As an auto, copyright of a book usually refers to your right to upload this book on any platform.
In exclusive, you lose your copyright of this book. You will only have this contracted book on GoodNovel, and it should not be present on any other platform except this one.
Copyright does not mean that your book, your idea will be written by someone else or will be named on someone else. You will still be the author of the book and you will still have the complete right of how your story progresses and what ending it has. The only limit is that you cannot post your books on simultaneous online platforms or adapt your book to audiobook or something else, It will only be posted and used by GoodNovel.
In non-exclusive contract, you can post your story on different websites by yourself. You can only sign exclusive contract with one platform but you can sign any number of non-exclusive contracts with many platforms.
In both the cases, if your book is being used for any other purposes such as online adaptations, comments, audiobooks or anything else, the team will discuss with you.When it comes to online adaptations, making comics, making movies or making anything out of your novel here is the deal. And non-exclusive contract, the decision will be completely on to you while in exclusive contract the decision will be mutual but, you will get the share from whatever is earned
# About the Adaption Rights
We will discuss the profit share with you before we make any adaptations. Please note, there are no set intentions to make adaptations. This is just in case that we develop more business in the future (audio books, short movies, translation, etc.).Our aim to hold the adaptation rights is to help authors with their adaptations and protect the authors' rights. Also, our contract does not prevent you from negotiating adaptation of your book with other companies, but you need to inform us prior to doing so.# Is there a requirement about book covers?
You can design your own book cover(s). But please make sure you're not using the pictures without the artist's permission. Also, please avoid using book covers that is too "sexy" or too bloody/violent because it may get rejected when we review the book cover.
Also, we suggest you to use pictures with real people instead of pictures of illustration or nature scenes, because we find that most common readers prefer book covers with real people from our previous data.
# When are we going to make an author’s page?
We’re still building a functional author’s page. Put quality before quantity when developing our product is the most important principle. Please be patient.
#What if my book(s) are on other illegal/pirate platforms？Can I still sign contracts with you?
Yes. There are 2 ways to solve this problem. 1. You can file DMCA notice to the platforms that infringe your copyright. 2. You could talk to your editor in GoodNovel and I believe he/she can help you or give you advice on this. If you have already signed contracts with GoodNovel, we can help you send DMCA notice or teach you how to send it. You can also seek help in our social media communities, where you can find many fellow authors who are willing to offer help.

#What are the things I need to do after I sign a contract?Make sure you read our Author's Guidebook first.Here are 3 things you might want to check after you sign the contract with GoodNovel:1. Fill in your payment info so that we'll be able to pay you. Go to your personal page using a DESKTOP and you'll find it. (You can't fill in payment info on your phone)2. Usually, after you have 15 chapters, you can apply for premium. Please contact your editor about setting the premium chapters(paid chapters) for your book.Most of our books open premium somewhere between the 5th -15 th chapter, and where there's a cliffhanger. # How do I apply for contract?When uploading a book on our platform, you will need to register an account on our website first and then start uploading your book chapter by chapter. When you create a new book, the synopsis and book cover needs to be reviewed to make sure there's no infringement or anything inappropriate. The reviewing process normally takes a few working days. When we finish reviewing it, your book can be published and will be qualified to applying for contract.After you upload more than 15,000 words, you need to click the “Apply for contract” button which is on your personal page (Click your avatar) to submit your application. Author's Guidebook Exclusive And Non-Exclusive Contracts
Being a signed author of GoodNovel might be a milestone in your writing career. We offer two different contract types:1. Exclusive contract2. Non-exclusive contractEXCLUSIVE contract means that your novel can only be published on GoodNovel within the designated time. If the novel has been published on other platforms, you should remove it within a 30-day time limit. It's okay to put about 5 chapters on other platforms to tell the readers to read your story on GoodNovel.
