30: Discoveries and Pictures

2020-10-31 18:37:33"No way!" Chloe yelled and I batted my lashes really fast to try and keep up with her new found attitude.
"What?" I asked her.
"Did you say Khan was the one who offered you that paper?" She was tapping her fingers noisily against the table now.
I nodded.
"Shit! Khan used to be Alberto's secretary. But that was long ago" Chloe said and I frowned.
"How come I didn't know that" I crossed my arms and heaved out a sigh. So what does this mean? Alberto is the one responsible for my kidnap? Why would he do that? And what does he want from Damien.
"Why would Alberto kidnap me?" I asked Chloe and she shrugged.
"It might not be Alberto, you know" she said.
If it's not Alberto, who else has the power and right over Khan to make him kidnap me. I remember him talking to someone on the phone when he was urging me to sign the paper.
"Not yet. But she will sign it"
He was obviously reporting to someone. He was sent by that person.
"Do you think it was Bethany?" I asked Chloe and she chuckled.
"Exactly what I was thinking"Chloe said. "I know that after Bethany married Alberto, she was having an affair with Khan"
I won't even ask how she knows all these. She's Chloe for godsake! Mistress of gossip and news flash.
"Really?" I cringed my nose in disgust. I can't believe she and Damien used to date. She's a horrible person. But that's in the past and I won't dwell much on it.
"Yeah. Bethany is a whore and all she's after is money. She doesn't like anyone but herself"
"So what if it is Bethany actually" I hummed to myself.
My phone chimed and I pulled it out of my purse to see a message from an unknown number. A frown overtook my face.
"What's that?" Chloe asked and brought herself closer so she could stare at my phone. I opened the message and there was a picture.
Damien was lying down on his side and Bethany was by him. She was holding him from his waist and they looked like two lovers as they fell asleep together.
My eyes dampened immediately. What's all this now?
"Don't take it the wrong way" Chloe said to me and I shoot her a glare.
"That's a clear picture" I said.
"Relax. It might not be what it seems. Why don't you just check on him first" she said and I nodded and wiped my eyes.
This is probably Bethany trying to play tricks on me and I'll get her for this. I'll strangle that bitch with every last nerve I have.
"I'll drive you" Chloe said looking at my big stomach. I smiled with a nod.
"Damien told me to stay away because of his fever" I told Chloe as we got into her Range Rover.
"We're not staying for more than a minute. " She tells me and revved out of her garage.

I burst through the glass doors of the mansion. Rose hurried out of the kitchen to see what the noise was about. I smiled at the sight of her.
"Mrs Forrest" she said alarmed.
"You really shouldn't run off like that with you being pregnant" Chloe scolded me as she came behind. She spotted Rose and then smiled at the sweet woman.
"Good day, Rose" she said.
"Where's Damien?" I asked Rose and she pointed up. I took the steps two at a time until I got to the bedroom. Damien was still laying down but his eyes were opened and his hand draped over his forehead.
He sat upright when he saw me approach him.
"You're back so soon" he smiled.
"Where is she?!" I yell and he looked confused. Is this a joke. Are they both playing jokes on me.
"Babe, where's who?" He asked me.
"You know who am talking about. Where is Bethany?!"
He got up from the bed and came to me. His hands grip my shoulders.
"Believe me when I say I don't know what you're talking about" he said and I shrugged his hands off of me. Chloe and Rose came behind and stood at the door.
I brought out my phone and showed him the picture. "Don't lie to me. I know she was here" A tear slipped from my eye and I wiped it away. Damien was still looking at the picture like he couldn't understand what was going on on. Or he's just pretending.
"Rose. Did anyone come to the house?" He asked Rose and she shook her head. What is going on here.
"So explain this picture Damien!" I yelled flinging my hands in the air. He caught them and pulled me to him.
"Stop screaming. It's not healthy for you" he hummed.
"Not healthy? I don't give two fucks about that Damien. Tell me why that woman was here and in our bed!" I yelled again.
"I don't know. I have no idea she was even here. I've been out since yesterday. The doctor came and that was the only person I saw before I dozed off" he rambled on and I don't know if I should believe him or not.
"But..."
"All I ask is for you to trust me, Jay. Please" he begged and I rubbed my palm against my cheek drying off the tears that was there.
Damien picked his phone and dialed a number. I guess he was calling security cause he asked for camera footage and who came into the house.
"She did?....fine....next time, don't open the gate for her or you can kiss your job goodbye" Damien threatened whosoever was on the other line.
"Bethany did come here today. But you have to believe me. I was asleep."
"Mr Forrest's fever grew worst last night . He couldn't sleep so the doctor gave him some sleeping pills" Rose said and I felt my hands tremble.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked cupping his cheek. "Oh God! What if something had happened to you" I choked.
"Nothing happened to me. And I didn't tell you cause I was afraid you'll come running here. I don't want you getting sick" he said and kissed my lip.
"I think we should go" Chloe said and I nodded.
"If anything happens again, please just tell me" I pleaded and he nodded before pulling me for a hug. "And how long until I come back home. I miss you alot"
"Tomorrow. I guess you can come tomorrow or next" he said.
Chloe took my hand and then turned to Damien. "Don't worry, I won't let her work her ass off" she grinned and he flipped her off.
"Bye love" he said to me as I walked out of the room with Chloe. I swear if not that she was there. I would've jumped his bone. I feel terrible leaving him.
"When are you going to tell Damien about Khan?" Chloe asked me.
"When next I see him"
I know if Damien knows who Khan worked for, he'd confront Alberto. Possibly and hopefully? We'll find out if Khan worked on Alberto's orders or his darling wife. Bethany.

Way To Forever 37: Cramp the games
The sun was already going down and I've given Damien many kisses than I can count. We didn't only golf but barbecued. Rose came over and helped us with steaks. We found a shady spot with a wooden table and trunks like stools round the table. Danielle hit the ball so hard, we couldn't find where it flew to. It's a warm Wednesday and we're both playing golf and bonding over food and makeup."Do you think it ran into the trees?" Elle asked. She bent down and picked another golf ball."Guess so"I placed my hand to shield my eyes from the sun. Elle had told me to take a cap with him but I'd blantanly refused. I thought it'd be weird wearing a summer dress, tennis shoes and a cap. Oh and let me not fail to mention that I'm pregnant. Now I see she had a point."Do you hear that?" I asked Elle.There was a humming sound coming toward us. Like a truck but it didn't have that rugged sound. Elle dropped her ball down next to a hole and gave it a tiny tud. Coming to the house Damien bought for us over a month ago again felt like coming into a totally different place. The place was transformed and looked pretty. Fortunately for me, Damien didn't change anything about the interior of the sitting room because I'd loved the modern yet vintage setting.And of course, I didn't fail to notice the double security Damien put up. As I sat in the Limo, I tried not to remember the last time I and Damien were together in this same Limo. I had gone over myself that night.Damien squeezed my hands and I stared up at him. I woke up with movement above me. I opened one eye slowly so I don't go blind from the brightness of the room.
