Chapter 2

“ Dude did you get shorter “ was the first thing he said to me, making my smile falter.

 “ Hey Jacka- “ my sister pinched me making me realize our parents were behind us. 

“Ehm I mean it isn’t my fault that you continue to keep growing”

“ Geez, “ I said  before he slapped my head

It's at moments like this that I’m happy that my crush on him is coming to its end.

I tried not to get mad at him and instead spoke

“ We should head in guys”.

“ Oh yeah let us go “  My sister agreed with me trying not to show her excitement. I chuckled before we began to walk into the forest.

I trailed behind my parents and his as the trail there had been one only a truly gifted wolf could see. If you weren’t careful it would lead you straight into danger. It would take you to the highest place and push you off the edge. It also didn’t help that the whole trail was masked and it would change one by one. We were a very protective kind, much more than any other were- being. so this was just the first of many tests to come.

I sighed as I continued closely behind them. Their conversation became one of remembrance. as talk of the M.R Rituals began. I couldn't help but laugh as Jax's dad began talking about his playboy ways. His mother nudging him on his side and glaring.

" So that were you get it from," I said looking up at Jax. he smiled down at me. 

" Mr.casanova junior" I rolled my eyes

chucking before he spoke.

“ of course, I mean you don't look this way without-"

I quickly put my hand over his. 

“ stop just stop I don't want to know”.

All the rumors of what he could do and Whom he did do. I didn't need a reminder plus with the sweet scent casting the area. Being inhaled by me with each passing second I couldn't risk the truth slipping out., not now not ever.

 I could feel his smirk under my hand. his eyes shining as the sun hit him. That pretty caramel coloring in his eyes. His eyes practically glowing. Like a gem, in the right light, his eyes could be everything.

My heart skipped a beat. That was when I felt it. his tongue on my hand. I could feel my cheeks heating up. I swiftly pulled my hand away and glared at him. before walking ahead of him.

 " what if you can't take it then don't put your hands where there don't belong"

"yyy- you, you per-" he interrupted me.

" oops your stuttering again," he said, bending over me making everyone look back.

"if your gonna flirt do it late:" azz said

" We are nOt" I yelled, my voice slipping causing it to go higher at the end.

Everyone just laughed as I started plotting my revenge.

I waited until everyone turned around. I sighed as I tried to compose myself again.

As we were all heading in I stumped on his foot before trailing ahead. I had won this round but man I never knew where he got his confidence especially as a half breed. I had supposed he got it from his MOm. she had been human and been brave enough to marry a wolf. Many humans wouldn’t do that. It was a suicide in many ways. I breathe in before turning back to see him glaring at me.

 Soon I was sticking my tongue out at him, his eyes flaring as I dared him to make a move. Which he of course wouldn’t.
