"It's... me? Do you know me, Human?” The wolf showed his teeth toward the rogues before walking towards Macie

Macie swallowed the thick saliva stuck in her throat and attempted to step backward ever so slowly.“I uh…” she stammered, looking back and forth between the rogues and his overpowering white body.

"What? Did that cat get your tongue? I mean, you were brave not moments ago. Why would it now?"

"Oh, it-it's not that." Macie stammered and stepped back again. "I j-just umm..uhhh... "

The wolf shook his head. "Never speak unless you are spoken to. Is that clear, Human?"

The wolf warned before he stepped directly in front of her. "Unless you are ready to say how you know me, Human?"

Something started rising within Macie. Each time the white wolf called her 'Human.' It was only a name, but Macie spent half of her life running from society, running from the Valquerian's and Langlands. She always felt at home here in the woods. It was the one place to go, and here he was giving her shit for being a human in her place. Her only haven.

Macie balled her fist to her side, her trembling legs locked steady upon the fresh cold ground. All she could do was stare into the wolf's eyes and not move."Are you feeling brave? Most know better than to challenge me. Are you sure that is something you want to do, Human?"

The white wolf stepped forward, showing her his sharp white fangs. Not once did Macie blink as she glared into his amber eyes while showing no fear. He leaned forward and warned, "You know, all it would take is one snap," he chomped his teeth, "and you would be like that pathetic fool on the ground."

"Fuck you," Macie said too calmly.

"Fuck me?" He snickered. "My, my. Are you offering? Is that why you are alone in the woods because you were hoping someone like me would come along and give you a little something... extra?"

Despite his harsh words, Macie remained in her place, "Of course not."

"Then, tell me, Human, because it seems the more I stand here, the more questions I have, and that my little human doesn't make me happy. At all." He snapped.

"Poor baby," Macie answered dryly. "And I am not your little human. I am not your anything."

"You will regret-" the white wolf began to say, but stops and sniffed the air in a circular pattern. Closing his eyes as if he was taking in a delicious, tempting scent. He opened his eyes and bored deep into Macie's soul before shaking his head with pure frustration.

 "Fuck."

"What's wrong?" Macie asked, taken aback by his new behavior.

A twig snapped behind Macie and the werewolf. Macie was so entrapped by the white wolf she somehow forgot that the Rogues were there too. Quickly, Macie glanced up in time to see both Rogues silently standing behind them. The eight-foot Rogue stood high above the wolf, showing no fear. His claws were reaching out to ready to snap the white wolf's neck and take his life. Macie gasped, not knowing whether to run or attempt to fight for her life.

Hot breath puffed over her shoulder blade. Macie whipped around in time to discover the seven-foot wolf that stood an inch behind her. His cowering ways towards the white werewolf was long gone. The Rogue has regained his confidence and stood tall and proud, glaring into his eyes of the white wolf with his legs spread equally three inches apart and his claws curling towards his filthy fur.

Macie thought to herself as she stared at the cherry red eyes how they were hypnotic- intriguing even. The way it naturally glows against his thick brown fur but smells poured off his body is vile. The Rouge must not care too much about himself because it was as if he had not bathed in weeks. Macie gulped back my saliva, trying not to vomit.

"Do you know what a bath is? Gross!" Tiny drops of saliva escaped past the Rogue's lips when he growled in protest.

"You really have a problem with keeping quiet, don't you?" The white wolf rolled his eyes in frustration.

"Well, he smells like an ass. They both do actually. Not like you. You don't stink. You never do."

"Shit, why did I just say that you?"

"Good question. Care to answer?"

"Nope," Macie answered quickly.

The Rogue stretched his limbs and shoulders, allowing himself ready for battle. Macie looked between the three of them, trying to decide what she should do.

"Stay close. I will keep you safe." The white wolf promised.

"Yeah, right? You just threatened to eat or fuck me. Do you think I can trust you?" She laughed within.

"Fuck you? Human, I wish it was that easy. You are a virgin! A fucking virgin lost in the woods!"

"I'm not lost!"

"The hell you are!"

The Rogues circled them with their claws stretched out and licked their lips.  The white wolf stood on his back two feet and arched his back tall and proud. Macie instinctively moved closer towards the white wolf.

"Why else would you have been in the woods and not in your hometown?"

"That is none of your business!" Macie snaps out loud.

"This is my woods, so yes it is my business, and thanks to you not being where you are supposed to be, I have to kill these two useless pricks off, claim my mate, then go explain to the clan why I have a useless half breed as a Luna. Humph, this will be loads of fun."

"What did you just say?" Macie whispered, "You want to claim me as a y-your mate?"

His entire sentence was a blur. The whole scene in front of Macie unfolded by only distorted shapes and haunting sounds. She stood there, feeling shocked and dumbfounded by what the white wolf was implying. He didn't want to kill her off. The white wolf wished to mate with her for life and make her his Luna.

The white wolf didn't hear her after that. He lunged forward towards both the Rogues. They thought they were smart, taking him on at once. The eight-foot one stood from behind, and the seven-foot one in the front. She watched him fight them with ease flipping them in the air with his powerful jaw. Right as they fumble to the ground, he would dig his massive paws into their chest. The fighting never stopped for what seemed like a lifetime. She wanted to run, but something was stopping her. She heard the sounds of howling in the distance — werewolves from every direction. Macie, the Rogues, and the white wolf all felt it.

The white wolf looked up towards the trees a second too long. The eight-foot wolf chomped into the side of his shoulder, causing him to howl out in pain. Macie wasn't sure why, but she screamed too. Macie's emotions consumed her. She grabbed the first thick branch off the ground could find and whacked the Rouge in the back of the head. Not realizing her strength, she watched as the massive rouge collapsed to the ground and bleed unconscious.

The seven-foot Rogue was pissed and tried to come after Macie. Macie stood up with the bloody branch in her hand, ready to take on the next rogue, "Easy, Human. Too much blood on your hands might make you a sassy Luna."

The white wolf's eyes appeared weak from the bite. His legs wobbled yet he was still trying to protect her, "I am not your Luna, and I think you may need to rest."

"I am perfectly fine. Unlike him." The wolf reached out, and before Macie could say another word, she watched as the rogue's neck snapped in two.

"As I said, Draven, I will never be your Luna!"
