Chapter 11

last update publish date: 2020-11-16 19:59:18

If Heil is just a monster like we think it won't set any rule to hunt humans only after 6 pm if they come out of their shelter, will he?

Come on! We people usually do these kinds of psycho things but the monster or any kind of animals don't think twice before it set its eyes on its prey.

Now things make sense why he didn't do any harm to me when he found me out of the cottage despite he tasted a bit of my blood.

If it was a lion or any other hunting animal what it would be done? Definitely, it would have eaten me alive, but for Heil? It mocked me before faded out of my sight.

Is that mean the book is real?

But who wrote that book and how he was related to Heil? If I find the person I can get my answer but where is he now? Does he alive? Ahh! Too many questions need to answer...

But I can't simply digest everything as the book feed. I don't even know the title of this book. Uncle Hayle said it was a dangerous animal and he is the man of his words who think thrice before he spoke.

Asking the matter to him would create another drama and may lead the misunderstanding as I doubt his skills even though I'm not.

And at the same time, I can't simply ignore the book like a plain paper. It held so much truth even though it's hard to believe.

I'm trapped in the situation of what to choose. If I neglect the book the damage would be severe than anyone can imagine.

And the girl? Who would be? Does she aware that Heil named monster is after her?

Hmm... no way. Poor girl.

Very rare peoples are living here and they are very old like they belong to the '80s. And the girls who live here are our team members but we are new to this place and not going to stay permanently.

So, who would Heil choose for him? Huh!! Don’t tell me he has his eyes on one of the girls between us.

That useless human being Rakesh and Mr. walking stick are only a human who lives around this place and I haven't heard any other men.

Yeah! Before I come to India I asked the detail to Derick and he said except these people no one has the guts to live here.

That means apart from these two, a third person is watching us. Or may I say one of the men is Heil and pretended as don't know anything about this Heil thing?

Nah! No chance.

Knowingly or unknowingly Mr. Walking stick helped me to discover the new thing by giving this book and Rakesh, he wouldn't be handed this book to me if he was Heil and the truth is he is allergic to blood.

Yesterday, I asked Clara to collect everyone's blood samples and when she took the sample from Rakesh she saw him on the floor unconsciously. Man, he didn't even say he is afraid of blood and kept his guts on the bay but what happened at the end? He fainted like a pregnant lady.

Think Reil, think... I curled the bottom of my hair with my pencil and looked down at the paper where I drew the imaginary Heil with grey eyes, sharp nose, and strong jaw but it doesn't suitable for him.

Heil may look like a human version of a monster, not like this handsome boy I had drawn.

I wanted to find out the person who has Pale Skin, it may useful for me to start my investigation from them but I can't sure how worth it is.

Pale skin is common and-- see I have that skin too and I can't tell I'm a female version of Heil. So funny...

But we are in India and people who live in this place have brown skin or yellowish. It's very rare to see a pale skin human and I can't suspect anyone without any proof.

And Mr. walking stick, just because he has pale skin I can't conclude everything and close the case but he seems not to belong to this place, maybe he is a foreigner too.

At first, I judged him wrongly, I would have certified him as a monster the moment I discovered about Heil is a human and could close the case if he delayed showing his humanity.

Don't blame me. If anyone had in my place they would have thought the same until he showed his other side. He helped me many times, he even gave his pen to me. Does he care for me? Whatever...

'Reil, you can get more details of Heil if you let go of your ego and discuss the matter with Mr. walking stick. He may feed you with more information.' My inner mind asked me.

Even though my mind stated the truth, I can't go with her idea. He behaved very rudely to me on the very first day and I don't think he is willing to help me if I ask so.

Heaving a heavy sigh, I tossed on the bed and looked at the ceiling unable to find the solution for this misery.

It won't be bad to let go of our ego at once, is it? Why don't give it a try? It's better to give a try rather than quitting. Deciding to discuss the matter with him tomorrow morning I drifted off into sleeping not before whispering quite good night to my dad.

I wish he is still alive.

---

I'm pacing back and forth in my cabin not knowing where to start the conversation with him. He is not an easy person to handle. He is quite rude and never thinks twice before turn his back to others. This is what I discovered from Rakesh and I know how fact it is.

'Mr. Hunter, Thanks for giving your pen.' Should I start my conversation from this? 'No... Please don't do that. It's quite awkward. You already thanked him for that. Try another reason.' My mind suggested.

'Okay....Mr. Hunter---'

"Yes!" I heard a deep dark voice from my behind. Oops...I called his name so loudly. Masking my face as much as casual I turned around and watched him looking at me intensively that made me blush but I don't know why...

"Huh?!" I thought for a proper word but it seems my lips were sealed together.

"Do you want anything?" He asked and to my surprise, he entered my cabin and took a seat in front of me while I am standing like a statue with an open mouth.

"Hmm yeah! Actually, I want to ask you something." I fidgeted my fingers like I'm going to propose to him. Seriously, my taste won't turn this bad.

"Go ahead." He gestured me to take a seat in front of me. Wait... Did I see a shy smile on his face? No... No... No... I was dreaming. He hardly smiles anyway.

"Where did you find that book?" I asked straightly and let out a sigh of relief as a heavyweight lifted off my shoulders.

"The same building where you have been yesterday but I'm warning you don't go ever." He said, his shy smile disappeared and he went back to his normal mood.

What was inside that building anyway? No one in their right mind would dare to go there and if they go once they never consider going back there twice. The place was so scary... But the portrait?

Leave it. I'm not going back to that building, because the book I'm looking for is not there so there is no use in going back to that wrecked so-called bungalow.

I nodded my head like a kid who got scolded by her mom. "I will help you to get the book if you want but you have to wait for long." Reading my mind he said calmly his eyes solely on mine.

"How long?" I asked curiosity took over all my nerve." Maybe he is not living here.

"It's all up to his health condition. He has fallen into a coma for a while." My face fell right away hearing his words. "What happened to him?" I asked.

"All I know is Heil attacked him ten years ago otherwise I have no idea what happened on that night." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Where is he now?"

"He is under my care. Once he opens his eyes I will bring you to visit him before Heil would approach him." He said making me off guard.

"What? What do you mean?" My breath hitched in my throat.

"The rumor is Heil is waiting for his well being, so there is maximum chance Heil would approach Dr. Steven Volts." He clenched his jaw but when he caught me staring at his clenched jaw he masked his face as usual, blankly.

See.. he has the details you want. It won't be bad to make a friendship with him.' My mind asked me but I chose to ignore her.

"Aren't you afraid of Heil?" I can't help but ask. Whenever he mentions the name Heil, he seems so cool like he is talking about just an ordinary man, not a monster who has no sympathy for people.

"No." He shook his head. "I don't find any reason to be afraid of him until I poke my nose into his business." He stood up from his place ready to leave.

"See you then." He flashed me a very very small smile. If I hadn't looked at him intensively I would have missed his smile.

'He is so cute when he is smiling.' My inner mind drooled over him. 'Shut up. Back to earth, Reil.' I scolded myself for being like a teenage girl who is very fond of her crush's single smile.

But I can't ignore the fact that he is behaving so nicely to me these few days. Maybe he is feeling guilty for his shitty attitude towards me and wanted to amend his mistake.

Yeah! Maybe.

Should I ask him-- Leave it, Reil. It's your mission, not him. I convinced myself before dogged into my lunch. I didn't realize I was hungry until the aroma hit my nostrils.

Time flew and the weekend kissed our forehead. His grey eyes and sharp tooth have become my best nightmare but I didn't tell this to anyone. I'm the leader here and my one weak point is enough to bring fear to everyone as to spoil my project. They thought I'm not afraid of Heil but they don't know how terrified I feel whenever I recalled the incidents.

"Huh! What an amazing view." I admired the back of those shirtless broad shoulders which was standing a few feet away from me facing the window for that I couldn't able to see his pretty face. I stormed inside the cabin to meet a person who has the capacity to give the answer to my first question despite the fact that he doesn't know a bit detail of the book or Heil."Rakesh!!" I slammed the book on his table which created an unpleasant sound that made him jerk away a little, but when his eyes met mine he relaxed visibly and leaned on the chair. He placed his clasped hand on the table just below where I slammed the book."Yes, beautiful." Sure he has the nerve to flirt with me where I'm burning inside like a volcano."Where did you find the book?" I asked pointing the book on his table.

I'm ready to attack her with my laptop but her brows furrowed together and the happiness in her face faded like it never flashed in her face before. I followed her gaze and found the grinning Rakesh who is shaking his head playfully. What's his playful mood today?"Sorry, babe. It's not me." He then stepped besi

"Reil, where the heck have you been? Do you have any idea of how we have been worried about you?" Emiem asked placing her hands on either side of her hips the moment I stepped inside the cottage in early morning 7:00 am, uhh maybe late morning.I'm not in the mood to talk or listen to her blabbering so I made my way towards my room ignoring her calling my name and slammed the door in front of her face. "What happened to you?" I heard her say on the other end of the door but I made my heart as stone as hard and decided to take a warm bath, maybe it could heal my wound that I'm feeling both internally and externally.
