The End Of War And Being Knighted

2020-09-03 23:00:33All that nobles and soldiers gathering turn out to be a waste of time for the Kingdom Avalon side. Fearing they would lose, the king of Bisvirb sent a messenger to the 3 great dukes.
It contains the intention of the king of Bisvirb to not clash with the Avalon’s side. The 3 great dukes in their tents thought about it, ‘It would be no good for us to lose this much good men, would be best to make peace!’
And just like that, the peace negotiation were decided to happen for both side. With their horses and just some guards, the 2 commander of the both army.
For the case of Kingdom of Avalon is the 3 great dukes and for the Kingsom of Bisvirb is their own king and one great dukes. Met in the middle of the field and talks on the horseback.

40 minutes later
The 3 great dukes returned safely to their army and quickly signal with their hands to their Army commanders. The commanders surround each of their liege as their liege whisper to them.
Not long after that, they turn around and with a loud voice, shouted to all the soldiers there, “Gather here! Soldiers!”
The soldiers of each army gathered in front of their commanders and waited for them to tell them something. It was unexpected but the news finally come, “We are going back home! The war have ended here!”
The soldiers cheers knowing they don’t need to fight and soon they found their selves in a long columns. Traveling toward the fortress that is given to them from the King of Bisvirb, Fortress of Castro.
A few days over the week is needed to travel to the fortress and soon they all found their selves partying and dancing in the small patch of green fields surrounding the fortress right after they reached the place.
Some talks about their family, some drinks and talk about their future. It was all the normal things they did at that time, including the 2 boys that is now 18.
Their tales as squire while participating on one of the wars that would go down in history just they were a little older than 14 years old would be told another time.
For now, they drank alcohol for the time that could be counted with fingers in 1 hand. They were weak from it and soon fell to the ground, sleeping on the cold hard ground like the others.

In the mornings, they were woken up to the sound of the other soldiers. Arden opened his eyes and saw the other soldiers surrounding him, one of them even has a bucket of water on his hand.
He quickly got up as the water from the bucket flow right to the targeted place. He was lucky enough to dodge that but his best friend isn’t.
He was soaked in water as the other soldiers quickly closed their nose and said, “Jeez, these young boys reek of alcohol,”
Ady quickly stood up after his face was hit by water and so did Arden. Not even a second after they both stood up, a soldier quickly take their arms and said to them, “Quick, we need to prepare them! They would be a knight just in matter of hours”
The 2 boys were sleepy enough to not hear that at all but soon they both were bathed by the others soldiers that is like their family. Just a few minutes later, they used fancy clothes and Is heading toward the fortress courtyard.

Once the 2 of them were there, one of the army commander smiled and greeted them, “Hey, ready to be knighted? WE need to hurry to the castle as fast as possible, they are already waiting”
Just by this point of time, the 2 boys suddenly realized something, they looked at each other while shivering and their feet are trembling from the excitement.
They followed the commander and as he opened the big door of the keep, they could see countless of nobles standing at the side. The 3 great dukes are in the middle of the room and smiled as soon as they saw the 2 boys.
Sir Aswick quickly gave the 2 boy the order, “2 young boys! Please come forward ‘cause soon you would be knighted and be the part of knight’s force, either for the kingdom or for the people!”
Didn’t take them any other action or second to step forward toward the 3 mighty noble standing in front of them. Once they were in front of the 3 dukes, Sir Aswick once again gave them an order, “Kneel!”
Arden and Ady quickly kneeled down upon the orders as the 3 great dukes unsheathed their swords. They placed it in the gap between the 2 boy’s shoulder and asked them.
“Today, will be the day of 2 mighty knight and perhaps a noble, would be born” It was the voice of Sir Rakham, the nobles witnessing that claps to the point that it echoes in the room.
“Let’s begin the ceremony” Sir Valencio said while the 2 boys is still kneeling and their head facing toward the ground.
They were given instructions for the ceremony, “For the 2 young boys here, say yes I will when you swear to uphold your answer toward the series of 3 questions that determined if you are willing or not”

A few seconds later, they were given the 3 series of questions, “Will you protect the kingdom with your life and protect the king with all your heart?”
The 2 young boys shouted as they gave their answer enthusiastically, “YES, I WILL!”
Then the second question came, “Will you protect the people of the kingdom, be righteous and guard the peace of this kingdom?”
They once again shouted enthusiastically, “YES, I WILL!”
Then the third! “Will you uphold all the law and justice even if there is a big obstacle in front of your eyes that may risks your life?”
And ONCE AGAIN, they shouted enthusiastically, “YES, I WILL!!”
“Then today, as the countless of mighty and great nobles that have gathered here, I will make you Sir Arden” The 3 great duke move their swords that still teaching each other above Arden’s head as they said this.
“And you, will be the great noble, Sir Ady of Hamsville!” They said this as they moved the 3 great swords above Ady’s head.
“Today, the 2 young boys is no longer boys for the nobles matter, they would be the 2 mighty men since this day” The people clapped after the ceremony have ended.
Just a few seconds after that, Sir Aswick said to the whole room, “My best gratitude for those who can participate, you may leave this room now, I’m sure there are many important matters”
The nobles there starts to leave the room as well as the 2 other great dukes. Arden and Ady looked at the duke’s straight to his eyes before turning back and was about to make their first step.
They were stopped by a hand placed on their shoulder and quickly turns around. It was the smiling face of Sir Aswick as he quickly drop his hand from their shoulders and slip it to his pocket.
He took out 2 letter and gave it one to Arden and the other one to Ady without saying a words and just left the keep. Leaving the 2 men standing there confused and not knowing what letter it was.
Soon, they began examining it and noticed the current red royal stamp. They raised their head and looked at each other with their eyes glowing.
Arden were too excited that he accidentally opened his mouth and let out a big sound, “It seems that we both are being called to the King! Let’s open the letter!”
They both open their owns letter and read it without making a sound. The contents of the letter was practically the same, asking the 2 men to come to the capital.
They were becoming more and more excited when one of them quickly asks the other, it was Ady, “What date that you need to face the king?”
Arden quickly read backs the letter while making a sound about the date, “1st April, Year 551…”
Ady’s eyes widen as he heard the date and said to his best friend, “That’s like 5 days from now, you really need to hurry! Usually takes 3 days to reach the capital from here!”
“Oh sh*t” This is the only thing that came out of Arden’s mouth before he rushes out of the keep, followed by Ady closely and prepare his horse and asks Ady to ask the chef for some food.
Soon, he found himself on the horseback of the same horse he bought 4 years ago. Ready to go to go to the capital as the 3 great dukes and his best friend, Ady were waving at him at the gate.
As soon as he pass the gate, he is free to roam the kingdom or simply be a noble by aking a small village out of nowhere...
