Act 1 : Chapter 5

I was at the front of Aunt Paine’s house. It was morning. There’s no one that can notice me. There’s a dog in the garden. The half of its body is white whilst the head are divided by brown and black. The dog is familiar.

I think I saw this dog already in one of the old pictures of Mom. There’s a wake happening. I saw Dad along with Uncle Jheck, Uncle Lanzelot, and Uncle Khalil. They’re on their teenage years. They are all smoking near the garage area. I can’t understand what they are talking about. I also saw Aunt Mavis, Aunt Paine, Aunt Jeanne, and Mom; all of them are crying.

All of them gave each other a hug. The dog then came near Mom. After the dog walked near Mom; I was transported inside the house. I saw who’s inside the coffin. I saw Aunt Hikari. She was smiling inside the coffin. I saw also the burial details near her. It was June 23rd 20xx. It was the day after our birthday.

The dog then ran near the casket; suddenly the sound works! I can now hear everything. The dog is barking at the casket; I saw all of them weeping as the sound of the bark echoes the room. It crushes my heart and it made me cry.

The dog was trying to wake up the one who’s inside the coffin but no avail. A familiar voice then called the dog. “Beck! Come here boy.” She said calmly to the dog as the dog wags it’s tail. It was Mom.

The dog came to Mom but then returned quickly to the casket then barked again.

I saw Aunt Paine opening up a room; after seeing the room was opened the dog ran towards it. Mom then collapsed and all of the people in the room panicked. I nearly jumped when someone talked to me.

“So this happened to Luna when I died huh.” The voice was calm.  While her lips is kinda pouted.

“Are you a ghost too!?” She exclaimed when she saw me.

“Well, technically in this time. Yes.” I answered. I kept my calm not to panic.

“I died at my 24th birthday, June 22nd. I cannot even remember all of their names when I was dying. I cannot recall of our memories together. What brings you here?” She asked. I felt the sadness in her.

“

“I have a mission. Something to do with them.” I calmly answered.

“Cool! What mission! You know what; Kagami and I used to have a private investigative type. Typical spying on someone, you know.” She told me as if she knows who I was.

“Stalking.” I mumbled.

“Wait. Why do we have the same eyes?” She then asked.

“I was born blind Mom said. I don’t know who’s eyes I am using.” I answered with apologetic voice.

“Cool! They really looked like mine though!” She said enthusiastically.

“You really are an enthusiastic person huh?”

“Was I? Yeah they’ve told me that quite a few times already.”

“You are. I think that you’re a cool as a person too.”

“I was! When I wasn’t dead though.”

“Hey! Since we have the same birthday, do you know why Mom was here in your wake?” I curiously asked.

“I don’t know. As far as I remember, Luna and Kagami are dating already when I was at the hospital before I died.” She answered with a sigh.

Then the light came again. I was staring at the gates.

“Memory of Dog(?) can be viewed anytime!” says on the Hologram message. “Hikari’s Ghost can now be your “Companion””.

Does this mean that I can talk to Aunt Hikari? Can I also bring her to the “future” or “past”? Then my phone ring as I entered our home. It was Dominique who’s calling.

“Hey. What’s up with those unlocked events, memories, locations etc. That you’re telling me before?” I listened as he speaks on the other end of the line.

“Maybe you should investigate more? I mean try to walk around the town or something like that” He added while I’m waiting for my chance to talk to him.

“Where were you anyway?” I asked.

“Like you; I’m doing what I’ve been told. I’m here at the “future”. I’m gathering information from the police; about the accident that happened 38 years ago from here; I mean from “future”. The culprits aren’t caught yet. Do you managed to unlock a “Companion?” He asked.

“Yes. It’s a ghost though.”

“Mine too don’t worry. It’s my Mom’s ghost.”

“That’s cool. Anyhow, I’ve unlocked two key memories.” I said.”

“That was fast. Great start.” He replied.

“This is like a game. Your mission.”

“I don’t know also. The lead is hard. Moonlight’s Shadow. I wonder what that or this means.”

“I’ve managed to unlock “Memories of Light along with Memories of Shadow.” I said.

“I’ve seen those already. Don’t view it. Please.”

“You made me curious. What’s in there?”

“If you love your life now then don’t. Especially the Shaodw Memories.” He warned with a serious voice.

“What’s in there? It piqued my interest!” I said to him

“Your Origin.” He just said. I suddenly felt scared.

“Okay Aeina enough. Please. Just look for the Memories of Moon. PLEASE.” After saying that; the call ended.

I felt curious about it. But I’m now scared to watch it as Dominique told me something about it. I entered the home and I found Dad, Aeira and Mom singing at the Karaoke Machine. I wasn’t gifted with a beautiful singing voice. I don’t know if the minus one was fast or delayed when I’m singing, maybe it’s just broken! I lowered also the AC from 23 to 18. I sat for a minute then I felt sleepy.

I climbed the stairs and then proceed to enter the old room of Mom that is now my room. As I lay in the bed a notification came. “Corrupted Memories of Shadow Obtained!” “Memories of Wedding day Obtained!!” I didn’t paid attention on it. I removed the ring and placed it at the side table I took a quick bath and then turned on my AC to the lowest temperature. I swiped and swiped on the endless news feed.

I saw that Skye dismantled her engine with a middle finger on it. Her parents reacted “angry” on her post. I reacted to her post by “Haha” reaction, then Aeira commented “Thank you for that Five Hundred Grand!” with lots of laughing emojies. Skye then replied by saying. “Fuck off twins! I’ve lost my allowance!”

I also posted my new car while the side skirts were on at the garage that made the whole place blue. After I uploaded the pictures of it I fell asleep.

The next day when I unlocked my phone; it was bombing with notifications. New friend request which I ignore if I don’t know the person personally, birthdays, tags, post on my timeline, and the greetings and lastly the reactions of my last post.

It has 3242 likes, wows, hearts reactions. I didn’t read the comments from the post. But one comment allured me. It was from Aunt Mavis. “Cool! Bring it here someday to put some decals on it!” She said on the comment; I replied “If it’s for free then yes Aunt!”

Uncle Lanzelot then replied with “Sure! If it’s you twins! Tell Aeira too!” with a heart emoji.

As I go down thru the stairs; Dad was hurrying while Mom was on her usual outfit when in home. Mom kissed Dad while I was tip toe walking towards Dining Area.

“Hello there lady.” Mom greeted me as she kissed me on my forehead.

“Hi Mom.” I greeted back to her while I yawn.

“Aeira’s with your Dad today. She’s gonna take a look at the construction site; the new project for your Dad at Cebu. They’ll return tomorrow evening. By the way Aeina, did your Aunt Mavis told you to come by at their house?”

“Yes. I’ll go there later on. Do you wanna join?” I asked her as I try to get some eggs.

“Sure thing. It’s been forever since I saw your Aunt Mavis. I’m too busy with my work.”

“Yeah. For sure; Aunt Mavis will be on tears.”

“Are you perhaps on Day-Off?” I asked.

“Yes. Not just a day off, I have my whole week schedule free.”

Mom then proceeds to grab her phone and she called someone. I don’t even get the context of it. All I heard was “Yes” “Really.” What the heck is happening to the world? I told myself. I’m getting the hint that it was Aunt Mavis.

“Was that Aunt Mavis?” I asked with an eyebrows rose.

“Yes. I will stay at her place; until tomorrow.”

We finished eating and then I returned to my room. I took a bath then put on clothes and then my phone rang. It was Dominique.

“Did you managed to get a corrupted memory?” He asked on the other line.

“Yes. It was on my room. “Memories of Wedding Day” came along with it.

“When I have time; I’ll tell you on how to watch all of those “Memories”. For now, just unlock everything you can; as many as you can. I have to go now.” Then a beep is all I heard then the call ends.

I was walking along the garage to unlock my old car when I unlocked “Twin Memories II”.

Mom rode the passenger seat and I drove to Aunt Mavis’ house. It was near, 15 minute walk but I drove Mom to Aunt Mavis’. I returned home then brought my new car for the free decals. I honked the horn near at the gate and it opened. I saw Mom hugging Aunt Mavis. A new notification flashed to me.

“Memories of Live I unlocked!! Memories of Live II Unlocked!!” “New Key Location found!!” “New Event can be seen in Ethereal Form!!” “New Phrases can be inserted!!” “You can now call your Companion!!” *See Rule #6!!”

#6. Companions: They can be a key to your Mission! Or not? They cannot be seen by “Living” being whether in the past or future. Only the “machine” bearer can hear and see him/her. Anything that your companion(s) touches can be possessed by them. You can order them with almost everything but bear in mind the common sense when using this. Companion cannot disobey you. “Very Rare, Mega Rare and Ultra Rare” Companion(s) however can disobey you. They have their own emotions, and thinking so bear that in mind.

“Hikari’s Ghost Grade: Ultra Rare!!!” “Memories of Dog(?) Became Companion!!”

“You’ve Obtained: Beck’s Ghost. Beck’s Ghost: Mega Rare!!  “You can now RECALL your Companion(s) anytime!”

I parked my car on their Decal Shop. It was on the front of Public wet Market. It looked like there’s a car show happening when Uncle Lanz opened my car’s door and trunk. He also told me to get Aeira’s car. He then called Aeira to send what decal design she likes. Aeira doesn’t like the idea of other people driving her car so I fetch it at the garage. I returned home and grabbed her keys to her room. It was noticeable that she was hurrying to be with Dad’s business trip; her Dresser was a mess. Her computer was also opened. I laugh hard as I saw what her searches query was. “How to make your daddy proud as a successful civil engineer” “How to marry your dad” “Does dad love me?” I quickly called her.
