Nightmare

"No! Stop, let me go. I don't want to this, let me go. Please." I opened my eyes to see Ashton yelling, struggling with an unknown person.

"Stop, mum! Dad! Please help me, mum please help me, save me." He yells the more, tears coming out of he's eyes. I stood up from my bed and walked over to Ashton, were he's currently lying on my couch.

"Hey, hey. Ashton, wake up." I called out, tapping him lightly on he's shoulder. He got up immediately breathing so hard. 

"Are you okay." I ask him concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He replies me, wiping the sweat off he's face.

"Where are you going." I ask, as he walks over to my door. "To get water from the kitchen." He replies simply, I think the nighmare he had most had mess with he's brain a little bit.

"Seriously, you're going to get water from my kitchen, in my house. I don't know if you know this but my parents does not know you're here, so what do you think will happen if one of them sees you downstairs, they will get your ass arrested. So do me a favor and sit your ass back on the couch, while I go get you the water." I said getting up, Ashton didn't argue with me but went to sit like I told him too.

"I'll be back in a minute." I informed him, walking out of the room.

The minute I stepped out of my room, I saw my mum coming in her usual night gown. "I was about coming to your room, sweetie." 

"Really, but why?." I asks nervously, fully aware of the fact that Ashton is in my room.

"I heard screams, and I was wondering if everything is alright." She asks worriedly.  I placed a hand on my room doorknob, giving her a nervous smile. There's no way I would want my mum going in there and finding out I let a guy sleep in my room, although she won't be mad at me because I have a guy in my room or because he spent a night in my room. Nope, she'll be mad because I didn't ask for permission or inform her. I was so much of a big introvert, my mum would literally be begging to me go out, have a boyfriend and bring them over. If I had giving her the chance, she would have arranged a boyfriend for me.

"Erm.. actually, I.. I.. well.. it was a cockroach, yeah a cockroach.. was in my bedroom." 

"Oh really. Well, that's weird I just got the house sprayed, I guess I'll have to call the insecticide company tommorow." She mutters.

"Yeah, you should call them." I said, nodding my head in agreement.

"Okay honey, I'll go back to bed now, love you." 

"Love you too, mum." I replied. My mum walks only a few feet before stopping then she turns around. "Uhm, do you want me to call your dad to take care of the cockroach." 

"No. no, there's absolutely no need for that, I.. already killed it, yeah I killed it." 

"Okay, but maybe there could be more cockroaches, maybe your father should take a look around."

"There's also no need for that, I am positive there's no other cockroaches in my bedroom." I replied, and she nods her head, "okay then, goodnight."she says and walked away, phew. That was a close one.

I hurriedly walked to the kitchen, got the bottle of water and head back to my room. 

"Here's your water, Ashton." I said throwing him the bottle of water, and he catch's it then gulps down the whole thing.

"So, do you wanna talk about it." I asks softly, interrupting the silence that has grown between us.

" Talk about what." Ashton asks, gruffly, raising his head to look at me.

"The nightmare you had." I clarified.

"No, I don't want to talk about it." He replies, I nod my head in understanding, "okay then, I'll go back to sleep. This is 11pm in the, I shouldn't be awake by now." I yawned a little bit arranging my pillow, then lay my head down on it and got ready to go into dreamland.

"Tam." Ashton calls.

"Yeah." I answered.

"Can I.. can I sleep on the bed." He asks, I turned around to face him. He looks like a loss puppy, he looks so vulnerable.

"Yeah, you can."

"He is not still back Josh." I heard my wife says, and I opened my eyes to see her standing right in front of me looking so worried.

"Don't tell me you spent the whole night, worrying about Ashton." I asks surprise, my eyes travels to the wall clock, 5am.

"How do you expect me to sleep, when my son did not come back home last night, Josh. He couldn't even call the house." She utters, pacing around the living room. I wish my son knows how, he's mother worries about him a lot. I wish he knows, she couldn't sleep a wink last night, because he didn't come back home. I wish he knows, she forced me to sleep in the living room with her, so she could wait on him.

"Honey I.."

"That's he's bike, did you hear that Josh, our son is back." She yells, pointing outside the window.

"I told you he was fine, didn't i?."

"Son, where did you spend the night, I was so worried. You should have called the house, and informed us you won't be back till this morning." Kate asks, rushing over to him, Ashton ignored her walking right past her.

"Ashton." I called.

"Yes Dad." He answers, stopping.

"Your mother was talking to you. She was so worried about you, and all you could do is ignore her." 

"I never asked her to be worried did I. Maybe if she had worried about me six years ago, i would have appreciated it. It's too late to worry about me, Mrs Reed." He yelled and then walked out of he living room.

"I said it, he will be never forgive me." Kate cries out in despair, falling to the ground.

I lay on my bed, remembering last night and Tam. The memories of last night was still fresh in my memory.

When Tam said I could lay down on her bed, I felt happy but I didn't know why, I was happy. I lay down on the bed, and for the first few minutes I couldn't sleep, I could only stare at her face, she looks so beautiful, so peaceful. I wish I could sleep like that, I wish I won't be waking up in the middle of the night screaming, all because of a freaking nightmare. I brought my head down, and took a sniff if hair. Lavender. I kept on watching her face and I didn't know when I actually fell asleep, for the rest of the night I didn't have anymore nightmare, and that's actually the first time I'm having nightmares only once in a night. And I think I know why, she's my antidote
