Arden got out his tent, seeing all people is disbanding their tents, so he did the same thing.
After disbanding all the tents, they got on their horse and continue searching for a way to go back.
At this point, this can't be called a hunt anymore. Many of them have unequipped their armour because that armour is so heavy.
They asked several people about direction when they met one.
After a few hours on their horse, they got to a place of clearing and they decided to take a rest.
A few people decided to gather some fruits to eat, Arden with Ady did the same.
While climbing a tree at the forest, Arden saw something he can't believe.
An encampment, with an unknown flag with black colour and a bear in red, coloured in red in the middle.
"That flag's symbol seems familiar" he then remembers about the symbol on the collar on the giant bear before.
And then he saw something. The villager the group asked for directions before.
At a far distance, he saw black smoke with fire rampaging through the buildings.
Arden makes a conclusion, it must be the village of that villager.
He then climbs down from the tree and quickly goes to the place the group is resting and informed everyone.
Everyone is shocked and Arden took some of them to see the encampment.
When they got there, they saw many people at a high pole with several arrows embedded in their body.
"I remember that flag, it must be barbarian, but why are they here?" said one of the knight, honestly, everyone doesn't know.
Everyone rushed back and made a plan, some plan to fight them, some plan to go back to the city using the direction they have been told to.
They decided to use their armour first, then continue planning.
Then, there is an arrow coming from the woods, then a battle sound is heard.
All people are forced to fight included Arden, the enemy fought like they are bloodthirsty.
Fortunately, the knights came out at the top. Many are injured but the enemy casualties are much higher.
They decided to go back to the city after giving first aid to the injured.
They rode as fast as possible on their horses to the city.
What the villager told them is the truth. They reached the city in the afternoon.
After arriving, most knights told their companion to go inside the city and stay in case of the barbarians.
His companion asked him about what happened to him so he told them all things that happened.
After that, he goes to his room and lies down on his bed. After 2 tiring days, Arden can finally have a good rest at his soft bed.
He woke up in the morning and heard many noisy sounds and decided to look outside from his window.
When he opened the curtain, he was shocked when he saw an army besieging the city.
He quickly gets out of his bed and wears his armour and then rushed out of the bedchamber.
Many of the knights are going to a place, so he decided to go there too.
When he arrived in a room where many people are sitting on a table, he decides to take a sit too.
There is one knight is explaining something about barbarians besieging the city with 1000 people.
With all the combined people, they only have about 400 people close to 500. Outnumbered by almost 600 people, they have no choice other than defending the city.
Fortunately, these barbarians don't have advance siege equipment, only a log of a tree for ramming the gate and many ladders.
Then they got dismissed from the room and sent to the wall to fight.
At the wall, Arden saw the archers took out many of their soldiers since their soldiers lack of armour but now with skill.
The first round of people charging carrying ladders on their hand goes taken out by the archer.
The second, however, made it to the wall and killed a little portion of people but almost got taken out when the fighting is happening.
The third round of people climbed while the people are still fighting.
Arden seeing this, decided to kick the ladder and fight in the front line.
Then a big guy with a long beard already having rampage and killing the defenders saw Arden kicking the ladders.
He charged with his shield at the front of him at Arden after knowing Arden is an important person judging by his armour.
Arden saw him charging decide to evade out of his way and tried to hit the back of his head to knock him out after knowing he is an important person.
The guy parried Arden's attack with his sword and then counterattack, fortunately, Arden have his shield to block the incoming attack.
They attacked each other for some time then an arrow hit the barbarian's body.
Arden decided to hit the barbarian's head on the back and then secure the barbarian at a safe place.
Unlike the normal ways of siege, these barbarians prefer to do it as fast as possible.
Meaning there is no time given to the defenders to rest.
However, they failed after half a day of fighting on the walls, many of them got killed some got captured and some of them ran away.
Arden goes to bed after delivering the prisoner he captured and cleaning himself.
He woke up because he was called to the room when the feast first started.
There is some food at the table but not a fancy one. Sir Aswick then goes up to the stage.
"it has been a hard time for us, we have been through many things together. Now I announce the feast has ended, you are free to go back to your land now" everyone gave a round of applause and cheers, they ate for the last time in the city.
Many people said good-bye to the duke and goes back to their land worrying about the barbarians attacking their land too.
Arden did the same and gather his companion before leaving the city.
With this, the feast of Aswen has ended!
