‘Cloudy… Cookie…’ Elian silently walked down the sidewalk towards the park that was near his home. He was still about what name could fit his dog friend better, he was thinking of various but none of them completely convinced him. After Elian gave up and let Elijah drag him towards the address he had wrote down on the little paper he gave him (the brunette jumped off the window rather easily, while Elian was clinging to the window very carefully and took his time climbing down). “Now, everyone please lower your voice,” Charolotte instructed in a hushed voice, pushing the back doors of the Palace open to let the other three teenagers enter. She looked back at them and placed a slender finger on her lips to make an emphasis on her sentence. “We don’t want anyone to know we’re here.”“It’s alright, you’re worrying too much,” Elijah whispered, patting Charolotte’s back with a rather relaxed look on his flickering brown eyes that could be compared with a lukewarm cup of coffee. “...”Christopher never came out of the Palace. Charolotte, Elijah and Elian waited on the back entrance of the Palace from 2 am to 4 am. But there was no sign of their missing friend. Charolotte insisted that they should enter the Palace once again and search for him, but just before they were going to do so, guards began to turn on the lights of the Palace. That was a sign that they couldn’t go back inside without making it out alive.Currently Elian and Charolotte were laying down on the grass of the high school, the warm rays of shine laying on their bodies not making them feel warm in the slightest since both of them were thinking of the same person: Christopher.“… Where’s Elijah?” Elian asked after a few moments of silence in between his friend and him. Dead.The word didn’t stop swirling around Elian’s head, taking a lot of time for his brain to process and accept the information he was just given.Christopher… was found dead? ‘I hope this trip is worth it,’ Elian thought while being dragged by Elijah towards the King’s Palace. It was already night and just like Charolotte and Elijah had agreed, they were going to sneak into the King’s Palace once again. Elian thought that maybe he would be able to just squirm out of their plans and be able to sleep early that night; but just as he had arrived to his home and was about to sleep, the same thing happened. Elijah was on his window, and dragged him towards the Palace for he left no room for an argument.Elian remembered the bad feeling he had in the pit of his stomach yesterday, as if something bad was going to happen that same day. He decided that time to ignore his gut but it turned out that Christopher ended up missing.That meant that his ‘bad feeling’ actually meant something.But what was making him nervous, was that it was back, and it felt more intense. The moonlight gently shone through the window that was next to both males and enlightened both of their bodies to make them visible to their eyes. Elian had a brief moment to look at the guard thanks to this, for he was quite curious as to how the guards in the Palace looked despite the fact that he knew that he should be running right now.The guard had a nicely tanned skin, a pair of half-lidded dark brown eyes that looked directly at him and his hair was short and a black color. Though when Elian squinted his eyes he realized that it was actually a dark blue color that looked almost black.Elian didn’t need to study the man’s physique to know that he was stronger and taller compared to him.Elian felt like the guard was a big panther, and he was a chihuahua dog.But even if the guard was kind of distracting Elian, the frightened teen still managed to stand on his feet and scramble away from the guard in a hurry. The second Elian tripped and disconnected the cables from the machines, was when both the guard and him stopped hearing the beeping sound of the heart monitor, and just many other machines Elian didn’t know the purpose for.But he knew something, that the guard next to him was panicking quite a lot and just took the cables to look at them with clueless dark brown eyes. “Damn it, damn it, damn it,” The dark blue haired guard repeated over and over again, as if it was the only word in his vocabulary while trying to connect the cables back to the machines with clumsy hands.Elian didn’t know who exactly the old man in the bed was, but the fact that he saw the guard instantly grow nervous due to the machines being disconnected made Elian nervous as well. Similar to last night, Elian sat down near a few bushes and waited for Charolotte and Elijah to come out of the Palace with a twisting sensation in his stomach. He gradually decided that he would go back to his home because it was quite late, and his back was starting to hurt (also that he wasn’t able to keep his eyes open any longer, he almost fell on his face because he was nodding off while he kept a crouching position). If Elian wouldn’t have distracted his mind with the guard that he met that night, he would be already crying his eyes out from how anxious he was feeling about his friends not coming out of the Palace.Why was he the only one that was able to come out?
