It is the howling cries of the wolves that woke her up from her deep slumber. She pushed back her duvet, and stepped on the floor with her bare feet. Her white satin dress that was made in Kentoshi town, bought by her Godmother, The Lady of Tornhill, Lady Zelda. She was the only mother she ever had. She was one of the few highborn ladies who were able to marry the man she loves. She’s married to Lord Rey Torn for 17 years, just like her mother and father. Lady Zelda met the young Lord Rey in the Academy when they were 14 years old. It was love at first sight. Once you meet your soulmate, destiny will find a way. No one can deny the two souls to be with each other. Lady Zelda’s words to her, it engraved both in her mind and heart. That’s why it hurt her that her father would even defy her of marrying the one she loves. She laughed to herself. I haven’t even met the man I will love and yet here I am, so loyal to him that it hurts me I’ll be marrying someone else. She thought. Maybe her subjects are her soulmate. It should be enough for her to agree to marry her cousin Kai. The Aramea’s threats are getting bigger, and she knows that she won’t be able to defend the Kingdom she grow up without the alliance from Galapornea. Lapornea have dragons, and their power can be used to defend her and her people. Though not all of the Lapornea are that powerful. It was only her grandfather, the late King Khael who can control fire. Her uncle, King Aero IV, has the power of the storm and thunder.

It was her favorite dress to sleep in. After all, it was the only thing that could make her feel close to the Enchanted Academy of Unseen Arts. She smooths down her dress. She opens her curtains, and padded towards her vanity table. She pushed open her drawer, and grabbed her journal. She was about to grab her pen from the ink cup, when she suddenly felt the weight on her shoulder. She turns around. Her eyes wandered the enormous space of her chamber room, but no one was there. She was alone, but the feeling of being stared is still engraved in her gut. She ignores the feeling, and tells herself she must still be sleepy. She started to write her every midnight routine in her journal.

No one must know about your power, or you’ll be in great danger.

Lysa’s voice fills her mind. She doesn’t exactly know why she would be in danger? Her magic is harmless to anyone. The cold breeze tousled Priscilla's hair and pinked her cheeks. The warmth that had been in the wind just last week had either evaporated into the sky or leached into the earth. She turned to look at her windows, it was still closed. Her brows furrowed with confusion as to where the air came from. That’s when she knew that there’s another presence in her room. Someone that has been there 4 days ago, who keeps watching her. She turns around in a frantic motion. Her eyes alarmed. On her left hand is her pen, holding it as if it was a dagger that she can use to attack her intruder. She looked everywhere, but she still couldn't see anything.

“You’re scared,” said a voice, with an amused tone. She looked where the voice came from, but there was no one. Not even a hint of shadow.

“Who’s there?” The Princess shouted, and raised the pen. It chuckled.

“I demand you make your presence known!”

The Princess slowly saw the intruder’s form, it was  like a fairy dust falling from the sky, it slowly filled its shape. The princess gasped.

“You’re a Darkhunter,” she said in surprise at the sight of the intruder. As he was the tallest man she ever seen in her 16 years of life. Her grey eyes landed on the enormous necklace he bore around his neck. His hair was darker than night itself. He has pale skin that compliments his ocean blue eyes. The Darkhunter smirked, knowing that the girl already knew what he is. He knows the rules, and he must introduce himself.

“I am Xander, and I was commanded to bring you to the High Priest of Morgenstern Clave.”

“I thought Darkhunters are just urban legends.” she mutters under her breath, her eyes were on his scar on his left brow that almost reached his eyes.

“All the legends are true,” he said, as a matter of fact. Her father just refused to let his only daughter believe in the existence of magic and the people who have it. He loathes magic.

“But, aren’t you too young to be a Darkhunter?”

“I’m old enough,” He said, annoyed. “I thought princesses were taught how to shut their mouth and only open it when asked upon?” his question was obviously a retaliation to her question. But, she didn’t intend for him to be offended, she was just simply seeking answers since her mentors refused to give her more knowledge.

“You sounded like my father.” she said,

“Then, maybe, you should have listen to your father,”

“He wanted me to marry my cousin, Kai.” The princess said in a low voice.

“And, I take it, you don’t want to marry him,”

The Princess couldn’t get rid of her eyes from him. She looks at him from head to toe. She is still in awe of his presence. Everyone keeps telling her, even the Maestra and the Master, that Darkhunters no longer exist and yet here he stands in front of her. Xander let out an impatient sound when he noticed that the Princess was not paying any attention to what he said. He sighs, and cast her to sleep.

The princess’ knees go weak, she falls gracely on the floor. Her hair was sprawled on the floor, and some of it covered her face. Xander lowers both of his knees, and scoots her on his arms. Her head fell back, and he was given a full view of her face.

“What could the High Priest probably want from this little girl?” Xander asked himself out loud. He shut his eyes closed. He wasn’t supposed to question what was commanded of him, but obey it.

The Handmaiden was crossing the Princess’ room back and forth, as she tries to convince that marrying Prince Kai isn’t a bad thing. “Marrying your cousin Kai shouldn’t be a bad thing, your highness,” says Lysa. Priscilla buried her face in her pillows. Shaking her head. “Did you not tell me that you wanted to be close with your mother’s family?”She unburies her face, and looks at her handmaiden with incredulous look, “Yes!” She exclaims, “But, I didn’t say that I want to marry my cousin.” She throws her hands in the air. Annoyed with both herself, and her father. Who never gave her a choice.“As much as I wanted to help you, Cilla. But I am as helpless as you are. The King will have my head if I intrude with his plan.” Lysa sighed.
