This chapter covers my mama illness, how it ended up almost destroying not only us but the entire family. Our mama was the best gift we ever had, we were very young, abandoned by then our father, who left in search of money to be able to take care of his family. He ends up abandoning us, our mama now a primary school teacher had to struggle with the little salary she used to earn, she couldn’t take care of the family. This took a negative toll on her health, character, eventually ended up affecting her health.
This chapter talks about my early struggles in life, with my mama leaving, because of a heart disease, I had to be a young mother, to myself and my siblings. I had to start working, at the same time, I had school to attend. This wasn’t easy at all, it affected me more negatively than I had thought….. Talks about my courageous character when I ventured into business of selling ripes and pancakes. I had to learn to do pottery, where I earned more income to sustain the family.
In this chapter, elaborate how our mama, life circumstances forced her to put us at our grandmother homestead. I and my younger sister, and my elder brother.
This chapter talks about how life drastically changed, leaving our mother and getting away was the worst ever. Leaving at my grandmother homestead was the best, she loved and cared, amidst all these, my life was about to take a turn that I would never forget, a lot happened and nobody knew what was going on, not until things went out of hand. There was a lot of torture, unfair treatment, hardwork and yet we had to school. At this material time, I fell avictim of circumstances.
