He headed straight for her. His hunger had not yet been satisfied. But he had to make sure the young woman was okay. He'd already suspected it wasn't a good idea to leave her here all alone. And he really hadn't moved very far. Warren came to a stop right in front of his bed, in front of Lany. She seemed to be in shock because she did not move, but sat upright and still breathed - "Thank gods" -. That was really close. He should have been fucking careful. But this wouldn't have happened in the first place if he hadn't taken her with him. "What a damn crap !!!"

Warren didn't even dare touch Lany, let alone speak to her. He just stood motionless in front of her for a while. When she still didn't move, he tried a little push. "Ms. Briscott? ... Lany? Are you all right? ”Hm, somehow he had just experienced it recently. And again she began to move very slowly and finally looked in his direction.

"Warren? Warren, what just happened? Lany's voice almost cracked, so she was caught in her panic. It was a miracle she could even speak. “You were gone - you left me alone! Oh my god - I almost died. Something was in here trying to attack me and then ... then a huge black shadow jumped through the window and fought with the other. It was all so unbelievable - I was so terrified. ”Lany couldn't calm down and became more and more hysterical in her torrent of words.

Warren didn't know what to do next. He didn't want her to be scared, and she was absolutely right that she almost died. But even now she wasn't sure. He could only keep his insides in check with great difficulty. And yet he also felt this immense urge to want to comfort this disturbing woman. He couldn't help it. Once again, his mind and his body were of different opinion, only now his feelings mixed in. It was clearly 2-1 and his mind lost the fight.

After he had clarified this for himself, he carefully sat down next to Lany on the bed. Always careful not to scare her even further. “Oh man, that incredible smell! How am I supposed to control myself and hold back my hunger? ”Warren was really in a bind. He had never noticed anything like it. Her smell made him feel incredibly hungry. So strong that it almost hurt. And yet he forced himself to reach out and pull Lany to his chest as gently as possible. After all, it had worked for her before. Warren stroked Lany's shoulder in small circles, reassuringly. Over and over again, until he no longer even noticed that he was doing it. And slowly she calmed down. Lany had leaned her head on his shoulder and was breathing calmly and evenly again. A long time passed, but they remained seated. Neither of them wanted to give up their position. Lany not because she found Warren's presence incredibly comforting - she just felt safe with him - and Warren because he was struggling with feelings that were previously completely unknown to him and which apparently had to do with the very woman who was now in his arms lay. What should he do?

....

“At some point she will show up here. Sooner or later she has to show up here! ”He was absolutely convinced of that. That measly travel agent had finally told him. And how his eyes had shone. Just disgusting! It was too obvious that this little worm was after her. But she was his! His sweet little Lany. When they were back he would have to go back to this guy. Yes, he would definitely do that. He would make an example of him. And at the end of this trip, Lany would finally get rid of her shyness. They would be together and he would finally be there. His patience would no longer last. He'd given her more than enough time, after all, and ensnared her with all the stuff she loves so much.

This old, fuzzy native couldn't help him either. She said that in the last few days no planes had returned where tourists were on board. She assured him that such a pretty young woman as he described her would have been noticed immediately. But somehow he didn't believe her. As she spoke, the old woman kept looking around her little bar. It looked like she was looking every single guest straight in the eye. Just like she was talking to them. Something was really wrong here. But he would find out some time soon. He was persistent and could wait - wait a very, very long time. For now he sat down with his stale beer at one of the empty tables near the entrance. This place was inconspicuous and you could keep an eye on everything from here.

Meanwhile, Rosa was cleaning the bar again and again. She was nervous. Warren had disappeared hours ago with the young woman. So you were safe for now. But this weird guy looking for his wife gave her a headache. She was uneasy about him and she didn't believe for a second that the woman she was looking for was actually his fiancée. Out of the corner of her eye she secretly observed him as he sat at his table and apparently stared holes into his beer glass. Anyone else would probably have assumed so too. But by the tiny movements of his eyes she could see very well that he was also observing his surroundings closely. Rosa just hoped that her other guests, all of whom were long-time friends of hers, understood her look from earlier and kept their mouths shut as much as possible. Otherwise they would probably all end up in hell's kitchen.

It was very late now and he couldn't sit here all night. And at night certainly no airplane with tourists would land here - in the middle of nowhere. So he might as well ask around for a room to stay overnight. Since he doubted that this establishment could offer any more rooms, even guest rooms, he only briefly put the money for his beer on the counter and asked about possible accommodations in town. The old woman seemed very relieved that he did not want to stay here and willingly gave him directions to the local guesthouse. There would be no hotel or other guest rooms here. He would keep an eye on this old woman. Something was wrong with her.

This creepy man had finally left her little pub. He wanted to spend the night in town, but at least he wouldn't wander around looking for the young woman and Warren. That way she could keep an eye on him. After he left, Miguel and Carlos came over to the bar. They had already spent the whole evening in the pub and also watched this stranger. It was immediately clear to them that something was wrong. Pink never behaved so conspicuously inconspicuously. And now that the air was clear, they immediately wanted to know what was going on.

Rosa told her two friends what had happened. Miguel and Carlos had known Warren since he was a very small stray. And when most of his clan moved into town, they both made it their business to take care of him. Of course he hadn't needed protection for a long time - especially not from two aging old men. But still, regardless of whether he smiled at them for it, they still saw it as their special duty. His father would probably at least tear their heads off otherwise. After all, he was the clan leader.

Everything was calm again. Well, insofar as one could speak of calm in a jungle. A couple of monkeys scurried by right next to Warren's house and other animals relaxed more and more. The danger was over - for now.Lany sat very still and listened for the noises that were so completely different and yet somehow familiar. She just didn't know why. Also, she only realized now that she was still clinging to Warren. She hadn't felt so safe with anyone since early childhood. And either Warren was asleep by now or he was enjoying the quiet get-together with her too. She couldn't really imagine the latter, however. Because it was only too obvious that he hadn't wanted to take her with him in the first place. It was only because Rosa had told him, no, even ordered, that she was here now.Lany still couldn't believe what almost happened. Of course it was dangerous in the jungle. She had already realized that when she booked the trip. But then being co

While Rosa was finishing her report, one of the two always listened for the noises outside the bar. Not that this stranger secretly overheard her and found out that Rosa knew more than she had told him. But nothing could be heard. He really seemed to have gone to his quarters. Better for him - they decided. It was only early morning when he woke up in that shabby little room, in the shabbier bed. But what do you not endure to achieve your goal? The first rays of sun fell through the dirty window and he decided that he had waited enough. True to the motto: Only the early bird catches the worm, he dressed and went down to the reception. He hoped that there would at least be breakfast here that wouldn't give you one or the other unpleasant bowel disease. When he got downstairs, he was surprised that someone was actually already working here. A young woman stood behind the counter, leafing through a tattered newspaper. He asked for breakfast and

  • The Darkness In Him   The danger

There was no sound as the huge big cat moved smoothly through the underbrush. Everyone in her immediate area knew she was hunting. All of their potential victims had retired to their hiding places so as not to end up as their snack.Quietly and very skillfully, four huge black paws made their way through the forest. In between the panther stopped and listened. It was a magnificent animal. Bigger and stronger than its other kind and as black as the blackest night. Anyone who caught such an animal among all the poachers would have cared for for his life. But until now no one had ever caught him. The big cat didn't miss the slightest sound. High above him he heard the monkeys scurrying softly through the branches. Shortly before him, a little mouse ran quickly into its cave. And again and again a very special scent rose in his nose, but he seemed to feel that he was not allowed to follow it. Therefore, he moved purposefully in the opposite direction.

  • The Darkness In Him   Tired

Lany was getting more and more tired. She stumbled the whole time and fell every few meters over the numerous roots that so "helpful" stretched out of the ground towards her. She didn't even know how long they had been wandering through this forest and still they hadn't reached Warren's camp. Maybe he was lost? After all, she couldn't put one foot in front of the others and just turned over from exhaustion.“Oh man, I was just missing that. Such a crap. Why couldn't I just leave her with Rosa. Then this guy would have found her! So what? What is it to me? In any case, I would have finally had my peace. But no, I had to play the great hero. I really had to take her with me, and now? ”While Warren shouldered the exhausted Lany, he mumbled to himself and didn’t let any good hair on himself. It annoyed him too much and he just couldn't understand what had made him want to help this woman and finally take her with him.She was s

Finally Lany looked in the direction of the door and saw that Rosa had just entered the hallway and bolted the door. She came up to them both and looked worriedly at Lany. Then Rosa turned her gaze to Warren alone for a moment and then, without saying a word, moved to the other, locked door to open it. After entering the small room herself, she waved to Warren and Lany and pointed to another door in that room. Warren gave her a briefly startled expression, but it vanished as quickly as it had appeared. Maybe Lany was just wrong about that. Rosa whispered something to Warren before letting them both outside through the door just shown. They seemed to be at the back of the building now and it seemed that Warren knew exactly what to do. Lany followed without resisting. They were moving fast so Lany could barely keep up with him. And since it was already dark, Warren was careful to keep them in the shadows. Nobody should discover them, nobody should even suspect that they had jus
