LOGINSpecial Agent Ash Kane( Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pendleton, OR.)The call first came in from Joy Kenwick, at the coroner's office in the small city of Hermiston. "We may need your help with this new case, Ash. This new body was mutilated so badly it even made Jenna get sick." After hearing that, my brows raised in surprise. Jenna is my on and off, girlfriend. When it comes down to her job performance, she's usually tough as nails. So I promised Joy I'd look into it and hung up the phone. Leaning back in the leather chair at my desk, I looked around the room at the dark wood paneling that matched the mahogany of the desk and shelves behind me that were filled with books on law and procedures. Standing upon the light grey carpeting, I slipped out of the Navy blue jacket to my suit, rising to hang it on the tall brass coat stand two feet away. Loosening up my French blue tie with my fing
Joy Kenwick, POV( Morrow County Medical Examiner, Good Shepherd Hospital - Hermiston, Oregon )Taking a deep breath, I stepped closer to the corpse of a young woman. Reaching up, I lowered the microphone for my preliminary recordings. Pressing the button in my hand I began to record a few things. "Young woman approximately twenty-one to twenty-six years of age, with long brown, scapula length hair. Whoever did this, their work appears to have been done with a surgical scalpel. The body seems to have been dissected and sewn back up again, as perfectly spaced even sutures/stitches run across both collar ones, then continue from the base of the neck to the pelvic bone. Three horizontal incisions were made on the body from side to side, two of which were sutured closed. The third severed the entire torso through the lumbar region of the spine...determination of the tool used for this will be in the report once the lab has a go at the mar
Deputy Joseph Hanes POV(Heppner, Oregon. 6:46 am)The call came through the sheriff's department at about 5:22 am. Some poor homeless guy looking for a place to crash for the next few hours came across the body. Had to go to the liquor store to use a guy's phone to call it in. Good thing he did. The morning traffic of kids going to school don't need to be seeing something like a dead body. When had I arrived, I stepped out of my car and slammed the door shut. All those stairs going up to city hall were very daunting. I remembered the doughnuts I'd had back at the station and looked at my gut. Damn, this was going to wind me.Bright red from the exertion, I met the other three sheriffs that were there. Barely glancing down at the blue tarp, I shook my head and in a frustrated tone, I asked them, "Alright boys, what have we got?"A pale Sheriff Tanner that was on hi
Unknown POV(Heppner, Oregon)New place, fresh kill. God, I love these little townships and what a mockery they are. Their little world away from everyone else. Cute little lawn decorations, and kiddie toys all over. Mom and Pop USA. Makes me wanna puke. Hypocrites. They all fucking disgust me. It all looks so pretty on the outside. The further away from the Main Street area, the crappier. Scenes from hell weave their way inside the homes, in one way or another...My eyes leisurely scan the road until I see there is no one around. Why should there be at three in the morning? Still, I'm cautious. Very cautious. To play my part well, I picked out this town and others, to move into several years back at different times, with cash and fake names. You can buy everything you need with cash. I come and go on "busine
