I was led to a pavilion where the queen sat a table, waiting.  My heart pounded hard. What am I to do? I clumsily lifted my dress and courtsied like I watched women do in historical movies.  Her face expressionless she  waved for me to sit. She watched my every move. She made me feel I was incapable of anything and way beneath her. Trust me i do not like the feeling not a bit. Guess the Prince got his snob attitude from her. They both need serious help.  The maids poured us tea.  "Anna Bill why are you here?" She ask with a voice oozing confidence and disdain.  What sort of question is this?  They brought me here because of some stupid deal made 18 years ago.

It was a neighbor's wedding. The first and only wedding I'd been to. It was simple and emotional. The roses and decor were quite natural. It took place at their backyard. I remember the exchanges that were made and how I'd always imagined mine. Mine would be simple too with the man I love. Maybe a little extravagance. Lots of food and laughter. A perfect little ceremony just like my neighbors'.  But that wouldn't come true. Ever.  I stare at my wedding dress dressed on a mannequin. It was of white satin with a deep flounce of honiton lace. The train woven in silver and white brocade was embroidered with roses and thistles, a small lace veil fastened with a diamond rose of York. It is very beautiful. It's my wedding/coronation day.  I was bathed with the finest soaps and made up. Dressed in my wedding gown, I look at the mirror at the strange girl staring back at me.  My mom should be here whispering word of encouragement and advice. My dad should be kissing my forehead and my brother should be teasing me. I am alone.  I channeled my loneliness and anger to my shoes. The heels are killing me. I want to scream and jump out the window. But a promise is a promise. For the family. The maids come in.  "It is time" It is okay to be nervous on your wedding day but not when over a million people are watching your every move over the lens of a reporter's camera. 

I squealed in delight at the sight of my phone. It was placed beside my new school bag on the bed. I switched it on.Oh geez. A thousand messages, fifty missed calls and a couple of voice mails.
