Izzie just sat there motionless as she stared into the dark fabric of Brad's suit jacket. "I'm here for Cassius Lockwood," his words spun around in her mind, refusing to sink in. Brad groaned at Izzie's phone as it flashed up with another annoying ding for what seemed like the hundredth time since they sat down, "When did you become so popular?"Izzie shot him a pointed look, before turning her attention back to her strawberry milkshake.  She screamed loud and hard as pain exploded from her neck. She could feel his lips curl into a twisted smile at the sound and she felt hot trickles begin to run down her neck. She felt weak as he yanked her head sideways, driving his fangs deeper into her flesh. She had never felt so helpless in her entire life. At least when the wolf had bitten her she had passed out almost immediately. Not this time.

 Everything moved so quickly that Izzie could barely comprehend what was happening. Cassius' face contorted in pain before he was swiftly rolled off of her, crashing to the floor with Brad on top of him. Cassius had been far too engrossed in the moment to hear Brad's approach and Brad had managed to take him off guard. Izzie felt her heart drop as she saw Brad raise her dagger above his head. "No!" she screamed, lunging for the end of the bed, her hands grasping out wildly for the dagger, but it was too late. Brad was already bringing th
