Each day had been filled with twelve hours of running exercises and sparring. The original plan was only a week, but since half the group had zero combat education, Wesley had extended it to a week and a half, and it paid off. Ronnie had finally harnessed her water affinity in combat situations, complimenting Remy's ice. Together the duo was nearly unstoppable, each one fueling the other's talent.   The water had started going cold when the two vampires decided to finally get out of the tub. Seraph set Esper onto the bathroom counter and began drying her off. He was extra attentive, making sure he hadn’t been too rough with her. When he was satisfied with her condition, Seraph wrapped his mate in a fluffy robe and started drying himself.   The soft sounds of snoring flitted about the dark room. Seraph was gently playing with Esper's silver locks as the moonlight beamed across the bed. He loved watching her sleep, and the pearly glow of the moon made her look like a goddess. Ever since he had come back, Seraph lived for these secret little moments. Esper was all his to love and cherish.The young vampire began to stir and grumble, slowly waking up. Her heavy lids slowly opened, and she smiled as she saw her mate, nuzzling her head into his chest. She took in his intoxicating evergreen scent and closed her eyes to try to sneak in a couple more minutes of sleep.

  The night of Esper's birthday had been an absolute blast. She had skated the entire time with her loved ones, and the night was finally winding down. Ronnie pulled the silver-haired vampire into a heated cabana with a table full of gifts."Present time birthday girl," the brunette exclaimed. Esper laughed as she sat in an ornate chair that had been dubbed 'The Birthday Throne.' Ronnie picked up a medium-sized square box wrapped in teal paper and topped with a silver bow.

  The week leading up to Esper's birthday blew by in a flash. The nights were filled with spending time with her mate and friends, and the days were full of dreams of her future. Esper was still sound asleep in her room, daylight peeking through her curtains, when Ronnie came barging in. She ripped the curtains open, causing Esper to do the stereotypical vampire hiss. "Wake up, sleepyhead!""Noooooooo, there is still daylight for me to sleep away." She complained. Ronnie stomped over and ripped the blankets off of her and Seraph. "You have had plenty of sleep. It's why I had Seraph get you to bed so early."

  The trio finally arrived at the ladies’ locker room/spa. The room was filled with different stimulants for all of their senses. The tranquil sounds of a yamatogoto filled the air and was paired with the relaxing scent of jasmine. The girls were soaking in the jacuzzi, charcoal masques covering their faces, and their hair was caked with strawberry masques.“This was definitely needed.” Esper let out a sigh of relief as she let herself sink shoulder-deep into the herb-infused water.
