LOGINNot long after, the ball exploded into a stream of fire, hitting the small house. The wooden house quickly caught on fire, and once the fire started, it spread quickly. The evil gave its grin again, laughing in that same, deep, hate filled voice.
Inside the house, the flames were beginning to break through as parts from the ceiling fell, spreading the fire even further. In her bed, Kyra began to feel overwhelmingly hot, and her discomfort woke her up. She quickly sat up and looked around as she saw her room burning. Luckily, her dresser wasn't on fire yet, so she ran to it, grabbing a small red book off of the top. She quickly placed it away in her pocket and ran to the door, kicking it open.
"Mom!" she yelled, but she saw no sign of the older woman. "Mother!" She quickly ran down the stairs, the fire flare up everywhere she went. She jumped over some of it, but avoided most of it, knowing that if she tried to jump it, she wouldn't make it. She was strong, but she was still made of flesh and blood.
She ran to the kitchen area of her house, the flames dancing everywhere. She then saw the woman she had been looking for. Her mother was surrounded by the hellish flames.
"Mother!" called Kyra. Her mother looked in her direction, relieved to see her daughter's face.
"Kyra. Thank goodness you're alright," she said.
"Mom, I'm coming." She tried to get to her, but the flames were too hot, and the fire burned as more wood fell from the ceiling.
"Kyra, get out of here!" demanded her mother.
"I'm not leaving without you. I can't!" Just then, a huge explosion blow up in the house, shaking the very ground it stood on.
Just outside, a black sports car pulled up near the house. The doors opened as Jaxon, Tyrell, and Kayle stepped out, their eyes wide.
"Look at this," said Kayle with horror and shock present in her voice.
"We were too late," said Tyrell dispiritedly. Just then, another explosion blow up from the house. The fire flooded out from the door and something came along with it. They all turned to see just who or what came flying from the house.
"Is that…?" started Tyrell.
"Kyra!" yelled Jaxon. The three of them ran over to her. She had scrapes and scratches all over her body and was partially covered in soot from the fire. She was lying on the ground, unconscious.
"Hey, wake up," said Kayle. She shook Kyra slightly, and surprisingly, the younger girl opened her eyes. She tried to focus on the people who were around her and soon enough, her vision cleared.
"Where…what happened?" she asked. She then saw her house burning and all of it came flooding back. "No…No! Mother!" She quickly stood up and ran closer to the house, but the flames were too intense. The three agents stood up as well, but stayed behind her.
Suddenly, a gust of wind, followed by the sound of beating wings, became obviously present. They all looked up as an evil came down and landed in front of Kyra. The flames burned behind it. It gave a sickening grin, which sent shivers up their spines, but Kyra didn't notice it or even care for that matter.
"Now you know," spoke the evil. Jaxon, Tyrell and Kayle were taken aback by its voice, none of them knowing that the evils could speak. "Now you know what it is like."
"Shut up," said Kyra. Her head was down, and it was easy to tell that she was crying. "Just shut up," she repeated. "You've taken the one person I had left…my only family…." She looked up at the evil, which was easily twice as big as she was. "For this…I won't let you leave here alive." Her eyes were filled with tears, but behind them was nothing but anger. "You will pay!" She lunged at the evil, punching it square in the face. She then kicked it in the chest and spin kicked it in the side with her other leg, sending it slipping against the ground. It stopped a few meters away from where she was, and she began to walk towards it.
"How?" asked the evil. "Where does this power come from?" It got back up on its feet and charged at her, trying to use the claws on its hand to stab at her, but she dodged and jumped upward, only to land on its back, pushing the evil into the ground. She jumped off and landed a good distance away. She brought in her arms and held them near her chest, palms facing in. The familiar light began to gather in the middle of her hands.
The evil got back up and charged for her, but as it came within arm’s reach, she pushed her hands forward, releasing the energy she had gathered. The evil gave a loud and long scream, but its voice soon died out. Eventually, the light faded. Not a trace of the evil was left.
Kyra put her arms back at her sides and turned to look at her house. The three agents couldn't believe what had just happened. They all stood in silence for a while; the only sound was the crackling of the fire.
"Jaxon," said Kyra, her voice more relaxed than it had been, but it still had that edge to it.
"Yes?" he asked quietly.
"I'd like to take you up on your offer."

Jaxon, Tyrell, and Kayle were waiting patiently on what appeared to be a lift. It was rather big, and the railing that surrounded the area where they stood was strong and well-made. Jaxon walked over to an electronic keypad that was embedded in one of the poles on the lift. He flipped the cover up and typed in a four-digit code. He then pressed enter and shut the cover. The lift began to move downward. The shaft was dark and empty, and it looked as if it was leading to nowhere. It began to get wider the further they went down until the walls of the shaft opened to reveal a huge room, brightly lit and with many people scrambling around. There were computers
The girl dropped her arms to her sides and jumped off the building and back onto the ground. She landed gracefully and then turned to look at the three people dressed in black. She was now in the light of a streetlamp and they could see her completely. Her hair was a purple. It came down nearly to her shoulders. Her bangs were spiked on one side and hung down normally on the other. Her eyes were a deep purple. She wore black pants that fit tightly. Over them, she wore a short, purple skirt. She had on brown boots that came up a few inches above her ankles. Over her shoulders was what looked like a cape, only shorter and more elegant, like a small cloak. It covered her shirt completely, showing only part of her arms and her hands. She just looked at the three people now in front of her.
The sky was dark, a color that was seen often nowadays. The pools of water on the ground, left from a fresh rainfall, would ripple occasionally, when a stray drop would fall from an overhanging pipe or street sign. The city looked as if it had been abandoned. It was a total mess. There were cracks in some of the buildings. Some street signs hung downward and were bent in several places. The dark clouds from the recent rainfall still hung in the sky. The only light came from the few streetlamps that were still undamaged.
