Xavier's POV.

    Confused. What is happening to me? Two weeks ago, i was completely doing the usual and having a nice time but this...., this isn't nice. Does Marya likes me? But she said she doesn't!! Is she lying? Marya doesn't lie to me. But what was  all that about? I don't understand anymore. I was in my study after meeting with the council but now when I'm done solving issues with the people. Its my life which is hard. I had two person to help me in this situation.

"Xavier, oh Xavier!!"

"What?"

"She likes you man!! God I'm tired of this!!" Derek said.

"But she said she doesn't!!" I said.

"And you believe her? Seriously?" Matthew ask.

"So did you kiss her?" Andrew asked.

"Seriously?" Derek, Matthew and i said and he shrug.

"No man. Shut up!!" Derek said and i sighed.

"Why did you bring him in the first place?" I asked and Andrew rolled his eyes.

"I just....,  she was late!!" I said.

"I have a fiancee now and i can't date her!!" I said

"Or..., you can have her  as your side chick?" Andrew asked.  It took me all strength not to punch him.

"Marya is not that kind of girl i play. I like her and......., i don't know!!" I said and they sighed.

"But won't Marya be mad at you if you don't date her?" Andrew asked.

"Yes. I mean, i don't know. I'm confused!!" I said.

"You shouldn't cheat on your fiancee!!" Derek said.

"God i can never understand things like this!!" Andrew said and i sighed. Me neither.

"Yes, but i don't like my fiancee. I like someone else!!" I said.

"Then stop the engagement and go kiss her!!" Andrew said.

"I can't!! My Dad  will be  so...."

"Hey boys!!" I heard a voice. Charlotte!!

"Hi Charlotte!!" They all said and she smiled and sat beside Derek.

"So, any drinks on the table?" She asked.

"You are not drinking!!" I told her.

"I will just clap or something!!" She said and clapped. Maids rushing in.

"No Char. You will have no wine and aren't you listening to me?" He asked. She  sighed.

"A red wine please and a wine...."

"Charlotte...."

"What? What the fuck do you want from me? Why don't you just stay on your own side  of the game and i do!!" She asked, fury in her voice, but it was kinda sexy. Jeez Xavier, what is wrong with you?

"But we will both have to mind each other since we are getting...."

"Oh shut up, we both know that was an excuse. If you want to meet your darling Marya, you can go!! But I'm telling you Xavier...., watch your back cause  you don't know what is  coming for you!!" She said. She sighed, breathing in and out before smiling.

"I will love the wine to be in my room please." She  told the maid and the maid looked at me. I sighed and she left. Charlotte turned to the boys.

"I'll see you guys later!!" She said smiling and she gave me a dirty glare before walking away. Her walking steps!! Mhannnnn!!

"Damn. If you don't want her, i do!!" Andrew said and i gave him a glare which made him roll his eyes.

"Xavier. You are  going to be a  king. And their are decisions you will have to make. Hard or simple and it might be hard but it is your duty and i want you to use your head!!" Derek said and i sighed. This is going to be hard but  i have to do it!!!

Friday. What a day!! I haven't seen or talked to Marya since that day and i feel she has been avoiding me. Charlotte has been nasty. And really difficult. She has been more involved in the affairs of the kingdom though and the marriage. And today is the day. I am scared. But i hope this would work!! I knocked on her door and she opened her door. Damn!! I cursed. But seriously...., damn!!

Charlotte's POV.

     Happy. Cilla is coming today, I'm so happy!! I came out of the bathroom with my towel and the door was knocked. Finally, that maid took long enough!! Just a simple task and that was all. I opened the door and to my surprise. It was his royal highness!! He stared at me and checked me out. I scoff. He finally got a  grip on himself and licked his lips. He scratched the back of his hair with his right hand. His left was at his back.

"Excuse me!!" I said and walked in, i closed the door. I smirked. I gat him. Let me give him a little surprise.

"I'm sorry, i just...., wanted to ask you for something!!" He said and i rolled my eyes.

"Just give me a minute!!" I said. I wore a white slim fitted gown that hung to mu curves. Oh yeah. It reached a little bit above my knee. It had a cleavage and little sleeves.  Then i wore a black wedge. I dried my hair and curled it. I did my nude make up and smiled. I'm ready!! I took my bag and opened my door to find Xavier pacing. He stopped abruptly when i closed the door and looked at me. He scratched the back of his hair and checked me out.

"You look....., amazing!!" He said.

"I know. Thank you!!" I said.

"Uhmm, these are for you!!" He said and his left hands revealed rose flowers. He got me flowers?

"Are you okay?" I asked and he smiled.

"Yes. I, I'm in my right senses!!" He replied. I smiled and he did too.

"Thank you!!" I said and took the flowers. Its nice of him to give me flowers!!

"I was wondering if you were busy tonight?" He asked. I sighed.

"I'm sorry. I..., are you asking me on a date?" I asked giggling.

"Hey, I'm not that bad!!" He said and i sighed.

"Well, i have nothing else to do today, so..., okay!!" I said and he sighed.

"Thanks. Thank you a lot!! For accepting!! I actually thought you will throw the flowers on me!!" He said.

"On a second thought....."

"Please don't have one!!" He said and i laughed.

"I...., oh my God Charlotte!! I'm sorry, i forgot my friend is coming today and...."

"I already got that covered. She would be escorted by the guards. She's in good hands!!" He said.

"But......"

"Its just a dinner till nine and you can girl chat!!" He said. I sighed.

"Yes, but i have to see my best friend first!!!" I said.

"Sure..." He said and moved closer to me.

"I'll see you at eight!!" He said and kissed the back of my hand. God, I'm so blushing!! Does he have mood swings? I mean, he is behaving like a  total gentleman now!! I hope he doesn't change.

"Alright!!" I said and he left. I smiled and went back in.

"That is so great!! This is so great!! He is so hot!!" Cilla said as she saw his picture. We were in my room painting nails.

"I know right!! But he is a jerk!!" I told her.

"Hey, at least he is asking you out. Some just give you mixed signals!!" She said.

"Cilla!!"

"Char!!"

"Who is he?" I asked her.

"Kyle. He is a a top surgeon and always finding faults in whatever i do!! But he's so handsome!!" She said.

"Awwn. You should talk shit to him!! He  would know how to stop reprimanding you!!" I said.

"Sometimes he's a  sweetheart, sometimes, he is a jerk and i want to kill him but i can't. And worse, he kissed me. And he is acting like it never happened!!" She said and i laughed.

"Is he a good kisser?" I asked her..

"The best!!" She  replied and i laughed.

"On his desk?" I asked and she blushed.

"Changing room!!" She said and i laughed.

"Classic!!" I said.

"You should ignore him then. Make him beg!!" I said.

"But..., what if he doesn't really like me?" She asked.

"That is his loss. There are plenty hot guys in this world. He can fuck off!!" I said and she sighed.

"That would be hard though. I think I'm falling for him!!" She said.

"Well don't fall harder!! Come help me prepare for the date. Its minutes away!!" I said and she nod.

Xavier's POV.

   Can't. I can't get it off my head. Her in a towel!! Her in that sexy dress. It took me a lot not to touch her. Gosh, hormones. She's damn attractive. And she's good in making herself drool worthy. I can't concentrate!! I grabbed my jacket and went out. I walked up to her room and knocked on her door.

"...., he's here!!" I heard her yell. I smiled amused and minutes later, she came out looking breathtaking. She wore red tight dress that made all her curves a show, her fantastic shape in view, it stopped at her knees and had a slit which cut up in the left side of the dress up to her thigh. God!! And up to her boobs, if i can just...., shut up Xavier. It was an off shoulder which held a lot of cleavage.

"Can you turn around?" I blurted out. She rolled her eyes and turned slowly. The back had a V and had a few strings alligned. Gosh!! She turned and i saw her face. The make up wasn't much, and her was in a tight bun with loose curls at each sides.

"Charlotte..., you look....., i don't know!! Breathtaking!!" I said and she smiled.

"I know!!" She said.

"You don't look bad too!!" She said and i smiled. I was in black jeans and red button up shirt.

"Red hnn? Did you eavesdrop?" She asked.

"Nope. I didn't. I just happened to love the color red!!" I said.

"Me too!!"

"Milady!!" I said bowing a little, my left hand at my back and the right stretching towards her.

"Your highness!!" She bowed and took my hands and we both laughed. We walked outside the palace to reveal a carriage.

"A carriage?" She asked.

"A royal always ride in style Lady Charlotte of Gardenia!!" I said smiling and she laughed..

"I don't know what pill you took today. But I'm loving it Xavier!!" She said and went in. I got in and the foot man closed the door. I sat and looked at her. We stared at each other for a minute.

"You are beautiful!!" I said. And  she looked away.

"Thanks!!" She said and she stared at me again. She looked away and cleared her throat. I looked away too.

"Xavier!!" She said.

"Yeah?" I said giving her my attention again.

"Where is the King? I haven't seen much of him lately!!" She said. Well, she's observant alright!!

"He flew to get treatment!! He will be  back before the wedding!! Why?" I asked.

"Well, I'm just concerned. To think, he is the only one that made me feel welcome!!" She said.

"That's the king for you. He's a  good man!!" I said and i prayed silently before holding her hand.

"I want you to feel welcomed to!!" I said staring at her and she wanted to say something but kept it.

"Is there anything you want to say?" I asked her. She was quiet.

"We will be  there shortly!!" I said and i sighed then looked away. What did i do now? Well, at least, she's still holding my hand. It shouldn't be  that bad!!

Charlotte's POV.

      Mixed feelings. Why is he behaving so nice? Is this a kind of compensation for liking someone else when you are engaged? I know i should be happy he is finally giving me the attention i deserve!! But then, is this all fake? I can't read his eyes. Anytime i try to, i always wants to, maybe kiss him or something!! But i hate him!! Okay, i don't. But, he's a  jerk. Not tonight!! Urgh Charlotte!! Let's just say, I'm gonna use this new Xavier to my advantage!! And make the best out of it!! Besides, he doesn't look like he cares. Some part of me wants him to be like this forever. But some part of me just don't want to believe all this is genuine. Or maybe I'm overthinking things, i don't know. But there  is one thing I'm sure of. And  that is if someone give me a way. I'm gonna rip every single clothing he has on his body and kiss him all over. God Charlotte!! The carriage stopped and the coldness of the night hit me as the man opened the door and i felt sick.

"Are you okay?" He asked me stroking my hands with his thumb and I nod.

We got to the restaurant which was..., empty!! Or is he trying to kill me or something? He pulled out my chair and  i sighed. I sat and he went round before sitting on his chair and i smiled.

"Empty hnn?" I asked.

"I'm sorry, i just don't want our first date to be with people staring at us!!" He said. Reasonable.

"And i didn't feel you will be  comfortable!!" He said.

"Xavier...., i am a celebrity if you have forgotten, I'm used to that....., but i like it actually. That's nice of you!!" I said smiling.

"I'm just glad you like it!!" He said.

"And I'm just glad I'm happy!!" I said and he smiled.

"Oh well..., would you love to order now?" He asked.

"Of course!!" I replied.

"Splendid!!" He said and i smiled.

"Yes. I am!!" I replied. He smiled and clapped and maids kept rushing in. Power i tell you. Power!!

So far so good, we were laughing, eating, smiling. Holding hands. Flirty comments here and there and i would be lying if i say i didn't enjoy his company.

"...., but it was just crazy. It was the best time..., i had that summer!!" He said.

"Well, when you went camping. I was in a party and getting drunk. I ended up in the toilet with Cilla holding each others hairs as we slept and woke up with dick drawn on our faces!! Cilla was so mad cause she is the goody-to shoes and she didn't want her innocent eyes to darken!!" I said and he smiled.

"I've never really went partying before!! The first time i did..., i didn't get myself!!" He said and i nod.

"I can imagine you in a party!!" I said laughing.

"Hey, i had fun. Well, maybe getting drunk and having a hangover that is......, Andrew was naked and i didn't see my shoes!! Pink lipstick all over my face!!" He said and i laughed.

"I later  found out a girl who was just so obsessed with me took the shoes and  did all the kisses. I vowed never to go to a party!!" He said and i laughed.

"Yeah..., those days though. I still think I'll never change a thing from it if i was giving an opportunity too though!!" I said and he  nod.

"Well, i would actually!! Maybe getting more social!!" He said and i nod.

"Yes, that has to change. That.....,  has  to change!!" I said. And i removed the napkin which was on my lap.

"Yeah yeah yeah!!" He said and i yawned.

"Sleepy?" He asked.

"Not really!!" I replied and smiled.

"Lets go home!!" He said.

"Already?" I asked and  he gave me a shy smile.

We walked to my door with his jacket on my shoulders because of the cold.

"Thanks for today Xavier." I said.

"Thanks for accepting to come with me!!" He said and i smiled.

"Uhmm, there is a fair tomorrow..., and i was hoping if you would want to come with me?" He asked. I smiled.

"Yeah, but can Cilla come along?" I asked him.

"Of course!! Derek is coming along too." He said and i nod smiling.

"Yeah!!"

"Yeah..., uhmm, goodnight?" He said.

"Goodnight!!" I said and turned. Call me back. Call me back.

"Uhmm, Charlotte?" He asked. I turned.

"I enjoyed today. And I'm sorry for what I've done in the past few days!!" He said. Yeah, just kiss me!!.

"What do i do? I'm stuck with you forever!!" I said and we smiled.

"See yah tomorrow!!" He said.

"Tomorrow!!" I said and he scratched his hair and i turned. I opened the door and entered. Cilla was already asleep. I smiled. I stripped off my clothes and had shower. I wore my pyjamas and got to the bed. Today started good, ended good, well, not as well as i expected. I mean,  come on. Even a peck will do!! But at least, something is telling me it is the start of something new!! And unfortunately,  i can't sleep!! I wonder why!!

Xavier's POV.

     Something. Something is telling me i didn't do something. I've wanted to hug her or peck her, but i don't want her to slap me or something!! God I'm a  girl!! I had shower and laid on my bed. I tried to sleep but i just couldn't. Should i go to her? Would she be sleeping? Would she be mad at me if i go? Would it be rude if i go? But i just want to see  her again. And i can't wait for tomorrow. I scratched my hair. Something i do when I'm very nervous. I've caught myself doing that when I'm with her!! God knows she gives me the chills.

I stood up and walked to her door. Should i knock? I can't just do it. Urgh!!!

"Xavier..." I heard a voice which made me startle. I turned.

"Oh..., Anita!!" I said and she walked to me. Anita, more like my second mother. She is the head maid and more like my nanny. She has been the one taking care of me since i was  little. Actually, i knew her as  my mom. And that's because my Mom was  very busy. She took care of Xandra too.

"What are you doing here at the middle of the night?" She asked me. I scratched the back of my head.

"Well, i....., i just....., " i said and she smiled.

"You want to see your fiancee?" She asked. I gave a shy smile.

"Is it wrong if i want to?" I asked her.

"Oh no!! I won't encourage in the middle of the night though. But, don't you think you can wait till tomorrow?" She asked me.

"Yeah. I just......"

"Oh Xavier. I know those eyes!!" She said.

"What eyes?" I asked her and she laughed.

"How is Marya?" She asked. I sighed.

"It's confusing Anita. I mean...., did you know she liked me all this while?" I asked her. She smiled.

"Finally you know!!" She said.

"Was it that obvious?" I asked her.

"Yes it was. Why don't we  talk? Not in front of her door?" She asked. I nod.

"Totally!!"

"It was all there!!" She said.

"Then why didn't she say so?" I asked.

"Because she didn't want to. Because she doesn't want to like you!!" She reply.

"But. I like her. She knows that!! Its not like she is scared i didn't like her. The more i think of it. The more i think of it. I've driven to the conclusion that women have problems!!" I said.

"Hey!! You were the oblivious fool!!" She said.

"Well, she was good in pretending all right?"  I said.

"So, what do you want to do now?" She asked  me. I sighed.

"Its too late now Anita." I told her.

"You do know that you don't have to marry who  you don't love!!" She said. I nod.

"Its my duty Anita!!" I said.

"Oh Xavier. I raised you well and i know you will make the best decision!!" She said and i nod.

"Don't let go of that girl though. I see a beautiful story between you two!!" She said and patted my shoulder.

"Go to sleep now Xavier!!" She said and i nod.

"Thanks Anita!!"

"Anytime." She said and i nod.

"Goodnight!!"

"Goodnight!!"
