**Alexander groaned as slowly opened her eyes to see the two females that meant the world to her sitting by her side ,pillows in their hands as they smiled ."What is it with you two?"
She complained , rubbing her eyes with her palms and stretching."Can't a lady get some sleep around here?"She continued , glaring at the them.They just stared at her with baby eyes , like children who's favourite toys had just been snatched.
Alex couldn't hold her laugh back.She knew why they had woken her up ."Won't you at least let me shower before giving y'all the juicy gist?"
She asked , smiling at them.Tanya looked at Rayla , she could tell they were having a silent conversation about it.
And when they finally agreed , Tanya spoke up"Okay , I guess we can manage that "
They all laughed as Alex stood up from her bed. Throwing her feet into pink flip flops as she staggered into the bathroom.
As she ran water for her bath , she couldn't help but blush at the thought of Lucas.
He was having a test today , had he even studied?She really wanted him to pass this test , she knew how important it was to him.He needed to prove to his father and to the school authorities that he was much more than the party boy they all saw him as.He needed to show his father that he wasn't a waste of investment , care and love.She really hoped he would , she had done her best , the ball was now in his court.Twenty minutes later , she was out if the bathroom with her hair wrapped in her white towel and her red towel tied around her chest.
She stopped in front of the door when she saw her friends on her bed , they hadn't moved an inch.
She couldn't stop herself from laughing .
"Are you both that hungry for gossip"?She asked , moving to the front of the dressing mirror as she spoke."Well durrrhh.."
"Are you gonna start talking or what?"
Their ears were really itching to hear all about their best friend's night.
"Well.."
She began as she sat on a stool in front of the mirror , legs crossed. She picked up her bottled lotion and looked back at her friends.Rayla frowned " You had better start talking Alexander or God so help me I'll shove that bottle down your throat "
She snapped ."Jeez Ray"
Tanya said, laughing .Alex chuckled as she turned back to the mirror.
"My evening went quite well , it was in a ship named after his mother "
"A ship?"
They asked , simultaneously.Alex laughed."Yeah, I know right ? Even I was shocked . The evening went quite well , we had dinner , talked and that was it "
She stood up from the stool , walked to her bed and sat at the other edge.
Tanya and Rayla remained quiet.
Alex turned to them, "why aren't you guys saying anything?"
Tanya smiled , a very obvious sarcastic one.
"We're just wondering exactly how stupid you think we are Alex"Okayyyyyyy...
There was no way she could keep that part away from the story .She bit her lower lip as the image came back in her head , not that it had ever left.
His warm lips on hers , his hands exploring somewhere between her legs , the way he kissed her neck slowly , not leaving any spot wanting.She felt her cheeks heat up."Spill girl!"
She heard Rayla scream."We kissed !"
She screamed , laughing as she did.Tanya and Rayla smirked , their darling nerdy best friend had finally had her first kiss.
After twenty-one years !They could still remember the shock on their faces when Alex told them she had never been kissed before , not once!That was three years ago , in the cafeteria .
Now here she was , all kissed and in love .She clearly was , she couldn't deny it .
They were extremely happy for her.
But what they didn't know was if they could trust Lucas Cage with their best friend and sister - she was like a sister to them after all , the youngest of them all.Alex didn't miss the uncertainty written all over their faces , not even when they tried to mask it with their beautiful smiles .
"What's wrong?"
She asked , moving closer to them.She leaned her back against the bed frame , legs intertwined , pillow in the middle."Tell me Rayla, what are you two thinking about ?"
She asked , concern in her voice and in her eyes.She was bothered by their countenance.
Tanya was the first to look up at her , she had always been the bold one amongst the three of them.
The one to stand up for them , and herself.She placed a hand on Alex's leg.
"Don't get me wrong babe , we're really happy for you, believe me ."She began .
She turned to Rayla , silently asking for permission to speak further , when Rayla nodded, she continued."But what we're bothered about is the fact that this happiness is a product of Lucas Cage "
Alex looked at her , she could tell she was really concerned , and she knew that she had every reason to.
Lucas wasn't the best person for an innocent nobody to develop feelings for.Yes , he was interested in her now , but what would happen when he got bored ?When he decided he needed to move on to another girl?What would she do them?Alex couldn't even think about this.
"Tanya..""We're not saying you should stop loving him.."
"I don't ..."
She stopped , she knew there was absolutely no reason to deny anything.It was so obvious , she could as have as well written it on her forehead .She knew , her friends knew.Rayla's eyes lit up with a smile as she finally spoke .
"All we're saying is that you should be really careful Alex , take little baby steps "Alexander looked at Tanya , then back at Rayla before the tears that gathered in her eyelids fell , running down her her dark cheeks.
She didn't know what she would have done without them , she didn't even want to be given an opportunity to know.
She loved them , and she knew they loved her too.One step at a time. Baby steps.
She could do that..it would be easy.She nodded.
"One step at a time "She said , before spreading her arms , asking for a group hug.As they both locked her in an embrace.
Alexander knew once again that with them in her life , nothing could go wrong.

Writer POV **He had woken up to an email from his school. Alexander remembered how she had almost laughed her lungs out at the name.She had only met him once , at Hayley's house and she hadn't taken time to give him much as a second look before she stormed out in tears.But now, Pionee had just received a call that he'll be managing the store from now on.
