Keisha’s POV

“Aunt Stone, why are you telling us all this ?”, Michael pointed out.

“That’s right what does this have to do with us ?”, Lee asked.

Now that we knew about the mysterious Prophecy, we had more and more questions in our mind. Nothing made sense. I mean it is so difficult to control 1 wolf but having 6 wolves and vampire powers was not only unheard of but insane too.

Aunt Stone took a deep breath and next, told us something that shook us all to the core.

“The Alpha female will be from our pack but it is not necessary that it has to be a woman, it can be a man too and above all, the social status of the Alpha female can range from being a Human to an Omega to a Beta to an Alpha.”

“Hence, we trained all the kids of our pack for the war as we could not catch any unfamiliar scents from either of the children but again, this means that you all have to shift so that we can know about your wolves”, Leena added.

“Is this the reason that none of the male members have also not shifted yet”, Jacob asked.

“Yes. The day the Alpha female finds her first mate, all the teenaged pack members shall shift subsequently. But there is another condition that you all have to keep a secret, even from us and the elders- the Alpha female along with the other unmated or newly- mated wolves can not tell who he/she is and if they have found their mates or not before the Great War ensues”, Aunt Stone warned.

“But we can tell the younger members and friends in the pack, right ?”, I asked.

“Yes, Keisha but the more number of kids know who the Alpha Female is, the more the chances of the secret spilling out and we can not afford to put our pack in danger because of it”, Mom replied. “Lucy, it’s time for us to get to the real point now. We should tell them about Asheville and their mission”, Mom said.

“Children, this is the last revelation and truth that we want you to know. Everything has to be kept strictly confidential. Even the Alpha should not get to know”, Aunt Stone stated.

“Yes Ma’am”, the Shadow Gang rang out.

“Stella has changed a lot. Leena and I believe that something wrong and illegal is going on in Asheville and it has to do something with Stella and the Rogue Vampire King but we really don’t know what it is. And the worst part is that we don’t even know who the Rogue Vampire King is- he is a secret same as the Alpha female”, Aunt Stone said.

“Why not rope in dad into this ? He has the resources and power to stop anything illegal”, Niyah asked.

“Since Stella was a former flame of your Alpha, we can not trust him as she might charm him and sabotage our mission. I want you guys to stick at Asheville and try to stop the rogues and vampires from creating trouble for us”, Aunt Stone ordered.

“Aunt Stone, the mindlinks do not work there and it seems as if Stella has her eyes everywhere”, I pointed out as I thought about our escape the previous day.

My mom let out a loud sigh and looked at me with sadness in her eyes.

“What’s wrong mom ?”, I asked with concern.

“You guys will have to mindlink each other in the Red Room”, mom said woefully.

“No way ! That room is so terrible. I ain’t going to that place ever again”,Jacob declared with finality in his tone.

“Jacob, it is the only way. Stella’s Grandmother made the perfect torture cell but she either forgot to put mindlink blockers there or she thought that no one could override the mind games that took place in that room”, Aunt Stone said.

“Stella and her guards can not keep their eyes or ears in that place as it affects their mind too if they linger there for too long. You guys can take things slowly in the Red Room. Practice enough to be able to bear 60 mins standing time in that room- 10 mins is just not sufficient”, Mom stated firmly.

Niyah was insanely quite the whole time. I raised my eyebrow to ask her if everything was ok, only to get an assuring nod from here.

“You still haven’t told why the Blue Opal is important”, Niyah stated.

“Honestly, that is a major stumbling block in this prophecy. No one knows who the Rogue Vampire King is and what is the real power and role of the pearl. Only the Ocean Spirit Pack know the secret”, Mom answered.
