My project and Cole's is supposed to be ready the day after tomorrow but since we have done half the project only, I forcefully have to go meet Cole so we can continue the project together.  We work in a public place and we both keep straight faces and we are completely serious. I thought I would be happy if Cole stopped bugging me and flirting with me but I am the complete opposite. His face shows no hint of emotion and he barely looks at me. We get a B+ on the project and after that I don't see any more of Cole.But I guess that's what I've always wanted so...    My mum drops a huge bomb

   "Where have you really been?" My mum asks as I walk into the door, I keep my head low and my mouth shut. "I told you already, I was at Kathy's"  I walk past her, her eyes are still glued to me. "Don't you lie to me Jade! I called Kathy's mum and she said you weren't there." I wrinkle my nose, well I'm busted for sure. But I can't tell her I was at a guy's house. She's going to ground me for years.  I stare at my Mum long and hard. "You know in reality it's your fault Mum. If you didn't drop such a bombshell yesterday, I wouldn't have ran off super scared." 

Dinner is going to be awkward. I can feel it as my Mum serves us her famous potpie. Chris keeps smiling at me creepily and I send him my famous death glares.I just don't like the guy, but with my mum around I guess I have no choice but to tolerate him."So Jade, wanna tell me your plans after high school??"I raise an eyebrow and give Chris a look."College. Obviously"Cole nods nervously and tugs at his collar."That's great. Any colleges in mind?" Chris asks."Why are you asking Chris? You wanna pay my tuition fees?""Jade don't be rude!" My mum cuts and I mutter a sorry."No it's okay honey, she's just being a teenager" Chris answers.I raise my eyebrow, is this dude for real now? I'm just being a teenager!!!!My mum and Chris instantly start talking about colleges that I should go to

"Please Jade just hear me out!!" he calls after me and I pause for a bit. "I shouldn't be talking to you after what you did. You used me!!!" Max's eyes stare at me pleadingly,"I know and I'm sorry. I honestly am. What I did was awful and I never should have used you to cover-up the fact that I was gay." "And I'm going to prove how sorry I am because I know that I hurt you badly." Max adds and he brings out his phone and starts texting. Is he seriously texting right now?So annoying, I think as I leave. I'm at the karaoke stand with Kathy when a Miss Information notification comes in.

I find Cole's car waiting outside when I get out. I really cannot believe all these things I'm hearing about my mum. She honestly cannot be that selfish.  She changed our last name from De La Cruz to Moore and I always wondered why. De La Cruz is my Dad's last name but after the divorce my Mum changed it. "Cole?" I call out as I get in front of his car, he comes out hastily. "What are you doing here???" I ask. Cole shrugs. "I just figured that you'd need a ride back home when you're done." Tears well up in my eyes and I hug Cole.  "Thank You. Really."
