I ran straight to my room to open the bag. What can it be? Inside was the panda stuff I tried on in the Japanese store. The slippers, neck pillow, the stuffed toy and about ten more assorted panda items. I smiled. Then there was a package from the bookstore. I opened it and inside was Backman’s new book and a pop-up book of The Little Prince. I opened it and he wrote something in it, 

The next day at school, something felt different. There was no Mark waiting for me at my locker. I looked around and saw him at his locker talking to a blonde girl. I couldn’t see very well from where I’m standing but I think it’s Heather, one of Taylor’s friends. She was laughing and had her hand on Mark’s shoulder. Then, to my surprise, she suddenly leaned over towards Mark and kissed him. I let out a gasp and looked around me to see if anyone noticed, I felt like my heart stopped. I was glad nobody was paying attention to me. Mark looked surprised too but just for a second, he then started laughing too. I turned around to walk to the opposite direction when I bumped in

The rest of the week went by smoothly. Raiden asked me out again the following week and I don’t know if I was just pissed at Mark or if I accepted because I actually like spending time with him. I also found out that I kind of liked hanging out with Michelle. It felt nice to have someone to talk to about girly moments and boy troubles. She had helped me make a decision. Well, sort of. She told me to go for Raiden since if I don’t every other girl in school will, and with regards to Mark, if he wanted something more he will definitely tell me. We were both quiet during the ride home. I just want to relish this moment with him. I looked at his profile while he was driving. He was concentrating on the road with a slight frown on his face. He startled me when he pulled to the side and said,“Is it okay if we stop and talk for a while?” I noticed we were by the park near my house. “There’s something I really, really want to tell you.”

I decided to take a long warm shower and I only got out because my mom was calling me for lunch. Jason was babbling about mark giving him a Topps card signed by Kobe Bryant and he was even telling us how much it’s worth now. “Why is he giving it to you if it’s worth that much?” I asked skeptically.
