War Against Bisvirb

2020-09-02 23:00:57The troops from the army of the Duke of Aswen, sir of Aswick have surrounded the Fortress of Castro. They began making siege camp and the engineers began making the siege weapons from the nearby woods.
While all of that was happening, Arden were doing his duty as the squire of a nobleman. Making the tent with the other squire that is also his best friend.
They were about to be done when a voice suddenly calls them, “Hey Ady! Arden! Enter the duke’s tent after you are done”
Arden shouted back at the voice’s direction, “Okay!!” before returning his focus towards building the tent for the duke with Ady.
After the 2 young boys were done, they placed their tools on the ground and rushes inside to the duke’s tent. There they saw 5 other people standing there and talking to each other while pointing on the single map on the table.
The people inside heard the small sound of the cloth that acts as the door of the tent being moved and quickly looked at the direction of it. Their hands were on their swords and was about to unsheathe it.
Once they saw the 2 squires of the duke, they sighed before staring at them and waits for the duke to explain his strategy. “Ah, here you come my 2 squire, I have a mission for one of you in 3 more nights…”
Arden and Ady looked and nod to each other before walking toward the duke’s direction.

That night, Arden is using full black clothes and about to sneak into the castle and saw the guard on the walls and courtyard, ‘Sh*t, I didn’t know why I want to do this instead of letting Ady doing this for me….’
He then remembered the scene from 3 days earlier…

After the 2 young boys is in front of the Sir Aswick himself. Sir Aswick went around the table where the map is located and kneeled in front of them with one knee. He then placed both of his hand on both of the 2 boys’s shoulder and said to them.
“I need one of you to sneak into the castle and open the gate…” he said with a sorry tone and his face is like the sorry face people uses when they apologize.
Not even a second after the duke said that, one of the boys… You all know who it was, volunteered, “Me! Me! I want! No, I can do it”
Ady looked at Arden with a confused and shocked face while thinking about him in his mind, “What is wrong with him today? What is so fun and made him energized just of a dangerous mission”

That’s all that happened at the duke’s tent earlier and now Arden must focus on his mission, ‘I must focus at this mission now,”
After he thinks of this, he found leap into the interior of the castle and toward the courtyard knowing, ‘The walls will be filled with soldiers and guard, it’s better for me to sneak from the courtyard’
He quietly dropped from the walls toward the courtyard where there is some tents standing there. Providing cover for him as he sneak through the courtyards and toward the gate house.
A few minutes later, he is in the gate house, in front of him is the control to open or close the palisade. The 2 guards lying there after knocked up by the young boy.
He then proceed to roll the thing that is used to roll up the palisade that have the 2 wheels like steering wheels on the ship for the crew to open it.

The sound of the rusty steel ropes trying to lift the palisade up. The sound is like it was about to break and drop the palisade, but it didn’t.
Just a centimetre after the gate opens, rows and rows of soldier rushes from their camp. Some were carrying ladders and some were not.
The great fiery ball fired from the catapult and trebuchet hit the walls as the soldiers advance. There were a log of wood from one of the tree that will act as the ram for the wooden gate after the palisade.

Back to Arden, he has opened the palisade fully, place the wooden staff to prevent the wheel to drop the palisade and sighed in relief while wiping the sweat he produced on his head. Then he heard the stomping of steel boots on the floor.
He didn’t have other options.
Hide.
He quickly hid himself on the haystack on the gate house that is weirdly there. He examined as 2 unarmoured soldiers walk in to the gate house.
The 2 soldiers looked around after they entered the gate house. When they didn’t found or suspect anything, they quickly went toward the wheel that Arden used before and roll it to the opposite side.
The palisade began dropping again and was about to close, this is when Arden stood up from the haystack. He thrust his sword forward, quickly killing one of the soldier by piercing his chest.
The other soldier quickly notices and dropped the wheels, making the palisade drop in a matter of seconds. The wooden staff used to jam is lying on the floor.
Arden quickly kick the wooden staff and his aim is perfect. The wooden staff is jamming the palisade to drop. But now a sword is swing in full speed, aiming for his head.
Thump.
The boy managed to dodge right in time, losing a few strands of hair as he move his head and body to the side. The sword of the soldier hit the wooden materials for the wheels used to open the palisade.
It was so fast and a heavy blow that there is a dull sound being made from it. Arden is shivering right after he managed to dodge that but calmed his mind.

“Uhk!” The soldier was startled as blood were dropping from his mouth. The young boy stabbed him below the armpit section and were so close to hitting the heart that it hits the lungs instead.
The soldier fell to the ground and Arden stand before him, looking down on him while praying for him, “I’m sorry, I need to do my duty as a soldier too”

The soldiers of the duke’s army have entered the fortress, slaughtering every unprepared enemy soldiers. After all, the fact that war never changes, “They die, or the other side that dies”

Arden returned to the duke’s tent while everyone applause him. His heart still hurts after killing people but he don’t really have the choice.
Once he got into the duke’s tent, he saw Sir Aswick sitting on the chair behind the table. With Ady and the other 4 commanders of his army beside him.
All of them have the same expressions, that is obviously waiting for the hero on that fight, the young 14 years old boy and one of his squire, Arden. The duke clapped and soon the other did the same.

Months later, the 2 other great dukes with the order of the current king of Avalon. Have come to support the duke’s army after gathering nobles from the north, south and west province.
Sir Rakham of the northim province in the north, sir Valencio of the Asholia province in the south and Sir Aswick of the Aswen province in the west have come and gathered in the Fortress of Castro.
This is the 3 dukes, taking care of the province on the Kingdom of Avalon. Chosen by the king or even the previous king from many other competent nobles.
Where is the east province caretaker if you may ask?
The east province of the Avalon is divided by a great mountains hard to travel through. Haven’t see many conflict with other kingdom other than various and multiple rebellion.
After the 2 other great dukes have arrived to the fortress, there were a great party. Until… the ambush came to them and killed the people that is celebrating.
Many died, much more survived, whatever the result after the ambush. The 3 great dukes were furious because of this dishonest act of the enemy.
They rampaged with their troop right after that night, various castles and nobles were captured. Every each territories captured by them, more and more rebels joined with them knowing they have a chance.
The rebels even made their own army that resulted in them being slaughtered because lack of morale and equipment. However, the army of the Kingdom of Avalon continue on their ways.
The peak of the war is when both army of the kingdom of Avalon and kingdom of Bisvirb met on the place called Pass of Vir. The place of the small rows of mountains that is still connected to the one where Fortress of Castro stood.
4 years have passed since the war have begun and after resolving some rebels problem on the western side of the kingdom.
The king of Bisvirb gathered all the nobles and guerrilla warriors that was from the now-defeated nobles of the Kingdom of Bisvirb on the now-occupied territories by the Kingdom of Avalon.
Both armies lined up against each other and looks like a fight was about to broke out. That would be the biggest one in the history if It did.
