Monica woke the next morning and went to breakfast. Kiera and Garret were sitting at the table together and said good morning. Garret was playing with her hand and tickling her palm. Monica thought it cute until Jared walked in.

“That’s enough you two.”

“Come on, Jared. He’s not going to do anything.”

“Kiera?”

“Jared. Oh, Good morning, Olivia.”

“Morning. Um, Jared are you going to sit for breakfast?”

“Already ate. I must go see if there are any messages from father.”

Monica laughed as Jared walked out. Olivia sat down and hung her head.

“My brother is an idiot, Liv, don’t worry.”

“I will always be a small child to him.”

“Do not worry, Olivia. I’m sure that isn’t true.”

“I hope not. So, what do you guys have planned?”

“Don’t know. What do you want to do?”

They ate and talked of plans for the day when James walked in.

“Monica, whenever you are ready, I can bring you home.”

“Alright. I was wondering, though, if I could stay and join Kiera and Olivia for their plans today.”

“I don’t see why not. Have fun. I will go and see your father.”

“Thank you, James.”

James kissed the back of her hand and asked to speak with Garret. The boys walked out and the ladies sat and talked. Outside, James informed his brother of his plans.

“Dale and his father are going to be at the Earl’s home. Father is joining me, but I would also like you to come just in case things go wrong.”

“Of course, James. You know I have your back.”

“Thank you.”

“The ladies?”

“Mother will be here, and they are staying in the house. We may not be gone long.”

“Alright.”

Garret walked back in the breakfast room and pulled Kiera aside. He told her what was happening, and she told him to be careful. He kissed her cheek and went to meet his father and brother. Kiera swore not to say a word to Monica, so she wouldn’t worry. Jared went with them to ensure things went peacefully.

Kiera, Monica, Olivia, and Candice all went to library for some reading for a few hours or to stitch. Monica loved her stitch work. They went on with their, losing themselves in what they were doing that they all had lost track of time. Candice began to worry when a maid come up and asked if they wanted lunch prepared.
