  Alex kept running to put distance between her and the hospital so the guards couldn’t find her by daylight with the hounds. Exhausted, she walked in pain as the stones and tree roots were too much against the soft tender skin of her feet. She suddenly looked around nauseous as the darkness slowly crept towards to her.   Alex silently waited hours for the day to go by so she could follow through with her plan. She had skipped lunch at noon due to the wave of loneliness that engulfed her without Walnut at her side. Sitting patiently on her bed, she waited for her cat to return as it stopped raining. She finally builds up the courage to stand up and leave her room when she heard her stomach rumble with hunger.
