- n o w -Claire's mother took time fixing her daughter's things.She was always present in her child's life. That's why it was a shock to her, Claire's death. There wasn't a time where she was less of a mother. Claire's father as well, they both loved their daughter very much.

- t h e n -Claire was fumbling something in her cabinet drawer.It was of normal occurrence now when she cries. Ever since she told me she was sick, she cried most nights. I tried comforting her but she didn't like it when I did.

- n o w -Jen was ruffling my hair.Time didn't seem to stop but seemed to have gotten faster. Her eyes were puffy and I didn't think twice as I comforted her, sitting by her side. We both stayed at Claire's grave without talking. "She was a sweetheart, wasn't she?"
