“Welcome back to The Hot Seat! I am your host Martin Hugo. We would like to thank our previous guest, Amaya Walsh for coming through and giving everyone in the studio audience gift bags, exclusively from House of Maya-to the value of $1000 each, to take home with you tonight. Isn’t she something? Please give it up for her one more time.”
Applause and cheering.
“Tonight we have another special guest-I’ve been well informed he has the worst crush on Amaya Walsh. He is all the way from LA, California. Multi-talented, multi-platinum artist-music’s golden child, voted the sexiest man alive for three consecutive years in a row- please help me welcome the man of the moment: Kyle Kinley!!!
The crowd went bananas. The ladies screamed endlessly. The guys hooted and shouted. It took more than ten minutes for the noise to die down.
“Thank you all so much. I can feel the love. I love you all.” I waved at the audience.
“Take your shirt off!” A female voice shouted from the audience and more women seemed to voice her opinion.
“Take the shirt off Kyle.” Martin nodded his approval. I shrugged and pulled my t-shirt off, throwing it into the crowd.
The audience went into a frenzy once again. I heard wolf-whistles and screams as Martin Hugo ushered me to a couch that was placed in the middle of the stage, directly in front of the audience.
When everyone had quieted down Martin Hugo welcomed me to the show yet again.
“Kyle welcome. We’re so grateful that you could make it.”
“It’s a pleasure to be here.” I smiled.
“So we all know that this has been your year. You have excelled in everything you did. Your album went double-platinum, your movie broke box office records, you’ve won almost every significant music award-so let’s dive straight to the burning question everyone is dying to know: Are you still Hollywood’s most coveted bachelor? Do all the burning hearts of both young and old, single and married women alike-dare they hope that you’re still single and ready to mingle??” Martin threw up his hands.
“Yes, I am.” I nodded.
All the burning hearts screamed with excitement. Seems like there was some potential lol.
“So there’s no special lady out there..waiting in the wings somewhere?”
“No-not yet anyway.” I laughed.
“Tell us about your woman crush? We’ve heard you have been crushing on Amaya Walsh ever since you ran into her a Charity Benefit Fashion Show in Paris.”
“Yes! I have the hugest crush on Amaya! Gosh! She is hotter than summer!”
“Have you made your intentions known?”
“No...I tried to but she didn’t even notice me!” I laughed out loud.
“Well, you might be in luck tonight. We’re going to try and bring her out again- Backstage please check if she is still around”
“Are you trying to play match-maker Hugo?” I looked around my heart pounding.
“Noo-I’m just helping out a friend. Are you nervous?” Martin raised an eyebrow.
“Kind of..” I gave a nervous laugh. "But I'm willing to shoot my shot."
“Well I have it on good authority that she kind of has a crush on you too..well it was a tie between you and Adam Levine.”
“Well, then I win hands down because...Adam is happily married.” I smacked my knee with glee.
“Well, unfortunately... Amaya Walsh has left the building.”

MAYA’S POV
All work and no play means more money in your bank account. That was the mantra that I lived by. I had no time to play, I had enough of that when I was a kid. Sure, I took time out to rest but just enough to recharge and I would dive right back into it, I had to stay on top of the game. Competition was stiff in the fashion and beauty industry and required you to be a step ahead all the time. We had just launched a clothing line and so far it was well-received on the market.
“Your 2 o’clock is here Miss Walsh.” My Executive Assistant Andrew said as he stood at the door, with a questioning look.
“Let her in Andy,” I sighed.
I was beyond exhausted. I had back to back meetings since morning and it was way past lunch. We were launching a new perfume and everything had to be perfect. Well almost... It wasn’t easy running one the biggest fashion and beauty empires in the world over. Competition was stiff and we had to stay at the top.
When I was eighteen, I built this company from scratch and steadily climbed my way up the ladder. I made my first billion when I had just turned 21. I was proud of what I had achieved so far but knew this was only the beginning. That’s what I loved about my work. The thrill. The adrenaline. Developing new products and getting the market to respond positively. Traveling the world, putting together fashion shows, meeting new people, working on new concepts, the list was endless. But recently I was suffering from burn-out and maybe it was time for a break or a change of scenery-or something...
My last appointment just left and my best friend/adopted sister and business partner Rita bust in looking like she was going to burst with excitement.
“Spill,” I said not looking up from my work.
“So guess you heard what happened last night after you left the show?” Rita grinned.
“No.” I continued signing documents.
"The Kyle Kinley confessed that he has a major crush on you! On live television! That’s so romantic My-My. He’s definitely a keeper.” Rita gushed.
“What?? How did I miss that?!” My pen cluttered on the desk as it slipped out of my hand.
“Yep! True story sis. He confessed his undying love just after you left. I have the footage right here..but before I show it to you I have more news!” She sat at the edge of her seat and took a deep breath before her ‘huge’ announcement. “Maya! You will not believe this but-we are going to Capetown, South Africa this weekend!!!” She said excitedly, holding up our itinerary.
I dropped my pen again and sat back in my leather seat, staring at her.
“You don’t seem too excited about this?? Why??” She looked at me skeptically.
I let out a slow audible breath before I answered her. “Rita...I have a lot of important meetings lined up. I can’t just up and leave at a moment's notice, ” I bluntly pointed out.
“But this is about the property that-that you wanted us to snag in line with our expansion efforts... Remember..? I told Andrew to put it in your diary? Plus-before you can say no-it will give us a chance to visit a few of the orphanages there and see how we can help out.” She pouted.
I was orphaned at a very young age and I had a very soft spot for orphans. Rita’s parents took me in and took care of me and raised me as their own daughter. I had set-up and gave donations to various charities to help them in any way that I could. However, I still had to set up a branch in South Africa and now was a good time as any I guess.
I looked at Rita with a serious face and then immediately broke into a smile as I threw up my hands in the air and shouted, ”Capetown here we come!”
She squealed in excitement and came round my desk to give me a bone-crushing hug.
Let’s go!
Make no excuses now, I’m talking here and now, I’m talking here and now
Let’s go!
Your time is running out, I’m talking here and now, I’m talking here and now. It’s not about what you’ve done
It’s about what you doing
It’s all about where you going
No matter where you’ve been, let’s go!
Let’s go!
AMAYA’S POVWe arrived at the hospital earlier than planned and Kyle recognized Richard’s doctor at the Reception area.“Good morning Dr. Bernard.” Kyle greeted him, holding out his hand.
AMAYA’S POVKyle had a beach-front property and it was beautiful. It was a stylish triple-story home with contemporary living and a relaxed flow to a spacious patio; with a rim-flow pool and magnificent, open-views. Securely tucked away, with a unique modern design, which was surprisingly spacious, yet reasonably compact.
AMAYA’S POVWe were in Capetown for about a week and managed to secure both a factory and a shop in a prime location for a fair price. After all the hard work we decided to hit the town and check out the nightlife. Rita had asked our travel agent to recommend a few places that we could go to, so we got ready, called my driver slash bodyguard, Richard Jack, to bring the car to the front. Richard had been with me for a few years now. I trusted him with my life. I usually traveled wi
