2020-09-18 23:00:08After the long meeting, the knights finally found a solution, but now they need to think about the funds to build all the things.
'where to get all the funds?' Arden thinks to himself, "let's talk about the funds now and how to raise them" he declared while making a serious face.
Everybody is just shocked and taken aback by what he said. They clearly haven't thought anything about the funds.
But then, someone raised their hands to ask the question. He made a chuckled sound while doing this.
"What funds?" that person asked straight forward to Arden.
'What kind of question is that' Arden thought to himself with the confused looks on his face.
"We normally just take the money from the poor" someone said this bluntly and with a really heavy sound.
The others nodded to confirm what that person said is true. Arden started to explain where the funds came from, not from the poor but from the rich like theirself.
"You guys really are in the wrong way of thinking. We can't just take the money of people that worked in fields all day long!" Arden said that in a very serious voice.
"Who taught you to do that?" Arden asks them while making the posture of someone that's about to screw the way of nobility that works in this land.
"The previous owner of this land taught us to do that, everybody that does not comply will get some trouble and will go bankrupt," the person that said to just took from the poor said this.
'The previous owner sure has a lot of problems with his way of thinking' Arden thought while thinking how to do it in the right way.
But first, he needs to know what kind of person that owns this land before him.
"Can someone explain to me who owned this land before me?" Arden asked bluntly to the others.
They all explained that he is a cruel man, full of corruption. There is once a peasant not doing something he wants and the very next day, that peasant was hanged for something like being a traitor.
What's more interesting, that person was actually at Northim when Arden crushed the rebellion there. Probably that person is connected to Ambrosious.
What's more, half of the man's populations are missing while all of those things occurred.
'This is more problematic than the other 4 problems' Arden thought to himself.
He needs to go to the city of Riet and talk to the prisoner of war there. At the battle in the field, not much enemy was killed. Many fled and end up getting captured.
'i don't want this to happen again...' Arden was thinking of lecturing about how they are going to raise the fund and someone raised their hands
"Lord Arden, I want to volunteer to help raise the funds," he said while making eye contacts with Arden.
Arden directly knew that he is serious of this and not just joking around. The others did the same. Arden buried the thought of lecturing at the deepest part of his mind and question started to come up.
"Ooooh? Did I heard something wrong?" Arden said while raising one of his eyebrows.
"We... We... We don't like how the previous things work" they said it in a very little sound almost unheard.
"Okay then, I accept all of your help" with a big smile in his face, Arden said that.
"I declare the meeting ends now, go back to what you were doing at the first place" while making the gesture of telling everybody to go.
Some days later...
Arden received a lot of money totalling in 3000 aurens. He started dividing where the money would go.
1000 would go to the building of the bridge because it's the hardest thing to do.
600 would go for improving the irrigation for the farming area.
800 would go to the making of several new houses for the homeless.
And the rest 600 would go to the repairing of the keep.
It has been almost 1 and a half years on the battlefield. Finally, Arden could go back and see his family. He thought to himself while looking at all the memories.
The construction of all those things has been going for a month already. It's not uncommon for him to see the progress of things with his own eyes.
One day, he was just looking at the construction site when he heard 2 middle-aged women gossiping behind him.
"you look at our lord, he is such a great man. He improved a lot of things for us," at first, Arden was feeling like a public figure, but then...
"but his wife hasn't made any child yet" from feeling like a public figure to the feeling of him suck on that kind of things.
'pain without bleeding is real' he thought to himself.
So at that very night, he did that thing with Valen again with the hope of getting her pregnant.
He kept trying and trying 1 and a half month later. Valen has some kind of weirdness, she began to vomit in the morning and all kinds of that stuff.
'maybe this is some kind of illness?' Arden thinks to himself. So he brought her to a doctor.
He was worried that bad things may happen to his wife when the doctor just smiled.
"Congratulations, you are going to be a father," the doctor said that to Arden.
His expression changed from worried to happiness.
"how many months since she is pregnant?" he asked like he knew what he is talking about.
"at least 2 months" the doctor answering Arden's question.
After knowing this, Arden starts spending more and more time with his wife. But he still needs to manage the lands.
It has been two-and-a-half months since all the construction at Aerdy started, the irrigation is almost complete and the reparation of the keep is actually done.
'what about having a date with my wife?' he thinks to himself one day.
So he asked Valen to come with him. Both of them walked at the busy street at the town of Ailreh while many congratulated the couple that they are expecting soon.
At the end of the day, they both got to the hill and watched the beautiful sun setting.
