Chapter 12 ( Father And Son Reunite )

Meanwhile back at the Chapel of Light…..

Standing before the portal Forging looked at him with a questioning look on his face. Daz smirked and spoke,” The light will tear you apart?” Forging looked at him and replied,” Well ,what was I supposed to say? It sounded good at the time. “Daz shook his head and said,” NO! It’s the Light is Pissed at you, the light is pissed at you! And never forget, The power of Shit cunts mother fucking  compels you!'

 Looking up to the sky he said to Uther Pendragon,” What am I gonna do with him?” Taking the letter into his hand with Miralania right behind him stepped through the portal to Rage Gale. Standing outside the gates of the city they looked at one another when Miralania spoke,” Ok, what next?” Daz grimaced and said,” Um we get the shit kicked out of us.”

He said with a chuckle then looked up at the crowd of undead paladins gathering at the city gates and jumped up on a wooden fence pole.” Stand here, be aware, and stay alert. Do nothing to those who would hurt you or do you harm. I will return for you. Miralania, come with me.” 

Turning they both went to the stable near the gates and grabbed two horses tossing a large amount of gold on top of the half wall as compensation for their steeds. They both took deep breaths and Miralania looked at Daz,” I hope you know the way to the keep, because I for one have never been here.” With a curt nod,” It’s simple , just look for the most gaudy, gosh corner of the city, humans have absolutely no taste.” They both spurred their horses to a canter and entered the gates. 

The guards began screaming and yelling at them as citizens of the city began pummeling them with stale breads and rotten vegetables. As they reached the first bridge they were surrounded by guards and noble men. Reaching up the undead paladins was pulled off their steeds. Daz spoke in clear common tongue,” Do nothing Miralania ,we have to give these letters to the king, so no aggression.” They struggled to stand as they were being beaten and battered. Slowly and resolutely they stepped one foot in front of the other dragging the throng of people with them. Their strength knew no bounds as they struggled their way to the next tunnel and turned to the right dragging the screaming throng all the way.

 Someone reached up and tore a clump of Miralania’s hair from near her horn and kept punching her in the back of the head and right cheek. Stopping for a moment she grasped his hand and spoke,” Did not anyone ever tell you it’s rude to strike a woman?” Dropping his hand she continued to the doorway of the keep just behind Daz. Looking back over his shoulder, nose bloodied and cheek cut from a small dagger.” It’s not much further Mira.” The mob of people began to thin out as they drew closer to King Rehnquist. The King stood up and pointed at the couple and screamed “You plan to kill me for that whelp?” Daz in rage shook off the last of the guards and spoke,” If I had intended to kill you it would be done already and no one could have done anything about it. We have letters from Forging,” 

He said as he knelt and handed him the letter and Miralania stumbled up the steps bloodied and battered, tail cut and trailing blood handed him the letter. The king snatched both letters and read them hurriedly just as Rahnyah and King Valudus who were conferencing in the war room, heard the raucous and walked down to the throne room. Standing back they watch the scene unfold.

“Rage gale! Listen as your King speaks, the undead paladins have risen against Lucifer and the knights of the New Templar Order wish to form an alliance with us. You will treat these former heroes of the alliance with all the respect and dignity as you would any citizen of Rage Gale! Rise Knights of the new Templar order!” Daz turned and spoke; I have a full regiment outside the city gates and am going to retrieve them now. “Motioning to Miralania to follow him, Valudaz stepped down from the dais, he saw Val standing next to Rahnyah along the wall and something made him walk towards him not knowing why. Rahnyah’s hand reached up and grasped Val and whispered softly.

” Milord, that, that is your son, it seems your prayers have been answered and the Goddess just gave you a sign.” Daz stopped in front of his father and took a deep breath smelling his scent and tilted his head as he tried to pull those memories from the recesses of his mind.

“ You are my father.” He said quite matter of factly.” Valudus reached up and grasped his shoulder and leaned in pulling his son to him ever grateful to Gaia for his return. He grasped him tightly and cried soulfully. Stepping back ,he inspected him as he had always done since his birth two thousand five hundred years before this. “ It is good to see you my son, your sisters will be so happy to hear you have returned to us. How can this be?” Daz looked at his father and Rahnyah and spoke clearly.” I was wielding Excalibur she did not allow the light to be completely taken from me. But now I am this. This.’ Turning to his father he spoke. 

” Mother did die and was brought back as well. She is bound to the Blackwell. She wishes to remain there, Drow is protecting her in his stronghold currently but she will be moving to the apartments in New, New Orleans. I think she does not know how to respond to this in any fashion. She made it a point to tell me to make sure you know the book is in her study. She may be seen in New Orleans but may never come back to these lands in her undead form. She said to tell Miss Rahnyah that she may take what she wishes from her things. She said that you would know what to do about the books and said to be careful Robelaire is a babboon’s ass and she wishes to speak with you both as soon as you can travel to New Orleans. She said this is too much for her to bear. She would like to see her daughters as soon as possible.”

Both Rahnyah and Val shook the shock from their eyes and nodded quickly to his son. Val touched his shoulder and spoke quietly,” I am glad you are returned to us, in whatever capacity.” Looking deep into his son’s eyes before he turned and walked from the keep. He stopped and turned, I am sorry for the loss of your wife. She was such a lovely young lady. The most amazing cook I have ever known.” Daz stood in stunned silence as his father walked away. The reality of Alitha’s death setting in on him was too much to bear. His shoulder dropped slightly as he took in a wounded sharp breath. He would have to go see the priests.
