Chapter 19 Tired Of Living

Something that Isla Sullivan did not want to face finally happened, and Xena Sanders, who had alerted the enemy, panicked a bit.

The expressions on the mother-daughter pair were a bit strange.

The only normal one, Victor Sullivan, stared at Alex Cohen first and then at Isla.

"You don’t even know if Alex came back last night? Have you been having trouble lately? Or have you been separated for a long time?"

"No Dad, we…”

Isla's nervous palms were sweating.

Alex did not wait for Isla to finish before he placed an arm around her small waist and said, "Honey, I came back too late last night and drank a lot of wine. I know you don't like the smell of alcohol and you were sleeping soundly at the time, so I didn't disturb you and just slept in the guest room. You won't blame me for not sleeping with you, right?"

Isla smiled with relief and shook her head.

"Why would I? I know you’re the sweetest to me. Are you sober now?"

"I’m fine now. Darling, don't worry. What we missed last night, I'll make it all up to you tonight."

Alex did not shy away and grabbed Isla's butt with his hand, then he turned to Xena and asked, "Just now you asked if Lala knew what I did last night. What were you referring to?"

Xena was being questioned. She brainstormed for a while before finally responding.

"You know that Lala doesn’t like the smell of alcohol, yet you still drank so much last night. Do you even have Lala in your heart? Alex Cohen, let me warn you. If you dare to let Lala suffer the slightest grievance, I...will hang you up and beat you up!"

"Come on, it’s just once in a while. I'm not an alcoholic. I'm curious. How did you know I was drinking last night?"

Xena was suddenly at a loss for words after Alex raised this question.

She had just said that Alex had gone out drinking last night, which was a temporary lie, so how the hell could she find fault on Alex just for this?

Xena was once again questioned and could only continue to make up nonsense.

"I heard from someone who saw you drinking."

Alex continued to ask.

"Who did you hear it from? Where did you see me?"

"You wouldn't know even if I told you. That...I've said all I need to. Let's go!"

Xena was taken aback by Alex's series of questions, so she fled after she said this.

Alex was disappointed. He thought, ‘I even have a recording ready, and you just f*cking say something useless like this?’

As soon as this thought came up, Alex realized that he seemed to be so petty that he actually even looked forward to Xena's outburst. He even thought the sooner the better, hence the series of questions just now. However, Xena held back and left, so he would just save it for the next time they met.

Isla sent her parents to the elevator, walked back into her home, and closed the door. Her face instantly turned cold as she glared at Alex and said, "You can do something intimate to match my acting, but you'd better not go too far!"

Alex shrugged his shoulders and said, "That’s not easy to understand. Can you be more specific?"

"Anything over the level of holding hands and hooking arms is considered crossing the line, so you better watch out."

"Okay, I'll try my best."

"Not try. It’s a must! Also, your only purpose for going to the party with me today is to help me out. You have to control your emotions and don’t be impulsive. You especially can't offend Jared Xavier again. Otherwise, my mother will definitely come to trouble you."

"You speak as if your company will be able to renew the contract with Grand Express Corp if you don't offend Jared Xavier."

“Are you stupid? If our company doesn't end up renewing our contract with Grand Express Corp and you’d offended Jared Xavier, you'll be treated like a criminal. Isla glared at Alex and took out 10,000 from her bag.

"The party officially starts at 3:00 pm. We'll leave home at 2:00 pm. Go buy yourself some clothes and get a haircut first."

Alex did not reach out for the money. Instead, he went out and drove to Trinity Hospital.

He rarely had any free time lately, so Alex accompanied Francis Cohen at the hospital and only left in the afternoon.

At 2:00 pm sharp, Alex drove the car to the neighborhood’s basement parking lot.

A few minutes later, Isla came down and saw that Alex still looked exactly the same. Her face instantly turned black and asked, "Where are the clothes I asked you to buy? What about the haircut that I asked you to get?"

Alex shrugged his shoulders and said, "I think I look quite decent."

"Decent my *ss! I can't control you yet, can I?"

"You can control me to go along with your acting, but you better not go too far."

"Son of a b*tch! Are you rebelling now?"

Isla was boiling with rage when her phone suddenly rang. It was Cynthia Walker calling and her voice sounded urgent.

"Lala, you haven't gone to the reunion yet, have you?"

Isla said, "Nope. What's wrong?"

"Don't go! You remember Frederick Holt, don't you? He’s the weak little boy who had a crush on you for 3 years in high school, but succumbed to Jared Xavier's lewdness and never dared to confess to you. He just called me and said that this class reunion organized by Jared Xavier is a trap for you!"

"What's the situation?"

Isla's curiosity was instantly piqued, but she unintentionally noticed the familiar Range Rover nearby and had to hang up first.

Jared remembered what had happened the last time he was here. He parked the car 5 meters away this time, got out, and ran over. He ignored Alex as usual, and said to Isla, "Lala, I've come specifically to pick you up. It's almost time. Let's go."

Isla still did not know what Cynthia meant by the trap, so she definitely could not go to the party. Alex slapped Jared's hand away and snapped.

Jared grabbed Isla's arm again.

"F*ck you!"

Alex kicked Jared away. Alex was not even sure if he was acting or if he was just reacting instinctively.

Jared staggered 2 or 3 steps back but was still unable to stabilize himself and fell to the ground. He rolled over to get up, screamed, and jumped back.

As a result, he was blown 2 meters away again by another one of Alex's powerful kick.

Isla saw this, quickly dragged Alex into the car, and hurriedly left.

Jared cursed angrily and drove the Range Rover to catch up. Within just 3 minutes, there was no sign of the Lamborghini. He slapped the steering wheel in anger, picked up the phone, and dialed Xena Sander's number. He roared hysterically into the phone.

"You don’t need to wait for the contract to expire. I'll tell you now. Gold Stone is out of the game! You and your company can go to hell! F*ck you!"

Xena's mind went blank after receiving the call, but she was quickly filled with anger and immediately called Isla.

"Bring Alex Cohen to my office now! Immediately!"

Isla knew that it must be Jared Xavier who told on her mother again, so she had to rush to the office with Alex.

As soon as Xena saw Chen Yang, she viciously pounced over.

"Alex Cohen! How dare you!"

Alex was unconcerned and shrugged his shoulders.

"What did I do?"

Isla stopped her mother in her tracks and asked, "Mom, what's going on?"

"He's cheating!"

"What?"

Isla was confused. Where was this coming from?

Alex's long-awaited moment finally came. He played along with Xena and replied, "Don’t simply spout nonsense!"

"You still won't admit it? Then I'll help you to recall your memories!"

Xena took 3 photographs out of her bag and slapped them on the table. They were even printed in color!

Alex was unperturbed by this.

Isla's heart actually did not fluctuate. She just felt a little embarrassed, but both Xena and Victor were there, so she had to treat Alex like her real husband...it was time to test her acting skills again. She pondered for a while, then pretended to look extremely shocked and angry, and flipped to the second photo.

This one was much more straightforward, with Alex's hand grabbing onto Sukie Lane’s chest.

In the last one, Alex was on his side and was leaning forward. He looked as if he was about to kiss the girl who was sitting on the passenger seat.

After she saw the photos, Isla glared at Alex and questioned, "What the hell is going on?"

Xena answered, "Can't you see from these? He’s obviously cheating! This is marital infidelity!"

Victor, who had been suppressing his anger, also finally exploded and shot over like an arrow. He swung his fist at Alex's face, then grabbed his collar and gritted his teeth.

"You bastard! Son of a b*tch! You're married to my beautiful daughter yet you still have the nerve to find a woman outside? Are you f*cking tired of living? Since you don’t appreciate your life, I'll just help you…”
