    The Season for the rains had come and it seemed to Edna that the gate of heavens, were open as the rain fell down heavily. She heard a sound but couldn't detect immediately if it was her mind, playing games with her or it was a reality. Immediately her memory recalled that she had seen a strange man at the kitchen but had not found the appropriate time to tell Mrs Coker in order to avoid upsetting her. Cold shivers ran through her body as the thoughts of strange figures moving around scared her. A sound came again from the main entrance, of the house which got her startled leading to more curiosity.     All that Edna thought about Mr Coker, was his Complacent behaviour and the rift that grew between him and his wife as the days passed by. On Tuesday, they had been an argument between the both of them which had led Mr Coker to the choice of coming back home late at the middle of the night as he reeked of alcohol. It came as a shock to Edna when the quarrels increased and the cause of the problems, was yet unknown to her but got her thinking .Mrs Coker had left early that morning to the office to get some of the papers given to her by the secretary, the previous day to review. Much later in the afternoon, her boss in the office had called for her to come to his office.     It was about 7am in the morning Mr Coker woke up like every other working day, he got himself dressed for work and left immediately, without having breakfast. Mrs Coker woke up from her sleep as the droplets of rain that fell in torrents last night made the morning air breezy and cold, a wet night it was.     The thought of staying with the Coker's made Edna glad, she had always thought of having a comfortable home, and here it was. Edna hummed a beautiful song, of praise in her heart to God and walked around the vicinity to take a look at nature's gift. The Lord had been faithful to her and she felt grateful, Mr Coker sat on his armchair at the corridor as he smoked into thin air letting the puffs curl up slowly. He had always been a plain strict man who took no nonsense from anyone. Although he had a good sense of humor when he wanted to be jovial. He loved the weekends when the house will be quiet as he took pleasure in having his private time to himself. It had taken him years to have this comfortable life and the quest for his children to have a better future than he had.
