Tournament And The Hunt

2020-09-09 17:52:26Many people stayed until night to talk with others noble at the eating room. Unfortunately, sir Aswick need to go to someplace and do other things.
Valen also goes to talk to other noblewomen at the feast, leaving Arden unaccompanied. But Arden saw someone he knew, Ady.
Arden slowly approaches him and pat him on his shoulder, Ady turned and see Arden in complete surprise and excitement.
"Arden, long time no see, how are you doing"
"I'm fine, how about you?"
"I'm good too, the area I govern is turning better and better, how about you? I can give you some land there"
"Nah, I have a good land too" they talked for a few hours, but the night is coming, Arden give his bye to Ady and goes to his room to sleep.
There is a knock on the door, Arden opened the door and he sees Valen at the door.
"Umm... Arden, I couldn't sleep in my room"
"Come in then" both of them are facing different direction, wanting to see each other faces but are too embarrassed.
Somehow Arden just fell asleep.
In the morning, Arden got woken up by Valen. Telling Arden to wake up and prepare for today's tournament.
So he wakes up and prepares himself. Then comes a knock on the door. When arden opened the door, he saw Lian and told him to come in equipping his armor is very hard if do it alone. Fortunately, there is Valen there helping him.
After preparing all the things he need, he walked towards the tournament area with all of his companion.
Then told to wait at a place, while his companion is seated at a bench for people to watch the tournament.
The tournament organizer explains to all the participants. There is 3 tournament that will be held, the archery, the fighting and the jousting.
"The fighting is divided into several sections, the group fighting and the 1v1."
"The first would be the archery. The participant will have 3 turns to shoot, if they hit the bullseye, they will get 10 points."
"The gear used will affect the accuracy of the shoot and almost all of the participant using heavy armour and helm, of course they will have a problem aiming the bow."
But not with Arden. His armour is not too heavy, but giving much protection.
One by one take their turns, and Arden is called, he aims his bow and focus; he shot the arrow. Hitting bullseye for the first time.
At the second time, he got an 8, and then at the third's he got a 9, making him the third place at the archery and he got 50 aurens.
The one that won has a perfect score of 30, and the second place has a score of 28. Knowing this, Arden knows he must train more.
All the participants have already done their turn, now, they are given a time to rest.
The next tournament is the fighting one, and it will be the 1v1. But only a quarter will take their turn today.
One by one is called and then the organizer tells everyone that today's tournament is finished and will be continued tomorrow.
Arden gave a sigh of relief. But he doesn't just go to his room and rest, he goes to the training yard and train for to tomorrow.
Ady did the same thing as Arden, this remind them when they are still a squire of their liege, sir Aswick.
After they are done doing their training, they go to their own room. And Valen goes to Arden's room like yesterday.
Arden quickly fell asleep because he is exhausted doing all the tiring activity.
The next morning, he is woken up by Valen and did everything like yesterday.
At the arena, the participant is told that sir Aswick himself will be joining the tournament.
Normally, if the one organized the tournament joined the fighting, the participant will be called until the ruler is defeated. Then, the tournament will be back to the normal mode.
Sir Aswick is ready at the arena, readying his self to fight whoever is called, one by one is called, but most of them just surrender.
Many people thought that fighting the ruler is an act of dishonour.
"Arden!!" Arden got called to fight the duke, they both readying theirself, sir aswick shouted.
"Come on Arden!!, I need a good exercise. Don't be afraid to fight me!!" with the blunted one-handed sword and the shield in hand, they both charge toward each other and clashed in the middle of the arena.
With his sword, Arden gave a quick slash, sir Aswick easily blocked this and counter-attack, Arden parried it barely.
This continue for sometime until Arden found an opening on sir Aswick defense.
He attacked... But wait, why does it seems so easy.
"Argghhh" Arden got hit at his back, he then gritted his teeth in order to forget the pain and then attack sir Aswick.
Fortunately, his attack is quick enough to make sir Aswick unable to block or dodge it.
When sir Aswick's reaction is late and he focused on the sword that already hit the side of his abdomen, Arden goes for an upper head attack.
He raised his sword and drop it to sir Aswick's head. Sir Aswick got knocked out immediately and dropped to the ground.
After all sir Aswick is his former liege, so Arden carries him out of the arena while the audience gave a round of applause.
That victory is out of pure luck but he is still happy about that, Arden then quickly take sir Aswick to the doctor.
Both sir Aswick and Arden are given a med by the doctor.
The doctor explained that sir Aswick's injury is not fatal, with his helmet protecting his head, the damage is mostly absorbed by the helmet.
But sir Aswick will need to rest a couple of days.
The tournament goes on, the day slowly turned into night and all the participant has already fought each other.
At the semifinal, Arden fought against a knight name Gilbert and lost, Arden forgot that this Gilbert is the one that sparred with when he just met the duke.
At the final, Gilbert fought against someone with the name of Lucaro, mysteriously, Lucaro won.
But, Arden is too tired to thing about that all and just go to his room and sleep, and Valen is there to accompany him
