Chapter 5: Medical mission

2020-08-21 00:05:15Realizing that my friend might be in danger, I convinced Anne that we should go check on Anton since he was the reason why I got to be with her again. We tried to see the specifics of how Anne can use her protection device. From our tests it seems the device responds to her imagination. She needs to protect us from being recognized by the monstrous creatures around us. I told her that maybe we could try to replicate the force field that Anton created to protect the two of us. I told her that to make the force field we first need to create a sphere around her and give herself the ability to perceive everything in it. It seems she got shocked with the information that she received so much that her head started to hurt. Instead, I asked her to try to pass the same ability to me. While it physically hurts my head, it is quite manageable like a light migraine. It is a little annoying but I'm trying to push through it so we could head to the hospital. Flying octopus aliens came at us but Anne shot them all down like houseflies with buzz lightyear laser beams. She figured out that she can take the control from the force field that protects us without being overloaded with information for a few seconds. Since we could use her imagination to speed our way up to the hospital rather than climbing a ton of stairs, I suggested we should copy Static Shock’s flying disc to get us to the top. She agreed since we do not have much time before she needs to get back to her company where they might lead us to a safe place.
When we got to the top floor, we saw Anton with his girlfriend, Jane, a 50-year-old Filipina woman with black hair who looks almost like an actor on a local television show. They are both lying on the floor. Thankfully, they are just dirty and not injured. In the room where we found them, is a boardroom. Standing in this boardroom is a young man with white skin not fair like American but white as a bond paper. You could even mistake him for a ghost. But since he's got glowing red eyes and bats flying around him, I’m guessing he is a vampire. Man, I just cannot catch a break today.
The vampire then looked at us and said “Ah! We have more guests. Do you also want to join our faction? Rejection isn’t an option though.” I sense a lot of danger and killing intent from him like he doesn’t care what our answers will be and he just wants to play with us like a toy. I played along to try to get more information from him. “What faction? Who are you? What do we do in your faction?” Laughing loudly, the vampire replies, “You ask too much. Time to go to bed.” He then charges towards me. Thankfully, Anne created a miniature sun with all rays only pointing at him. It didn’t turn him into dust since a film of darkness is covering him. The vampire then says “Tsk, one of the big four accounting firms has already gotten to you. I’ll just take these and go so that I will not fail my mission,” while looking at Anton and Jane.As the vampire is approaching, Anton whipped out a spell he was preparing ever since he received his powers. He intended to make it into a safe spot. Anton created a demi-plane. He started to cough up some blood and began to absorb the vampire and himself. Jane then shouted, “YOU ARE NOT LEAVING ME AGAIN!” and jumped into the portal before it closed.
After all that happened, I and Anne took a breather before deciding to head back, but it was too late. An HQ personnel from her company came in and summoned her literally like a summoning spell. That means that I am stuck in this hospital, alone. The good thing though is that the explosive fight with the vampire must have killed or scared off all the other monsters, so I guess I'm safe... for now.
My phone chimed and I received a text that reads “My love, I'm sorry I couldn’t take you with me. Only employees are allowed to be taken into the HQ of this firm. I tried to leave to go to you, but I couldn’t. Whatever happens, I WILL ESCAPE. Your safest bet now is to get to safe haven in your high school in Angono. I will meet you there however long it takes.” I replied with an “Okay, my love. Better take care of yourself first. I have all the time in the world to wait for you. I just want you to be safe.” and then I added a kissing face emoji with a heart by the end to extend the show of my affection towards her. Looks like I will have to go from Pasig to Angono alone and powerless right now. This will be tough.

Son said, “That’s why I couldn’t track Stephanie's location. She isn’t in our world right now, but she also has not passed through the borders of the kingdom. She is inside this portal which leads to another dimension." Son paused for a bit to have a closer look at the portal and continued, "From its fluctuations, I think it’s an inferior dimension." After assimilating the book compiled on the Heavenly Way of Cooking Rank-1, I learned that cooking uses a lot of science. Perfect actions are needed and the fire or whatever materials you use also have to be perfect so that the full flavor of the dish comes out. Since the fire is too big for me to control, I decided to ask Max for his help. I asked him to control the way the fire spreads and how it would hit the pig. I am then in charge of maintaining a rotational motion of the pig that would complement the fire being spread on the open roast by Max. After four hours of focus on following the recipe and incorporating with it the Heavenly Way of Cooking, the result was delectable even just by sight and smell. When I woke up, it was almost noon. I suddenly heard a thud from somewhere in my mansion. It is currently the middle of the night. Since I still don’t have a new phone and there are no clocks in my room, I couldn’t tell the exact time.
