Chapter 8

The sun poured through the window alerting those sleeping it is a bright new day.

Just like last time Amanda woke up to a splitting and harsh headache, the pain on her head was enormous

While she was wallowing in the pain she felt on her head the door to the room swung open and a middle-aged woman stepped in with a tonic.

"Good morning young madam... My name is Antonia and I will be serving you from this day forward" the middle-aged woman greeted respectfully

"Oh... Hello, Aunt nice to meet you" Amanda greeted with a weak smile.

Antonia stood staring at Amanda with a bright smile and tears on her eyes.

"Are you alright"

"Do not mind me, ma'am, you look a lot like my late daughter... You remind me of her" Antonia replied wiping her tears

"Then just take me as your daughter and I will take you as my mother...

"Thanks for the soup you can now live Antonia..." Charles who has been standing quietly with his back at them while facing the French window butt in

The moment Charles voice fall, she took her eyesight to the French window,  under the shred of sunlight pouring into the room through the French window, Amanda saw a figure, the figure seemed cold, unruly and lonely. Fragments of light shone down on his slender figure. Unconsciously, Amanda felt pity for him

 Amanda was about to reprimand him for the last few weeks but seeing him like that she lost the will to do so

"I know you have a lot to say to me but do that after you regained your energy," Charles said as he turned to look at her

Today Charles was dressed in a casual outfit because he has no plan of stepping out. Which made him look less cold and domineering

Looking at his cold face Amanda lowered her head to enjoy her meal, after some spoons she got satisfied.

"This is the room I stayed in on the first day we met right"

"Yes it is"

Amanda drifted her attention from Charles to the room, the first day she came here she was so sad to notice the room but looking at it the room suits his temperament, although the room is not as large as the room in the castle, this room is still huge enough. The background of the room is black

This room really suite the temperament of the owner, Amanda thought to herself

After she was done admiring the room Amanda stood up to clear her dishes but was stopped by Charles

"Don't you have any questions to for me"

"No, I don't... This marriage is that of convenience and I understand that so if a day comes and you find your true love I just hope you let me know... And we will get divorced I won't hold you back... That is all I ask"

"I will bear that at the back of my mind"

"By the way how did you locate me and where is my friend Willabel"

"I trailed you" Charles replied 

"I have a place to visit will you accompany me... Please accompany your little wife" Amanda said while blinking her eyes

"I can't say no when you ask like that"

The moment he dropped his reply, Amanda jumped on him

"Let's get dressed I want to spend a lot of time there" Amanda added

They got dressed separately for the journey after getting ready both couples came out for the journey, they went to the garage and settled for his black SUV because their destination is a bit bumpy.

Amanda wanted to act crazy, she snatched his car keys away from him

"I will drive," Amanda said with a playful look

"Ok have it your way" the two happy people set out for their trip

After a very long ride, they came to a place buzzing with the noise of tourist, the place was crowded with people

"I do not like it here, this place is crowded" Charles complained

"Patience, Charles"

Looking at how irritated he gets from coming in contact with the people there Amanda wanted him to loosen up from his usually cold expression, she held his big hands in her small hands with a joyful look she forced him to run with her to their destination smiling from ear to ear

When they got to their destination they were breathing profusely.

The place was free from noise, they could count the number of people there and there was a little river at the side not far from a long white house with a bell in it.

"Whenever I feel down or unwanted by the world I come here to pour out my grievances... I come here to shout to the world or talk to the sea and it miraculously helps me... You are lucky... You are the first I have brought here... I couldn't even bring Desmond here he just never had my time... When I saw you this morning I figured you had a lot in your mind plus you looked lonely and stressed so I decided to bring you here... Maybe it will help you as it does for me. 

"You live far away from here... How did you find here"

"Even I don't know... I always get maltreated by my birth mother and younger sister and my Dad is always out on a business trip... One day I got mistreated by them I badly needed someone to talk to but I had no one, my dad travelled for a business trip my best friend was out of the country while Desmond was always busy I had nowhere to go to and no one to talk to I just ran out of the house and found myself here... I don't know how I got here I just found myself here. Amanda said

"I don't know the reason I keep coming here... You see that white house over there whenever I have nightmares it is always in my dream... And there is a lady I keep calling mother in my dream but I have never seen her face I don't know what she looks like" Amanda added

"What else do you see in your dreams," Charles asked with pique interest

"That's all I remember... Sometimes I feel something is missing in my memory... I feel like I am forgetting something"

"Charles... I know this may sound stupid but the first time I saw you I felt the familiarity between us... The scar between your brows looks familiar... It looks Soo familiar.
