Jillyanna placed the pot of white roses on a vacant space around her mother's tomb. Everytime she visited her mom, she would bring a pot of flower for her and she paid a caretaker to help her groom the flowers when she's not around.
"Hey mom, your space looks like a mini garden now. I brought so much flowers for you these past years. Where shall I place the other bunch next time?" she murmured while standing in front of her mother's grave.
She was wearing a black baseball cap and a dark shade, covering her upper face. People who visited their loved ones tend to look at her.
She was wearing a plain white off-shoulder blouse and a modest floral print maxi skirt that hid her long legs.
"Cielo and I successfully launched the new branch of our cafe. I wanted to go abroad and take a short vacation but I feel like it's hassle. Maybe I'd go two months from now." she continued to talk on her own, expressing her thoughts to her late mother.
"By the way mom, Lucian found a new lead for your case and sooner or later, we will be able to catch the person who killed you. You don't have to worry about me, I'm always careful. See, your little girl has grown up already." she skipped and turned around as if her mother could see her silly actions.
People found her actions cute and adorable for someone who was already big. They could feel and see how much she loved her mother base on her temperament while talking to the grave.
Her phone rang, showing Cielo's name on the caller ID.
"Yanna, dad wanted to know what time will you be home and mom was so excited she had prepared almost all your favorite food. Ugh, are they your parents or my parents? How come they like you so much?" Cielo's series of complaints made her laugh so much.
"They like me because I'm pretty and I'm smart." Jillyanna played along while removing some dried leaves on her mother's tomb.
"Shut up sister! I'm smarter than you. Anyway, come home soon or I'll keep calling you within 10 minutes interval." Cielo threatened her knowing that she hates answering calls.
"I know. I know. I'm almost done here. I'll be there around 6:00 o'clock in the evening." she responded to her friend's inquiry. Cielo told her some other things before finally ending the call.
Jillyanna put her phone inside her bag before facing her mother again. She smiled faintly as she remembered some memories with her mom.
"Mom, I won't be staying long. I still have some things to do tonight. I'll visit you again soon. I just hope that I can bring you some good news. Anyway, I'm going home now." Jillyanna turned on her heels and walked away from her mother's grave after bidding her farewell.
She walked towards the parking lot outside the memorial park to get her car. She stopped on her track when she found the man, who brushed past her, so familiar to her. The man paused for a while but he didn't turn around or even gave her a glance.
Jillyanna shrugged her shoulders thinking that she might've mistaken him for someone else. She continued to walk towards her Sedan Mercedes Benz E-class without looking back.
She rummaged her bag for her keys when suddenly, she felt someone approaching her. She quickly took a side step to her left, turned around and held the hand of a woman who was holding a white handkerchief.
The woman was caught off guard but she immediately took action and held Jillyanna's other arm.
Jillyanna twisted her arm to get out of her strong hold, pushing the woman away from her, almost slamming her on someone else's car.
"What do you want from me?" her scrutinizing ice-cold gaze should made people scram from fear. However, the woman in front of her was calm and collected while reaching a handkerchief to her.
"You dropped this. I was inside the car so it took me time to get this back to you." the woman responded to her, checking her like an insect under a magnifying glass.
Jillyanna took back the handkerchief and found her initials in it. "Thank you for giving this back to me. I'm sorry if I caused you pain. I'm just being careful." she made a deep bow to express her sincere apology.
The woman waved her hand to drop the matter before giving her a faint smile. "It's good to be aware of your surroundings. I'll go ahead. Take care."
The woman waved her hand and left in a hurry, leaving a statued Jillyanna who was embarrassed from mistaking a good Samaritan for a criminal.
"Sigh. I can't believe I did that again." Jillyanna put the handkerchief inside her bag before getting inside her car.
She pushed the guilt at the back of her mind so she could concentrate in driving. She maneuvered the car out of the parking lot and drove back to Cielo's house.
Little did she know, someone took interest of her. Her appearance was so similar to the woman he had liked for so many years.
A smirk formed on the man's lips before walking away from the crowd. He pulled up the zipper of his black jacket and covered half of his face with the hood.
Earlier when he approached her he was sure he would be able to get her, but an unknown woman spoiled his plan.
The man gritted his teeth from anger as he walked out of the place.
"What are you doing here?" Travis asked in bewilderment. He never expected her to be there or more like, waiting for him to show up.Jillyanna snickered while glaring at him. "Shouldn't I be asking you that? What do you think you're doing? I'm not some kind of charity for you to send me things."Travis was silenced at her words. He never meant it that way. "I didn't do it because you're some charity case. I know you have money to buy those but I don't know what to give you.""I already told you. It won't work between us." Jillyanna stormed out of the store with Travis following behind her.The driver who saw Travis chasing after a pretty girl widened her eyes in surprise. Their master never showed any interest towards women, but now he was chasing after that girl."Jillyanna, wait." Travis quickened his steps and held her by her arms."How did you know my name?""Didn't you give it to me that night?" But he actually got the name from
"Eh? Why are you laughing at me?" Jillyanna asked with a pout that made her look so cute."I've never met anyone who can rile up your mood. It's my first time seeing your face changed to different expressions. I wonder who this person is." Cielo teased her but Jillyanna did not give in to her. In any case, she wouldn't be seeing that man in the future. Or that's what she thought. However, destiny played cheerfully with their fate. Jillyanna didn't visit the cafe the next day to avoid bumping into him, but that didn't mean Travis would just stop.Cielo was checking on their food display when the wind chime made a sound indication of someone's appearance. A delivery guy came with a bouquet of red roses."Uhh excuse me? Flowers for Miss Jillyanna." The staff looked at each other since they knew that their boss don't actually visit the cafe that often.Cielo saw their surprised faces and went up to the delivery guy. "I'm sorry to trouble you. Are you s
Her shock and amazement was obviously written on her face. It had been three days since their affair happened and, if she could make a choice, she wouldn't want to see him again."Why are you here?" Jillyanna asked while keeping her things away from his sight. She didn't want him to know her identity as a singer.Travis sat down on the couch across her table as if they were really close friends. "I was passing by when I saw you from the outside. I thought it'd be nice to drop by and say 'Hi!'."Jillyanna rubbed her temple from a sudden dull ache. "Look. What we had was just a one night affair. You don't have to worry about me clinging to you because it won't happen. Let's just forget that we actually done that. Hmm?""I can't do that." Travis put his elbow on the table while placing his chin on his palm. He looked at her straight in the eyes which made Jillyanna's heart skip a beat."What do you mean you can't do that?" she glared at him but Travis
Travis took note of Jillyanna's address and left. He went home directly to do some work and look into her information.Hawk heard the familiar sound of engine coming off from Travis' car. He saw him walking towards the house with a faint smile on his lips. It's clear as day that he had a good time.It wasn't just Hawk who heard him arrived home. Everyone inside the house noticed his arrival. They felt a sudden surge of relief and decided to get back to bed and get more sleep.Sleeping was another benefit they got from working undercover in Travis' company. When they were in military, they had to be always in high alert, making their time of sleep shorter compared to other people."Good morning sir Travis!" the servants who saw him greeted him one by one. He just nod his head at them and walked directly to his study.Since he slept peacefully last night, he was energized and was able to do a lot of work. He checked on business proposals, reviewed th
Even though she was tired and was in pain from the previous night's activity, Jillyanna tried her best to get out of the bed.She noticed that Travis was hugging her waist from behind and his chest went up and down whenever he inhaled and exhaled to breath. Jillyanna held his hand carefully before pushing them away from her.'Thanks God I didn't wake him up.' she sighed in her heart from the success of her escape. She climbed down from the bed with a glaring eyes."I didn't know it would be this painful!" she spat out the words in whisper, rubbing her waist and back in the process of grabbing her clothings one by one.She put on them as careful as she could to avoid waking him up. She picked up her bag and left the room like nothing happened. It was still five in the morning so she expected her best friend to be asleep. However, that wasn't the case. She paid the hotel first for a full night and day of accommodation since she didn't know when the g
They arrived at their room after few minutes. Jillyanna gripped her bag tightly when Travis opened the door. The room was big with plenty of furnitures. They have their own refrigerator with some beers and water in it. There was an LED TV and cable and of course the king-sized bed."Here we are." Travis whispered, startling her and her heart started beating wildly.'I just made up my mind earlier but now I wanna go back!' she was crying in her mind for such foolish action but she would never let him laugh at her.She could only endure and finish everything. Hopefully, something would really come out of this plan."I'll take a shower first." Travis went directly to the bathroom, leaving her standing in the middle of the room.Jillyanna placed her bag on the couch and took a cold beer from the ref. She needed something to boost her confidence. She's normally confident in herself but this was something she's doing for the first time."He
