THE RUNAWAY GIRLS

Niyah’s POV

“C’mon Keisha, hurry up dude. The classes are about to get over. We can’t afford to lose out this opportunity”, I frantically called out of my window.

“Niyah, don’t worry about me. I am just packing some important stuff to keep us going till we reach home”, Keisha replied as she stuffed almost everything in her backpack.

“You don’t need a lip gloss for lord’s sake !”, I exclaimed indignantly.

“You never know when we meet a sexy dude”, Keisha winked.

I rolled my eyes and groaned.

Our feet soon touched the soft grass after we jumped from the third floor windows of our dorm and headed towards the Main Gate of the school with garbage bags slung on our shoulders as we walked out in our line men uniforms.

“Are you sure the IDs will work, Sia ?”, Keisha asked worriedly.

“Just trust me, ok ? Have I ever failed you guys ?”, Sia replied hurt.

“Guys, close your mindlinks and hold your breath. Do not let these dunderheads get a whiff of us. Act like a human as much as possible”, I whispered.

Making our way through the first three check points, we managed to convince the security staff that we were indeed garbage pickers.

But the most unfortunate thing happened right before we could step out of the school gates.

Stella entered the school premises at the exact same time as we were preparing ourselves to flee this horrendous place.

“Guys, just stay calm and keep your eyes on the ground. Try to keep your mind blank and hold your breath”, I murmured keeping my neck low.

We managed to keep all our pores closed as we hurried out of the gate.

Soon we passed by Stella and only took a breath when we were safely outside the school boundary.

“Whew that was close. Finally free bitches !! Let’s hurry up and go back to Diamond Ville”, Keisha shrieked.

“What’s up Niyah ? Why are you so panic stricken ?”, Sia asked worriedly.

“My mindlink seems blocked even now”, I answered terrified.

“What ? That’s just not possible ! Wait a minute. Even mine is still blocked”, Keisha looked at us dumbfounded.

“So we are still in the school’s premises ?”, Sia blurted out in shock.

“Seems so but this is weird. Let’s just run away then. We can’t afford to be caught, can we?”, I said before sprinting away.

“Niyah, how do we travel now ? We haven’t shifted yet and if we take the main road, our scents shall hit them. We will have to walk through a side road”, Keisha said.

“Yes, we will travel by foot through these woods and then take a cab when we are safely away from Asheville”, I replied.

“I wonder if the boys will be mad at us for leaving them behind”, Sia said.

“No, stick to the plan the boys made. We can not afford to get out together”, I said with determination.

“Ma’am, you need to see this right now”, the secretary barged into Stella’s room.

“What’s the matter dear ?”

“Five rouges were found dead outside the school’s perimeter in the woods.”

“Then that’s not our business”, Stella replied irately.

“Ma’am, one of the rogues had this in his hand.”

Stella sniffed and went into shock and just stared at her secretary for whole 5 seconds.

“Oh no ! It can’t be”, Stella whispered.

“I’m afraid so, it is Ma’am. They must be halfway through towards Diamond Ville by now.”

“Don’t worry. I will take care from here.”
