CHAPTER 15 : EMOTIONALLY INCLINED!

They weren’t able to hear what the director asked them when the room gets crowded, some of the board of directors entered the meeting room.

After 10 minutes, the board of director asked Engr. Kingsley Reyes to present his report. He started his report even if the CEO of the company is not yet around.

He introduced himself by saying, “Good morning everyone, I’m Engr. Kingsley Reyes from Herodes Group of Company, I was sent by our company to coordinate with all of you for your company’s new project building.

Engr. Kingsley Reyes? The board of directors started to ask each other about the guy in front of them.

Is he President Gerald Andres’s future son-in-law? Director Ronnie David asked Director Jayson Shin who’s seated beside Mianne.

Mianne started to get confused about what she’s hearing from the board of directors of their company. Until one of the directors asks Kingsley frankly.

Engr. Kingsley Reyes? President Gerald Andres’s future son-in-law? Are you the one whom he always tells us these past years? Director Emily Flores asked him in front of the board meeting. He is right, you are handsome and intelligent, she added.

Mianne stood and looked at Kingsley like they both don’t have an idea about what Director Emily Flores is talking about. Kingsley showed a confused face to everyone seeing his sweat falling down to his face while wiping it using his white handkerchief.

Until…

Yes, he is my future son-in-law. My daughter is lucky to have her, right? Florence entered the scene. He plays the role of Sophie’s father.

Dad? Did I hear it right? You called Kingsley, your future son-in-law? Mianne uttered in a surprised tone showing teary eyes. It means…

Yes, Mianne. You heard your dad right; Tanya entered the scene as Sophie’s mother, Mianne’s character.

Mom? Mianne runs towards Tanya and she hugged her very tight. It is not in the script; their lines move them to the right emotions needed for the scene. It is true that you don’t have to tell the characters what they should feel about it or tell them to cry. Pure emotion comes out if you are in character.

Everyone was stuck in the moment; their reactions seem to be natural seeing how Chant and Mianne showed natural emotion that made the scene genuinely executed.

Sophie’s father stepped forward and he came in front of the board of directors after seeing Kingsley in shock. He tapped Kingsley’s shoulder and stood beside him, Kingsley move!

By that word, Kingsley was awakened from shock. Am I just dreaming? Please wake me up! He slapped his face and pinched his cheeks, he looked so crazy doing that in front of the board.

But the board of directors are just smiling at them.

This is not a dream, okay? Everything you heard is true, you are stuck in your position like you are just having a day dream. Do you?

Am I? Kingsley whispered then he smiled.

He laughed at him and tapped his shoulder again proudly saying, “Now, that you met my future son-in-law, what can you say about him? He asked them showing a proud face. He lends his arm to his future son-in-law and uttered, “Kingsley, you’ll be the CEO’s future son-in-law. You stand straight and show them the stand of a confident man, he commanded.

Finally! We met your future son-in-law after you announced it to us three (3) years ago that your only daughter has a fiancé, Director Emily Flores uttered.

What? The board of directors knew it? What do you mean after 3 years my dad told you I already have a fiancé? Sophie looked at them eye to eye one by one. Wait, I don’t understand! What’s happening? She asked.

Sophie, come and join us here. Darling, please you join us, too, Florence asked Mianne and Tanya to join them in front.

All of the people inside this board meeting room knew it, Sophie. I told them 3 years ago that you already have a fiancé, that was a year after you and Kingsley got separated, Florence delivered the lines very touching that made Mianne brings out a real emotion.

Your father told us about Kingsley. He assured us that soon, he will introduce Kingsley to us in God’s perfect time, Director Jayson Shin discussed.

Kingsley and Sophie startled. They were very shocked of what they have just discovered. Because of joy, Chant wasn’t able to control himself and he hugged Florence even if it is not in the scripted, he was just carried away of how touching the scene was.

On the other hand, Mianne hugged Tanya very tight. She was so happy seeing his greatest love, Kingsley very comfortable to his father, Gerald who insulted him before and now she realized how lucky she is having a good father.

She hugged his father and whispered, “Thank you dad, I love you so much.” Mom, thank you for being there for me always, I love you, Mianne expressed gratitude to her parents.

The board of directors showed happiness celebrating with the reunited couple after 4 years of being separated by fate.

Florence looked at Chant and uttered, “Hey Kingsley, what are you waiting for?” He held Chant’s right hand and Tanya guided Mianne’s hand and they led them holding each other’s hand for good.

Kingsley, this is the perfect time for you and my daughter, Sophie. Please take care of our only daughter, support her in everything she does. Always make her happy, huh? Florence uttered the lines coming from his heart like he’s really a father for Chant.

Kingsley, my daughter is very different among the ladies you had in your life. Her heart is fragile, she’s emotional. Please take care of my daughter’s heart not just her physical, Tanya delivered the lines like she’s really giving her own daughter’s hand to the man he trusted to take care of her daughter. Don’t hurt her, Gerald will surely punch you, I’m telling you, she uttered in a kidding manner.

Gerald, Florence’s character just widened his eyes and a warned face then he smiles after.

Chant just smiled and assured them, “You’ll not regret this, auntie, uncle. I promised to love her more than my life, more than what you expected.

What did you just say? Uncle? Ugh! You are my future son-in-law. Call me dad, Florence lends his arm to his future son-in-law.

Auntie no more! Call me mom, Tanya tapped Chant’s shoulder.

Welcome to our family, Kingsley! Sophie’s parents welcomed Kingsley in the family with a heartfelt welcome.
