these three. Kill them. Feast. And you, you lady. You are a prize for my good wolves who defend my forest. Fin. Take her outside. Into the play area" She looked around and saw one family. It was a father, perhaps in his late 30s, early 40s. The woman kind-eyed, early thirty's or mid thirty's. Then the girl was the age she back then before everything changed. They huddled together, embracing so deeply with so much love.
"You, what are your names?" Destinie demanded. "My... Lady. Our names are Grayson, Drucilla, and our daughter is Luciana. Please don't kill them. Please, kill me, make me your slave, I don't care, just don't kill my wife and child" He begged and went on his knees, crying for his family's mercy. "Blake, the last chamber, now!" He nodded and took all three, the man still pleading. When Blake came back, he was grim-faced. Another family was triplets. Two boys and a girl about five years old and a dad about 30. Where is your wife?" she asked, wanting to know, but not in the mood anymore. "She is dead. She was a visitor and we fell in love. She was told a million times to leave" Destinie remembered that law she had set up to get more villagers after they began dying out. Sadistic maybe, but she did not care.
"She didn't. She said she wasn't leaving without me so she stayed. When they were about three, she said she couldn't take it" the man began crying. "She said "let's kill ourselves," I said what about them. She said forget them. She said she'd wait for me. She killed herself. She expected me to kill myself right after her and leave our kids. I couldn't" he answered sadly. "Chamber 6" Blake took them without a word and came back. The last family that she wanted to know of consisted of just a little girl about 3. She waddled over to the edge of the cell and giggled as she saw Destinie. "You pretty. Up up" she smiled. Destinie motioned for Blake to carry her. He took her out of the cell and carried her. She giggled and called him pretty. He handed her to Destinie. Destinie grabbed the child, inspecting her with a look of annoyance and curiosity. The child smiled and lunged at her, taking her into an embrace.
People gasped. Everyone had always hated her. They waited for her next move. She then formed a spell and the girl levitated. The child giggled and clapped her hands. "Where is her family?" She asked. "She doesn't have one, you witch. You killed them. She has been taken care of by all the women in the village. Even this hideous beast took care of her" A man responded so bitterly. Daniel snarled and his eyes turned red. Blake growled, his canines showing. Bryce followed suit. Destinie raised her hand for them to halt. They did as ordered by the Queen. "Fin, get those three men handed over to the vamps. The fat lady fed to my pets, and that man... hmm. I'm sure the Cyclopes will enjoy. The rest, haul them back to the village" She turned to the rest of the villagers. "Listen to me, you mortals. I control your lives, got it? I choose when you die, who is born, when you starve or when you eat! You defy me... you die. That brat, Wyatt, caused you this" The others were scared, angry, and sad. All the money they had. Money visitors had left, money they had since the curse began, all gone for nothing.
"You paid him for a lie, now he is on his merry way with your money. Because of him and your foolish hopes, a villager is now a vampire, five are dead, the others, you don't want to know. This baby is mine now. She will continue my legacy. It is because of you and you only that you are where you are. Puppets for my show" Destinie grabbed the giggling child. "Bryce, take these mortals back to their village. Come back right away. The feast shall begin! Blake, come with me. We must deal with the others" Destinie grinned. "What are you going to do with them?" Heather asked, scared. "That, my dear, is not your business. Daniel, I suggest you control your beloved. Just know you will never see them. Blake, come with me. Bryce, you know what to do" Bryce, Blake's second in command, nodded and led every human out.
The wolves stood guard outside, making sure none tried to escape. When Blake and Destinie left, Heather turned to her new beloved, Daniel. She felt oddly safe, she didn't like that. "What... what is going to happen to them?" She was scared to know the answer. "Don't worry about those mortals. But since your my beloved I'll tell you what I know. Once you enter those chambers you don't ever come back out. There have been no bones, no nothing, zero evidence as if they disappeared. Everyone back upstairs! After the wedding reception, you, my people, may enjoy your treats!" He said with a tone of smugness in his voice. His people cheered and bowed to their King and Queen. "Don't you feel bad?" Heather asked, trying to feel disgusted. "Course not! They've killed many of my people. Plus I'm purebred. Never dealt with them. Most of my people have been turned by my people or they are also purebred. Only four are my bitings, not including you, and they are my best friends" He said nonchalantly.
"Is there no possibility of you helping me rescue them?" She asked, hopeful. "Course not. If you asked me, course I'd help you. You are my beloved. Don't get ideas though. We are bound now" He shrugged. "Can't we break it?" She was just so hopeful. He chuckled at that. She'd learn. "No. Only the binder can break it. Or a super-powerful witch. And that's... that mutt/witch/Elementalist King Blake. He's her husband or whatever" He said bitterly. "Plus. Those doors don't open at all. Only two people have access, and you can guess who." he muttered. ¨Not to mention, I do not mind being binded to her. Her alliance provides us security from particularly darker and more dangerous creatures and she is pretty reasonable¨ Heather sighed and followed her beloved upstairs.
Meanwhile, Destinie and Blake went deep down the hallway, to the chambers. They left the child on the floor, toys appearing. They opened the first one and saw the baby boy and his mother. When they entered, she recoiled and held her baby. Blake locked the door. "Stand, let me see your child." The woman cried and handed her baby boy over, softly and so delicately. Destinie placed three fingers in a claw form and pressed it to his heart and out. Then she touched his forehead and looked into his future.
She whispered an incantation and gave him back to his mother. She stepped forward and whispered an incantation to the mother's ear. She stepped back and Blake handed her the wand that belonged to her. "Una decisione è stata presa, il futuro di questa madre e del suo bambino saranno benedetti, il passato da dimenticare, una bella vita per ora e per sempre" The wall began to disappear and a portal opened.
"Go. You will be taken to a new place. Don't ever dare step a foot back into Oregon. You or your baby. Someone by the name Artemia will appear. She will know who you are. You are to follow her. She will take you to a place. She will give you money monthly until your child is 20. You will create a new life. Go" Destinie said, void of any single emotion.
"Thank you... thank you so much! I actually liked Mrs.Scar, such a nice woman who cared for us. She never deserved any of that. Some protested. I'm sorry!" The woman said with pain in her eyes. "It's okay. Forget every single thing that happened here" The lady quickly walked into the portal with her child in her embrace. The lady was taken away from the hell she had gone through. Destinie closed the portal. They left the room and headed to the other chambers to continue her act. A shadow followed them, white light behind the shadow.
Someone jumped on her and before she screamed in anger at whoever dared touch her, she realized it was Rosemary. Destinie sighed and smiled a bit. "What's the little beast doing out here?" She asked. The girl giggled. Fin came running out of his door and was out of breath. "Sorry, my queen. She woke up and was happy, she started running and everything and suddenly ran out" He explained.
