LOGINAMAYA’S POV
We arrived at the hospital earlier than planned and Kyle recognized Richard’s doctor at the Reception area.
“Good morning Dr. Bernard.” Kyle greeted him, holding out his hand.
“Good morning Kyle, I see you have come back?” The doctor smiled at him, shaking his hand vigorously.
The young nurses stared at Kyle unashamedly and all of them rushed to crowd around him, squealing and shrieking like high-school cheerleaders, asking for selfies and autographs. Kyle was so gracious and didn’t want to turn them down so he indulged their fantasies for a while.
Meanwhile, I took this as an opportunity to get an update from the good doctor.
“I’m afraid there is a bullet lodged in Richard’s shoulder and upper thigh. We need to operate as soon as his next of kin give us the go-ahead. Does he have any family here?” He inquired.
“Unfortunately, I am the only family that he has.” I furrowed my brows. “Can I sign the Consent Form?”
“If you will follow me to my office, there’s some documentation I would like us to go through as well and you can sign once you’re in agreement.” He said as he walked briskly towards his office.
"Uhmm, what about my friend Rita Anderson? ” I asked, my voice laced with worry.
“Oh, Dr Williams is handling her case. But because of the prolonged lack of oxygen, her heart and her lungs got affected. I will page Dr Williams once we’re done here.” He gesticulated to a chair opposite him and we went through the documents straight away.
Dr Bernard explained everything in a very detailed manner and that put my mind at ease. I put my signature on all the required pages and handed the forms back to him.
“I have paged Dr Williams to come and give you an update for Rita. He should be here at any moment from now.” He smiled trying to reassure me. “Can I get you anything? Coffee? Tea? Water?” He asked as he stood up and made his way to the door.
“No thanks, I’m good,” I shook my head.
“I’ll be right back. Just give me a moment so that I can arrange for Richard’s surgery.” He left and closed the door behind him.
Just then someone else walked in. “Good morning, I am Dr Williams. You must be Amaya Walsh.” It was more of a statement.
“Yes. Good morning Dr.” I smiled shaking his hand.
“I must say you are more beautiful in person... The media does not do you justice.” He gave me a genuine but flirty smile.
“Thanks, Dr, you’re not so bad yourself,” I replied with a laugh.
Dr Williams was very handsome I must say-and young. He looked more like a runway model than a medical doctor, and I told him just as much. He was gracious enough to blush. And he seemed to be single cos there was no ring on his finger. Yes. I checked. Guess it’s force of habit.
“Well, I will get right to it. I know you’re a busy woman..” He slipped onto the seat next to me. “Rita was badly affected by the teargas as you may know and from our tests that we have done so far, we can see that she has a history of lung infections. We are running further tests to rule out cancer...but I do not want you to worry until we know for certain..” He advised, coming around to sit on the edge of the desk; looking at my distraught face.
“So can I see her now?” I stood up ready to go.
“She’s sedated for now, but there’s no harm in just going to see her I guess. Although it’s not yet officially visiting hour until fifteen minutes' time.” He glanced at his watch and led the way. “But I guess we can make an exception.”
As we were making our way to Rita’s room we were stalled by a crowd that had gathered at the reception area to see none other than Kyle Kinley. Dr Williams called security to help disperse the mob.
“Life at the top..” Dr Williams muttered to himself as we watched the thinning crowd.
“Hey, am I glad to see you!” Kyle sighed, as he walked over to us.
“Kyle, this is Dr Williams.” I made the introductions.
“You-you two-two know each other?” The doctor stammered and quickly regained his composure.
“Yeah, we sure do Doc. She’s the love of my life-only she doesn’t know it yet.” Kyle replied, winking at me.
Dr Williams seemed confused but doesn’t say anything. Instead, he gives his attention to Kyle. “Kyle, I think I’m your biggest fan man!” He grabbed Kyle’s hand, shaking it a bit too hard. He placed his other hand on Kyle’s shoulder and took out his phone and quickly snapped a photo.
“Is that so Doc?” Kyle smiled into the camera showing off those irresistible dimples. I understood why people were smitten with him. He was gorgeous. If he was a work of art then he would have been a masterpiece-a rare collection... Even I had to admit it. Kyle Kinley was lust-worthy-an Adonis-Apollo- The perfect man, with a flawless physique-who makes hearts patter and gives girls butterflies in their stomachs with his presence.
“Then you definitely should join us for lunch today. If you’re not too busy that is?” Kyle added.
Dr Williams looked shocked and star-stuck at the same time. “I am never too busy for my favorite superstar!” He answered eaggrinning from ear to ear, still holding onto Kyle’s hand.
“Not him as well..” I whispered to myself, giving myself a face-palm.
“Don’t feel left out babe. I’ve got nuff love for you,. Kyle said, air-kissing me and they both crack-up.
I didn’t find the humor in that. I was anxious to go and see Rita and Richard.
“Sorry to break up this bromance but I reaally need to see my friends. Can we like do that now or can I leave you two to bond some more..?” I ask impatiently, gesturing with my hands.
“Sorry love, I know you’ve been anxious to see them. Do you want me to come with or you need to do this on your own?” Kyle asks with concern.
“I think I can manage on my own, thanks,” I responded.
“Sure? I don’t mind waiting..” He took my hand and gently stroked my hair.
I just nodded unable to speak. Guess I was star-struck as well.
“Let me get a nurse to escort you then we can go for that lunch, Kyle.” Dr Williams cleared his throat. He probably felt like he was intruding on a very intimate moment.
“Sounds good Doc. ” Kyle responded not taking his eyes off me. “Are you going to be okay all by yourself? I can stay?” Kyle said softly, stroking the back of my hand with his thumb.
“I- I will be fine. Just go ahead, ” I replied, flustered.
“I can wait in the car if you’d like? ” He pressed.
“Kyle..you don’t have to-”
“Why don’t we take my car, then Miss Walsh can catch up with us once she’s done here?” Dr Williams breaks in again.
“That would be great- thanks Doc.” I answer quickly, taking the car keys that Kyle had produced from his pocket.
“Give me your phone.” Kyle commanded trying to look serious. “I need to put my number in your phone, just in case you get lost.” He joked.
I hand over my phone to him. He quickly saves his number and beep-calls so that he can save mine as well.
“We going to a place called Cafe Orca, it has great food and has a lovely view of the sea. I’ll get Kyle to send you the GPS coordinates to make it easier for you to locate.” Dr Williams offered.
“Thanks, I would appreciate that.” I smile at both of them and turn to follow the nurse that was kind enough to escort me.
“Try not to miss me too much!” Kyle shouts as they walk away.
“Don’t hold your breath!” I shout back, not bothering to turn around.
“I’m sorry to be forward but.. are you two like together? I mean..like you and Kyle Kinley?” The nurse asked timidly.
“I-”
“You’re so lucky! He’s sooo hot!” She gushed.
“Yeah, I guess he is..” I replied, admitting it more to myself than to her.

AMAYA’S POVKyle had a beach-front property and it was beautiful. It was a stylish triple-story home with contemporary living and a relaxed flow to a spacious patio; with a rim-flow pool and magnificent, open-views. Securely tucked away, with a unique modern design, which was surprisingly spacious, yet reasonably compact.
AMAYA’S POVWe were in Capetown for about a week and managed to secure both a factory and a shop in a prime location for a fair price. After all the hard work we decided to hit the town and check out the nightlife. Rita had asked our travel agent to recommend a few places that we could go to, so we got ready, called my driver slash bodyguard, Richard Jack, to bring the car to the front. Richard had been with me for a few years now. I trusted him with my life. I usually traveled wi
