Many got killed by the archers and the half of the cavalry just doing nothing inside the city.
Arden helped on the wall too, killing many enemies he saw and helping the other soldiers that are being pinned down.
3 hours straight fighting at the wall and the enemy decided to retreat. Enemy casualties being a good 3 thousand and their own being 800.
Arden decided that they will lose if they keep doing it like this. 2 months have passed since the first large attack.
Many more small skirmishes happened and then came the second attack.
The same as the first attack but they are more ready. The city can hold out for 1 more month before the food is gone.
The barbarians attacked the wall, this time though, Arden is ready with half of the cavalry and half of the knight.
After a good 1 hour of soldiers fighting in the wall, Arden opened the door and charged out.
He and others ride their horse and attacking the enemy. Many of them flee and the others just rushed to the camp.
In the midst of battle, he saw a big flag in the middle of the camp and a big man using better armor than others.
This must be someone important to the enemy's army. Arden thought.
Riding cisco, he spurs the horse and tried to lance the man, but failed. Instead, the man grabbed Arden and then forced him to goes straight to the ground.
He was still shocked and then realized what happened, he made a defensive stance and waited for the man to attack.
The man with his giant axe did a over head attack but Arden is quicker, he managed to dodge and attacked him on the torso.
They are both dueling for a good 15 minutes before the man started attacking aggressively and given out many opening to Arden.
Arden slashes that man in the stomach while the man was making an overhead attack.
The man, however, did not die. He called his guards to protect him while he is retreating.
The guards start attacking Arden and he is quickly overwhelmed. Fortunately, many knights came to aidArden and kill all the guards quickly.
But the man is long gone when the knights killed all the guards. And the siege camp is burned down the casualties on the enemy side are 6000, meanwhile, on Arden side, it's only 1300.
After the battle, the nobles are gathered to a meeting. After the meeting, they decided to retreat to another city and abandon this city.
4 months have passed since they abandon the city before and moved to a new city.
All the time they are in the city, the barbarians burned down and pillaged many villages.
Arden couldn't stand it anymore, so one day, he gathered all the nobles to a meeting Arden came up with a dangerous strategy, he will takes his army using the mountain route and then go straight and held the barbarian king a hostage.
At first, both dukes disagreed, that's too dangerous to do and too risky too, but Arden said.
"We can't delay anymore, on the long term war, we will surely suffer defeat"
