LOGINSophrona's POV
"So, how do you three know each other?" Hecate asked as she sat on her bed watching Jasmine and I get ready.
"Who, Jasmine, Cahal, and me?" I asked her as I wiped the soapy washcloth all over my face.
"We met in elementary school," Jasmine answered as she brushed her long black hair, "Sophrona and I were in the same kindergarten class when Cahal was in second grade."
"Yeah, you almost ran into me on your way to class," I commented before brushing my teeth.
"But it was good that I almost ran into you because then we wouldn't have become friends," Jasmine pointed out.
"True," I said after spitting out the minty toothpaste into the sink.
"You see, Cahal originally avoided the two of us like the plague when I would come over to hang out with Soph," Jasmine giggled, "Looking back, it was kind of funny."
"He avoided us because you would always go crazy when you saw him because you had a huge crush on him," I said, smirking at her.
"N-no one needs to know that," Jasmine said as her cheeks became a light shade of red.
"The feelings are still there," Hecate giggled.
I let out a dramatic gasp and widened my eyes, "What would Alec say if he knew that?" I asked before Hecate, and I began roaring with laughter.
"I haven't had a boyfriend in a while, okay!" Jasmine shouted, annoyance laced in her voice. The room fell silent. "What do you mean 'in a while'?" I asked her, my face twisted with confusion.
Jasmine sighed and said, "Remember when I told you about me getting in trouble with the law?"
"Yeah," I replied, crossing my arms.
"Well, I was dating this guy named Alexander at the time," Jasmine admitted almost sounding guilty, "I met him at school a little while after you and Cahal were taken. He was nice and treated me well, but then he found out about my activities...."
"He found out about your criminal activity," Hecate quietly confirmed.
"Yes," Jasmine choked, "And once he found out, he not only scolded me, but then he dumped me because he didn't want to associate himself with a criminal." She was balling at this point. I walked over to her and hugged her. "I'm sorry, I didn't know," I apologized as she continued to cry on my shoulder.
"It's okay," she said between sobs, "You didn't know."
"Well, I'm sure any guy here is much ten times better than him," Hecate said optimistically. Jasmine nodded and then sighed.
"I think it's time for you to go to sleep," I suggested, "You look exhausted after all of that crying." Jasmine nodded in agreement. She crawled into her bed and fell asleep within minutes.
Alec's POV
"I can't believe we're roommates now!" I exclaimed as I made my bed.
"I know," Cahal said as he sat on his bed, "It's almost too good to be true."
"Hey, I was wondering something," I told him, "How are you, Jasmine and Sophrona so close?"
"We were close friends when we were younger," he explained, "Jasmine had a crush on me for the longest time."
"No way, really?" I asked him.
"Yeah," he said, "We would also pull a lot of pranks both during and outside school."
"What kind of pranks?" I asked.
Cahal shrugged his shoulders and said, "Oh, you know, the saran wrap over the door, gradually taking away the teacher's pens and pencils and other pranks."
"Did you ever get in trouble?" I chuckled as I sat down on my bed.
"Oh, all of the time," Cahal said humorously, "Mom and dad were furious the first couple times, but after a while accepted the fact that we'd always get into some form of mischief. We became known as the Troublemaking Triplets."
"Your teachers called you that?!" I borderline shouted in shock.
"Oh absolutely," Cahal calmly said as if it wasn't a big deal.
"But you and Jasmine aren't even related," I pointed out, "So, why did they call you that?"
"Probably because our friendship is so tight that people just say that we're siblings," Cahal replied before yawning, "Anyway, I think I'm going to go to bed, good night." And with that, he lowered his body onto his bed and fell asleep.
'Boy, was he tired,' I thought as I crawled into my bed and turned off the lamp on my nightstand.
Unfortunately, I was struggling to fall asleep. I was extremely overwhelmed by the events that occurred today. I met new people, which was nice after being here for six months and not having any human interaction. That was by choice, though, because I'm not much of a social person.
On the other hand, once I make friends, I become more extroverted. I began thinking about all of the friends that I made. Hecate seems to be a little guarded and is quiet most of the time, which makes sense, I mean she's only thirteen. Jasmine seems to be the badass friend who keeps you in check when you're doing something stupid that she doesn't agree with, but would join you if she did. I get the feeling that Sophrona is a mixture of both Hecate and Jasmine solely based on what I've seen and what I've been told. She appears to be shy and timid, but from what Cahal just told me, she's also a wild child and knows how to have fun, even if she was breaking the rules and received many detentions because of it.
I was happy that I met Cahal and his friends because if I didn't, I'm sure I would have eventually gone insane.
I chuckled to myself as I recalled my conversation with Cahal earlier this evening. It sounds like they had a fun childhood until the day they had gotten here. And with that last thought, I rolled over and closed my eyes, allowing sleep to take over me.
Michael's POV:A few months ago:"We're glad that you've decided to join us," Dabria said incredulously. "I'll admit that I was surprised when Mr. Johnson, the head of security here at this facility, approached me and told me how enthusiastic you were about joining us. I was slightly suspicious."
Sophrona's POV:My eyes fluttered open and adjusted to the bright light in the room. Hecate was already awake and was sliding the tray through the hole at the bottom of the door. "There you go," Michael," she chirped, "Thank you for the delicious breakfast!" I groaned as I sat up and rubbed my eyes as I heard footsteps on the other side of the door. I greatly disliked morning people; they're too happy this early in the morning. "You're welcome," Michael replied warmly, "Is Sophrona awake yet? It's almost ten o'clock."
Sophrona's POVI woke up to a loud siren blaring throughout the hallways and rooms as red lights illuminated them. The siren meant one of three things, either someone was trying to break out, someone was trying to break-in, or it was a malfunction....again......It amazes me how often this happens because it happens once a month. At first, we figured it was a drill, mostly because we assumed that because this was a functioning building that they would have some sort of exercise. We were wrong. It wasn't until they got onto the PA system and announced that it was a malfunction, did we realize that t

A few weeks have gone by since my conversation with Hecate. She seems to be adjusting to life here. I introduced her to my brother during recreational time. Yes, we leave our rooms for reasons other than for testing and experimentation. Some of the kids say that the organization does it to show it's funders that they aren't cruel so that they can continue to be funded. Others say it's so that we don't lose our sanity. I, for one, agree that it's all for funding purposes. Hecate and my brother seemed to get along just fine after she got over her shyness. Nowadays, Cahal, Hecate, and I hang out every chance we get. We usually play some sort of game when we're together. However, today we decided just to talk.
Hecate looked intensely at me. I had her undivided attention as she waited for me to tell her how the disease came to be. I turned my head to face the wall opposite where we were sitting.About fifty years ago, a scientist by the name Dr. Andrew Wexner was experimenting to see if there was a way to come up with vaccines for diseases, like the flu, before them mutating. He decided to see if he could create the vaccines from native plants. His original recipe consisted of 5 Curly Dock leaves, the juice from 10 wild raspberries, and a few Queen Anne’s Lace flowers. Unfortunately, while Doctor W
