Chapter 14: Confession

Kagome’s POV

Last night was the best. The dragon dance was the best. When I was watching the dragon dance, I was shocked because Haise holds my hand. I looked at him, but he is watching the dragon dance. I didn't let go of Hiase’s hand because I like it. So, does that mean that Haise has feelings for me? I’m just waiting for Haise to say it.

It’s already 4:30 in the morning. It’s still early, but I need to get ready because we have a 5 am morning service. I got up and get ready. When I’m done, I went outside my room, and Haise and Aoi are waiting for me outside. We went inside the temple, and a few minutes later, the worship service started.

The worship service lasted for an hour, so it’s already 6 in the morning. Haise, Aoi, and I went to the canteen and ate breakfast.

"At 8 am, we have to go to the other side of the temple to take part I reading the scriptures with the spirit monks," Haise said.

“Ok”

"After eating, we can head back to our rooms and rest for a bit,"

"I want to rest for a bit because I'm still sleepy,"

“Ok, Aoi”

After eating breakfast, we went back to our rooms and sleep for a bit. I woke up at 7:30. I got up and went outside. At 8 in the morning, the three of us went to the other side of the temple. The reading of the scripture lasted for almost an hour.

Today is our last day, so I need to roam around the temple.

"I will just roam around for a bit,"

"Ok, be careful,"

"I will,"

When I was roaming around, I was amazed by the place.

Haise’s POV

“Haise, I saw you hold Kagome’s hand last night. Tell me, do you have feelings for Kagome?”

“I love her already, Aoi,"

“I’m happy for you, Haise. I know that Kagome is the girl for you and the girl who can change you,"

“Thank you, Aoi. I promise to protect and cherish Kagome,"

“I know you will. Are you planning to confess to her?”

“Yes. Maybe tonight”

“Go or it, Haise,"

“Yup. Thank you, Aoi,"

You heard me right. I am planning to confess to Kagome.

Kagome came back.

“How was your adventure?”

"It was great. I was amazed by the place,"

"Glad to hear it,"

Fast forward, and it's already night time. I went outside my room, and I saw Kagome. I approach her.

“Kagome?”

“Oh, Haise”

“Let’s have a walk around the temple?”

“Sure”

When we are walking, I looked at Kagome. You can do it, Haise.

“Uhm, Kagome. I need to tell you something,"

“What is it?”

"During the shrine festival, I came to my senses that I will try to love you. Now, I am confident to say this. I love you, Kagome,"

“Haise-“

"Wait. I'm not done yet. I know that I said that I won't love ever again because of my past. I promised not to fall in love again, but here I am, confessing to you. It's not bad to break the promise, right?"

“It’s not bad to break a promise, Haise. It’s not also bad to fall in love again. Last night when you hold my hand, I felt happy, so I didn't let go. I asked myself if you have feelings for me, and I was right because here you are confessing your feelings to me. It's not one-sided anymore. I love you too, Haise,"

We looked at each other's eyes, and we kissed. When our lips parted, I hugged Kagome tightly.

“I love you, Haise,"

"I love you too, Kagome. I promise to protect and cherish you,"

After our confession moment, we roamed around for a bit and head back to our room while holding hands.

When we get back to our room, Aoi was outside.

“Oh, I see. I know what happened. Are you two together now?”

“Yup”

“Finally! I’ve been waiting for this day to come”

“You are?”

"Yup. I witnessed your love story from the start, and I'm happy with the results,"

“Thank you, Aoi,"

After that, Aoi went inside her room. Now, it's only Kagome and me outside.

“I will go inside now. Good night, Haise,"

When Kagome is heading to her room, I stopped her.

"Good night, Kagome," I said and kissed her forehead.

"I never knew you were this sweet,"

Kagome kissed my cheeks and went inside her room. When I went inside my room, I jumped because finally, Kagome is now my lover. This day is one of the best days of my life. I know that Nanami is happy for me.
