When Kiera arrived at the fort, she was madder than hell. She stormed into her father’s office with Jared in tow. Ben was sitting in the chair and moved to the back of the office while Jared stood at the door. They both knew their sister was about to explode.

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN IF THERE WILL BE A WEDDING?”

“Don’t raise your voice to me, young lady.”

“Are you alright?”

“NOW YOU WANT TO HEAR HOW I AM?”

“Kiera.”

“SCREW YOU! IF IT'S NOT GARRET, THEN I WILL DIE AN OLD MAID!”

She stormed out and left them standing there. She would not marry someone else. What she didn’t know was that Dominic had heard the whole thing.

Dominic Shane had been pinning after Kiera since the day he met her. The day he met Garret; he knew he’d never have a chance.

Kiera wrote to Monica and told her what happened and asked after Garret. Once she found out how bad off, he was, she begged her father to let her go to London. She told him she was never going to find another if she was cooped up the fort. He agreed and Ben went with her. When she told Monica where she was, she told Garret.
