She was glad and thankful for having wonderful friends like them. As much as she was happy, she wasn't glad they her boyfriend hadn't called or sent her a message on WhatsApp wishing her a happy birthday.
Maybe he's busy. She thought to herself.
Her parents had sent a parcel for her at the school gate and had sent her some money as well. She went for her parcel with Noëlla.
“Has Kobby called?" She asked.
“No, maybe he's busy." She defended.
“Too busy for his girl?" She asked quizzically.
“Amma, I don't know, he's your brother you ask him." She frustrated by walked away.
This was what she was talking about. She wasn't ready to put her feelings out there and then get nothing in return but yet still he convinced her that he wasn't like that. He made get believe he was different from the rest and now this? Kate thought to herself as she checked her messages one more time and still nothing.
She switched off her phone and kept in inside her locker as she enjoyed her birthday. She wasn't going to let him ruin the day for her.
Meanwhile, “Kwame, I don't understand what you found in Amma that you can't find in me, what don't I have?" She asked turning around making him see a full view of her figure.
“Yaa, I have a girlfriend now and I like her I can't do this to her, I'm sorry." He pushed her out of his way.
“Okay, if you say so but I would still be here waiting for you when you need my services, you will come back for me." She assured him as she watched him go.
Kobby was tipsy as he walked to the hall around 2:39 am the next day after partying so hard. He never expected the University to be so much fun as he had just experienced. He unlocked the door to his room as he turned on the lights. His other roommates weren't back from where they had gone to.
He stumbled into the shower to have a bath. He had totally forgotten about his girlfriend's birthday.
Amma and Xtha woke Kate up. They had a birthday gift for her but decided to give it to her a day after her birthday.
“What's up?" She rubbed her eyes.
“We got you something," Xtha added whispering.
Noëlla took out a framed picture of the three of them when they met at the mall and other framed pictures of her when she wasn't aware she was being captured. She smiled at her friends and the gift. It was the best gift she had received.
“Awww, thank you, girls." She said pulling them in for a hug.
