Chapter 20: Accepting a Trial Disciple

I suddenly heard a thud from somewhere in my mansion. It is currently the middle of the night. Since I still don’t have a new phone and there are no clocks in my room, I couldn’t tell the exact time. When I looked up at the sky, I saw two moons and the stars were bright. I guess in this new world, light pollution isn’t a thing. One moon looks like the regular one while the other looks like a red version of it, kind of like the phenomenon of the blood moon. That doesn’t matter right now. I have to find out who the intruder is. I summoned Max through our telepathic link, but he seems to be asleep. I can wake him up by jolting his soul, but I don't think there is a need for that since I'm not really sure if there is a danger present. If need be, I can just wake him up. We’ve both been through a lot today and I want Max to just rest. I went ahead and checked out the noise. Even though I don’t have much combat experience, I can still sense in which direction the mana is lesser. I used the movement arts of the Heavenly Way to move quickly and quietly which is pretty tiring. When I arrived in the main living room of the mansion, I saw a pretty nice-looking sofa with two chairs on the sides like the ordinary living room setups that I know. There is no TV though, I wonder how people get entertained these days.

I can feel the presence of the enemy now. I can also feel that his or her body is battling and losing with the absorption of mana from the air. On the spur of the moment, I saw the intruder throw some throwing needles in my direction. I shouted, "Flaws!" in my mind, and a book compiled on the enemy was generated. The intruder was wearing all black with a ski mask like a typical villain from a movie. When I got a chance to inspect the book, I was surprised to see that it was Stephanie, I wonder what she is doing here.

A lot of years have passed since this new world was established. The past days I actually lived through were pretty troublesome, it's time to let off some steam and play with my cute little niece. After Stephanie saw that I dodged those needles effortlessly, she seemed to have lost her composure. I poked fun at her and sarcastically said, “Oh no, I’m so scared! BLEEH.” She got visibly angry at that comment and started charging me. Since her body got blessed by the heavens, it is now very strong and resilient. She jumped up the table right between us but as soon as she landed, it broke with the force of her body expended on the table. She still doesn’t have any idea on how to control her strength. I laughed and said, “That table has barely been used. You must be pretty heavy to bring down a table made of pure Narra." After hearing those words, she seemed more pissed than before. I dodged her shoulder tackle and I was about to hit her on the butt, but I stopped myself. She looks around 16-18 years old or maybe even younger. No way am I going down that rabbit hole. That lapse in judgment slowed me down and she was able to kick me. It didn’t hurt since the mana on my body softened the blow. Just as the kick connected I jumped back to make it look like her kick affected me.

I'm about to hit my back against the wall of the living room so hard.

Having cultivated the Heavenly body I changed the insides of my body so that a bunch of easily breakable blood vessels was located to where I’m going to hit the wall. I hit my back against the wall, and the wall broke in the way glass breaks and not how rocks crack, some of my blood vessels popped out and blood spewed everywhere. Stephanie screamed and shouted, “ARE YOU OKAY? I didn't want this to happen. I just wanted to scare you. MY GOD! Mom and dad are gonna freak out. I better call Tiffany and Zack to come and help me sort this out.” I just laid there on the ground, not knowing what to do. After a while, I heard her talking with her friends. I jolted Max awake telepathically and told him to enter through the front door. He jumped out of his sleep and suddenly shouted, "Who hurt my master?" I can say that he was quite annoyed since he was dreaming of food for tomorrow’s party, but he agreed with the condition that I will be teaching him a new technique tomorrow. When he came to the living room, he blew a strong gust of wind to pin Stephanie to the wall. "Good job, Max!" As soon as Stephanie got scared out of her mind, I stopped my joking and stood up and she was surprised to see that I was fine.

Stephanie told me that her plan was actually to just write “GET OUT” on the wall to make it seem like the place was haunted by the people who died in the apocalypse. It is actually not a bad plan considering I don't know much about this new world. As for her punishment, I told her that she would be my little slave for the next month, under the guise of a trial disciple. She reluctantly agreed with the condition that I won't tell her parents about what happened tonight. I told her that I'll clean everything up in the morning and she can go home. I ordered Max to escort her out of the mansion and in return, she'll have to tell him a story. They both agreed and I went on and continued my rest for the night.

I am alone, hiding behind some trees near the dirt road; which can go up to a shining Church, or down to a stone archway that leads to nowhere. From my experiences with fiction it isn’t all crazy to think that the path that goes down in the middle of nowhere is the “main exit” that the guards were talking about, so I decided to go with the path that goes upward. Good thing, I still have with me the pen and paper that guided us to the portal which would help point to the location of Stephanie but would also hinder me if I pass through anyone and get found out. I must be smart in using this guide.I headed up to the trees nearest to the church building. I saw that the main entrance of the church building is being guarded

Son said, “That’s why I couldn’t track Stephanie's location. She isn’t in our world right now, but she also has not passed through the borders of the kingdom. She is inside this portal which leads to another dimension." Son paused for a bit to have a closer look at the portal and continued, "From its fluctuations, I think it’s an inferior dimension." Son explained that an inferior dimension is sort of a pocket space, similar to a demiplane. I then thought of its resemblance to the portal Anton made when we came across the vampire; only in this case, pocket spaces are much smaller, covering the size of a building or two at most. Before heading inside, we all prepared first. We asked Julian to guard the outer perimeter so that no one can interfere with us on the inside. Son handed me a piece of candy to act as

Topher asked the kids, "Where is Stephanie? I thought you were all going to get here together. She said that she informed you all about her surgery being a success and wanted to party with all of you." The kids said that the last time they saw her was yesterday at Zack’s Beach House, Zack is the son of Dianne. Trevor, the son of Julian, replied with "We do know about her successful surgery. We partied yesterday at the beach house, Tiffany showed her a few moves, but then she said that she was tired and wanted to catch some sleep at home and left early." Two people interjected the words of Trevor, a teenage boy with a buff physique and a teenage girl with short hair who is also pretty fit. "Stephanie called last night and said that she came here, to her promised home and wanted to pull a prank on Paul, her uncle who stole this house from her," said the girl. "And then, she said that there was an accident. She sai

  • Welcome to the New world   Chapter 22: Party Time!

After assimilating the book compiled on the Heavenly Way of Cooking Rank-1, I learned that cooking uses a lot of science. Perfect actions are needed and the fire or whatever materials you use also have to be perfect so that the full flavor of the dish comes out. Since the fire is too big for me to control, I decided to ask Max for his help. I asked him to control the way the fire spreads and how it would hit the pig. I am then in charge of maintaining a rotational motion of the pig that would complement the fire being spread on the open roast by Max. After four hours of focus on following the recipe and incorporating with it the Heavenly Way of Cooking, the result was delectable even just by sight and smell. The Lechon had perfectly golden-brown skin with no cracks, boils, or blemishes, and because the skin had no cracks there is no oozing of its own juices but it’s all flowing in the meat inside. I believe that

When I woke up, it was almost noon. The past few days that I experienced were undoubtedly exhausting but now, I feel completely refreshed; absolutely better than what I felt for the past few days, or should I say years. I guess one reason for this is because I lost weight and became pretty healthy since I started cultivating my body with the use of the Heavenly Body Manual. There’s still some time before our party starts later at sunset. When I opened my window, I saw my backyard already being prepared by folks I don’t know. Max told me that earlier, Joyce came and ordered the people setting up for the party that there is no need to wake me up. The house AI pretty much obeyed her orders since she still also has ownership of the house. Yesterday, Joyce told me I could customize the
