I still remember. Third of December. The air was chilly. You had given me your sweater. The best memory of my life. But I saw your eyes. They had no warmth in them as they should have. They were as cold as ice. I looked away. You had caught me staring. I smiled nervously and walked away. I thought suddenly if he was ok. He put on his mask again and started to catch up with me. We went to the ice cream van. As I turned around to ask him what flavor he wanted I saw him looking at someone else. It was the high school queen bee. Elizabeth Johnson. She had bullied me when I was young and still does the same. I can't believe he was staring at her. I ignored this moment and went up to him. I tugged at his sleeve. He looked down at me like I was a piece of dirt or even worse a bug. I said I'm going to go home and he just nodded and walked towards Elizabeth. I ran home crying hoping that one day he would appreciate the love I showed him, but then I realized that its never going to happen.

As I reached home I ran to my bedroom and started crying. I somehow cried myself to sleep. I woke up at noon and decided to cry more but then I realized I needed to give myself a break.
