Chapter one.

 Alexa's POV:

   I tip toed to the kitchen,i didn't get dinner, and now, it's twelve midnight, my stomach is hating me right now, just with the sound coming from inside.

I opened the first pot, "it's empty! Why empty! God this imp!" I cursed and hissed. I picked a pack of noodles from the cabinet drawer, I'm having this tonight, cooked or uncooked. As I'm about leaving, i hear footsteps, my aunt is coming, i hide myself properly under the sink space, she shouldn't see me stealing from her kitchen, anyways,I'm not the only one at fault here. Sometimes i try to remember what brought me here... After all her daily nonsense, i should be out right?

I'm financially broken, i have no income, i spent the last money i had on completing my clearance so i can write my final year exam in peace, that old lecturer announcing nonsense like i don't know i should complete my tuition fees... 

"Alex! Alex!" My aunt started yelling with her weak voice. Oops, I'm under here, and dare not come out. Her loud noise filled my ear and pounded loud in my drums but still i dare not come out.

After a while, she left i came out and went to my room to eat.

  The only thing i can remember is how my mother left me and my elder sister in an empty house, we never saw her again, then this aunt! She took me away, taking me to hell, why my sister went to live with my other aunt.

Thinking so much, i didn't realize the day was getting brighter. It's morning already!

I picked up My phone to call my friend, "Hello Tessa, I'll be there in some minutes, Hope you're not bothered waiting for me?" I made a puppy face like she could see it.

"Ha! OK, OK come over here quickly!" She hung up.

I promised my little heart, today, i must get a job, i just have to finish my house chores then leave.

Making a spotless improvement in cleaning, i picked both shoes up, Once this woman sees me leaving, she won't let me, she'll start bringing back more work to make me late.

"Where do you think you're going bitch?" She asked in a calm tone, also using the butch word at me.

"Me, ha!" I laughed weirdly while scratching my head, i know what she's gonna do... Her nonsense ia inevitable.

"Go round all the rooms Alexa, pick all the clothes that are been rumpled, you havw to wash them again you know. Don't go out without doing this." She said this then got up and left.

"Shit!" I cursed, threatening her back as she left. I should really punch this hag someday, her children do nothing all day! And I'm her slave. And thank God she stopped hitting me, i crossed 18, i don't know if i can take it any longer from her.

I watched her, she's going back to sleep, Now's my chance. Gathering all the clothes she asked me to gather, i hid them all behind the dumpster. What? Mine isn't here!

"Tess, i wish i can leave that house." I murmured while resting my head on her laps, "it's alright, i told you don't take anything to heart, you're s strong girl." She pulled my face up, "Did you bring all your credentials?" I nod slightly at her question.

"Then it's all set, we're both getting a job today."

First office:

 "Good morning sir." I greeted the interviewer. His eyes scanned my whole body in ways which makes me embarrassed and disgusted. Doesn't this man has a wife?

After taking a good look at the certificate i provided, he faced me, looking at me, eye ball to eye ball. "So miss-"

"Miss Williams" i completed.

"What gives you the mind set that you will be taken fof this job?"

"OK williams, don't look at this intimidating man, just give those points, you can do it"i said to myself, trying to mentally balance myself.

"Sir i-" before i could complete, his words gave me the shock of my life, "you're taken." He said.

"Oh my Goodness, oh- is it for real?" I asked him. "Sir are you sure I'm taken?" 

"Yes of course. Girl you're too good not to be taken. I think i could just-" he walked over to me, stroking my haor with his hand. "What's this for?" I asked surprising, bulging my eyes at him. 

"Shhh... You will get this job, i promise, just be mine."

"Huh?"

" i said a snow white skinned beauty like you should not work, but if you want to, i can let you after our nights together."

Is he crazy? I stared at his wedding ring, He's a married man for Christ sake!

"Don't worry, the job is yours. Just one night only." He whispered. He was starting to fill anger in my soul, i got up and lashed at him, "Are you mad?! I didn't come here for a favor! I'm here cause i want a job, not some whore one! A job i earned. And if this is how you treat your workers, i gthink i should expose you!" I picked up my bag and stormed outside and his loud voice sounded in my ears, "you just wait and see, i will make it possible that you never get a job!"

"Let's see!" I barked. 

"He's such an old and shameless bastard! How dare he look at my body in such a disgusting way!" I can't help but shed tears.

"Don't cry, don't cry." I mentally console myself from crying.

And on top of my frustrations, some reckless human being acting like they haven't no car all their lives spill mud on my perfectly ironed dress.

"Hey!" I yelled.
