"I am boasting the fact that I get to attend Hogwarts with you whereas poor Sam will start his work as an Auror under Uncle Harry as he completed his training last year" Lauren said as he chuckled in excitement.
[AUROR is an profession in the wizarding world which is equivalent to police officers in our world]
"What is there to boast about, you will also be attending with me this year only and majority of the year you will be busy with your N.E.W.T preparation so none of you will be with me so don't boast" Evelina said in a calm and composed tone.
[N.E.W.T is an exam series which wizards take in their seventh year which also the graduating year in the wizarding world, its full form being...NASTILY EXHAUSTING WIZARDING TEST]
Lauren was speechless at how her words were like a cold water poured upon him, it awakened him and reminded him that he has his N.E.W.Ts this year.
Sam smirked at his brother when he saw that all the colour drained off his face. Evelina sat down as she simply continued reading the letter she received.
"Rose, you are quite heartless aren't you, how could you so easily remind me about my nightmare as if it is nothing. You have started reminding me of one of my friends in Hogwarts who joined just two years back just like you and still topped the O.W.Ls" Lauren said as he feigned a heartache.
[O.W.Ls is another series of exams which is taken by the wizards in their fifth year, this also determines the stream they will be taking up for the next two years of schooling, its full form being...ORDINARY WIZARDING LEVEL]
"It might be a nightmare to people like us but it will be a sweet dream for people like her, Teddy, Alice and Rose who spend their free time reading" Sam corrected his younger brother promptly.
Lauren sighed in defeat as he accepted the fact very easily whereas Evelina frowned and looked at her brothers.
"Who are the people you mentioned" Evelina asked in calm tone, masking her curiosity with indifference perfectly.
"They are out friends, you will meet them tonight and they also attend Hogwarts along with us" Lauren explained quickly to his sister.
"Exception being Teddy who is starting his work as an Auror with me" Sam quickly corrected his brother who missed out a detail.
Evelina nodded in understanding and then looked at her parents who were smiling at them fondly. Sam and Lauren also noticed their parents' expression and looked at them questioningly.
"Mum, Dad what is with that expression of yours" Sam asked on a curious note.
"We are just happy that you two are getting along with Rose pretty quickly. You two usually take time to open up with others so I was a bit worried but now I am relieved" Selena said as she smiled fondly at her children.
"Mum, Rose doesn't come under others, she is our own blood sister there is no way we will be hesitant around her" Lauren said as he stood up and side hugged Evelina, who chuckled softly.
"And rest assured we will change her indifferent attitude soon as well" Sam said as he also joined his siblings for a hug.
"All the Best then" Evelina wished him good luck in changing her attitude which was ingrained in her since childhood.
"Now let's eat out breakfast before it turns cold" Selena said as she ushered the duo back to their seats.
"When will we go to buy the supplies" Lauren asked as he remembered a crucial thing. Selena and Oliver looked at each other first and then at their kids.
"This time you all go and buy your stuff on your own along with others, we elders are busy" Oliver said as he looked at his kids to see their reaction.
"That should be fine, we will give Rose a quick short tour as well of the Diagon Alley" Sam agreed immediately.
Lauren and Evelina also nodded in agreement, Selena smiled and Oliver chuckled at their sons' excited faces.
"Right, I almost forgot about this. Rose dear you will be going to the Burrow with your brothers, as me and your Father will be busy because of the affairs in Ministry. That should be fine right" Selena asked in a doubtful tone, her eyes pleading as well.
[BURROW is a type of house the wizards lived in other than manors and mansions]
"I am fine staying alone over here doing my work, you don't need to worry about me Mum" Evelina said with a warm and polite smile on her face.
"No dear, your Father and me will also be going over there for dinner and returning back home for the night's rest and leave for work from here. It is been quite long that we gave our house elves their vacations, so this was a good chance" Selena explained patiently and warmly smiled at her.
"But won't that be rude to go there uninvited, I doubt any of them even know them" Evelina tried to reason out and escape from going over there.
"No sweetheart they know you very well, even though you don't know them but they know you and you will be introduced to them tonight and I assure you that Grandma Molly would love to have you over there" Oliver explained in a warm and doting tone as he warmly smiled at Evelina.
"Okay Mum, Dad I will go to stay at the Burrow then" Evelina sighed and accepted their decision. She then turned around her plate and wiped it quickly.
The elves appeared and served the dishes quickly according to everyone's preference, everyone then started eating their breakfast.
